After seeing positive reviews on Yelp, my wife and I decided to try this place out. We typically go to La Hacienda for our Mexican food fix but opted to try something different for lunch. This place is quite small/cramped. We placed our order then found a high table for two. We both like carnitas so I ordered the Carnitas Burrito and my wife tried their Carnitas Quesadillas. Our observations: 1. This place does NOT provide complimentary chips and salsa. What?!!! 2. Carnitas flavor was lacking in our opinion. We liked the seared tortillas but were underwhelmed by the flavor 3. Service was friendly and food came out fast enough 4. We didn't think the value was there. 5. Ample parking in front. All in all, our experience fell short of high expectations. We'll be sticking with La Hacienda. Lunch for 2 (just water to drink) came out to just under $35 with tip.

Half of an Asada burrito, it was huge!!

Casita Luna is an absolute gem in Ocala. The tacos here are amazing. I tried the al pastor, chicken, and asada, and all of them were great. The chicken and al pastor were my favorites and super flavorful. The house made green and red salsas really take everything to the next level. Both are fresh and bold. I also tried my husbands burrito and it was huge and so good, with the perfect ratio of rice, beans, and meat in every bite. He said the best he's had in florida so far. Do not skip the horchata either. It was excellent and the perfect complement to the food. Seating is a bit limited right now, but they are expanding next door soon, which is great to hear. You can really tell how much love goes into this place. I love Casita Luna and will absolutely keep coming back.

Great little restaurant! We ordered at the counter. The servers were friendly and accommodating. We had the breakfast burrito with chorizo, steak burrito, caldo de res, and an Al pastor taco. The tortillas are made fresh in house. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Definitely the best Mexican food I've had in Florida. Very nice beverage selection including flavored coffees, agua fescas, horchata.

Hidden gem/hole in wall, but it seems their actual restaurant is under renovation. Tucked away in a corner, be on the lookout for this little restaurant that packs big flavor. I do want to say the prices seem a little steep. The birria quesadilla is about $15 and only 3 pieces, tacos are about $3+ each, etc. However the food is delicious, flavorful and tastes authentic.

Tacos are always what's good especially when you find a chill lowkey spot that's totally doing it right! They make their own tortillas that right there is what's taco good in soo many ways and it totally showed with each of the tacos I ordered as the tortillas were awesome and the pastor and asada were super flavorful even more so with their yummy avocado salsa on top making for one of the best tacos I've had in Florida! Finding legit tacos is something that I seek out as being from California it's what I grew up with and that's exactly what can be found here! My favorite lived her pastor quesadilla she said it was very flavorful and just perfect in all those cheesy quesadilla ways! The staff member I encountered was super friendly and quick to bring our food out making for that much more of a good experience. They have a small area inside to eat as well as a few tables outside we sat outside with our doggie and she was more than welcomed there. Overall delicious flavorful tacos with homemade tortillas you so know that if I'm in the area that I'll be back here again!

In the area for a few days and my favorite thing to do is look for authentic food! Street tacos are my weakens... read some reviews and they aren't lying. Small hole in the wall very very clean and pretty impressive kitchen. Staff is very personable. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Carne asada was very flavorful and tiny bit salty but still very delicious. The salsas were also very fresh! Give them a try you won't regret it

If you want tacos this is your place. It's the definition of hole in the wall and family run. Seating is VERY limited but they in the process of expanding, so hopefully by the time you read this they will be in their bigger spot next door. Staff is nice and has great recommendations. We loved the pastor tacos, the chicken floutas and asada burrito, pro tip get the 4 flouta combo, they are a bit small. We originally ordered 1 flouta, loved it, and had to go back and order more.

Talk about small town mom & pop restaurant! I LOVED IT! The food is super authentic, the atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming, and the service was excellent!!! I'm definitely coming back every time that I'm in Ocala. Please support this business, you won't be disappointed!

Tacos al pastor and a tamale.

Very good home-cooked Mexican staples in a small restaurant without much seating but clean and with a lot of love. Everything is homemade and may bring back childhood memories if you had food like this as a kid. The tamales are to me however the really stellar stand-out item: possibly the very best tamales I've ever had--ever. My tacos also were near-perfect and they make their own aguas frescas and mine was excellent -- certainly consider ordering one or their horchata for a drink. Though small, the restaurant is clean through and through -- from the bathrooms to the counter and what I could see of the kitchen so don't let its location at the end of a small strip mall discourage you at all, it's a great little restaurant and the real deal when it comes to the food it has on offer. The owner also told me their even thinking of a larger location!

This place is a little hole in the wall but wow it was so good !!!! We got there and it was super packed on christmas day. Very clean and the staff was super nice and super helpful. The flair as were loaded up beans and rice were very well seasoned. Burrito was as huge and packed. the sauces were also very flavorful. The torta the bread was not soggy and it was a good size. So good would come here again.

Carne asada tacos and the most amazing homemade salsas

Things here are fresh, quality and homemade. This is my favorite place to get carne asada tacos! The meat is generous and quality meat, the homemade corn tortilla is so delicious and the avocado and habanero salsas are the perfect condiment. Cannot stress enough how delicious the salsas are, I could drink a bucket of the avocado salsa. Not pictured here are chips which are made to order. I've also tried the birria quesadilla and shrimp ceviche which are both delicious. I've been missing good Mexican food since living in Florida and this place is perfection. Everything tastes right and is delicious. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

After a crazy day of showing horses, this is the place to get comfort Mexican food that is the best in the state!

My #1 mexican restaurant in the Ocala area…read more As you know, and you can see, by the number of checkin's and reviews I write about mexican restaurants... that I have a thing for mexican food. It's probably because I have lived in California so long and also... I think I have an addiction to refried beans as well... (and black beans). When you workout, expend a lot of energy or have a long day of work.... refried beans are like a shot in the arm.... it gives you instant energy. Besides.... I on a no pasta, bread, pastries, dessert or sugary things diet...so that means... I focus on "how much protein I can obtain with just one meal". So Im a very protein focused person and I like to get my money's worth. La Catrina's sauces on things are spectacular. I love it! The food just tastes that much more interesting than it normally does. This is a feat and a half. It's difficult to make most mexican food interesting... we are all so used to it by now. Probably the only place you can go to get interesting and gourmet mexican food is Mexico City (so I've heard)......but out here in Ocala ??... this restaurant does a pretty good job. The service is great too

My only complaint was the enchiladas verde dinner was so tiny- it looked like a child's meal, and my dining companion was still totally hungry after. We were going to need to stop by Lowe's anyway to pick up a hose clamp for securing the dryer vent hose (prior owners used zip ties for that purpose...really?) so we decided to try out Azul after our painters provided positive experiences after eating lunch there. It was a late lunch so the place wasn't packed. We were seated immediately...place seemed spacious and had a lively vibe with various tequila-themed neon signs. I ordered their carnitas plate and my wife chose the spinach quesadilla WITHOUT mushrooms off the lunch special menu. The tortilla chips were warm but the salsa, while decent, tasted sweet and lacked some punch. When our meals were served, it became apparent that my wife's quesadilla had plenty of mushrooms, even after the server repeated my wife's order of no mushrooms. I couldn't wait for our server to return with her meal so I proceeded to sample their carnitas. When I initially asked our server how their carnitas were, she said they're "pretty good"...and I would think the carnitas were just OK. My wife, once her meal was served after what felt like a long wait, liked her quesadilla. She thought the spinach flavor shined through. All in all, a decent meal with nice presentation that would suffice if we were hankering for Mexican food and didn't want to drive far. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to about $36.
