The food was amazing! Home cooking!!! Yum yum. I had the soup encabollado de pescado with white rice and plantain chips. My husband had the Lomo Saltado de Res with yellow rice, black beans, and avocado salad. Both were excellent and full of flavor! The service was top notch! Highly Recommend!!!!

Xavier was our server and he took the best care of us! We had the sampler appetizer and the homemade jalapeño poppers followed by steak tacos with black beans and rice. Then we got a tamale, omg so delicious, and the Ecuadorian fish soup stole the show i added fresh jalapeños to mine and it only made it better

Delicious little place on the outskirts of downtown Ocala. The starter chips and salsa was on point so you know it's going to be good when they hit! I had their variety of authentic prepared tacos and they were packed full! Tostones were crispy and delicious and topped it off with a horchata drink which was super tasty. Xavier gave great service and recommended I come back for the stew! 10/10!

We went for lunch on a week day and were the only people there. Don't let that deter you! Both men there were so nice and made sure everything was good multiple times. I love when a Mexican restaurant offers black beans instead of refried beans, and this place did! It was decorated nicely and clean. We sat outside! The food was great too. We got a veggie burrito and a chimichanga after we inhaled a ton of chips and salsa. Would recommend and would come back!

The interior is clean and fun. Great staff by the way too.

Please try the absolute best empanadas I've ever had anywhere. The pork empanadas came to my table, hot and unimaginably tasty. I also went with the three taco plate, which were also awesome. What a fantastic meal, great service and a comfortable atmosphere. This is a first grade Mexican restaurant that I will be sure to come back to many many times. Glad I tried it.

So delicious! Great food, great service, everything was wonderful. The vibes were there with the music and overall cozy casita look. Definitely recommend if you're in Ocala!

One of the best Mexican Food, or Tex-Mex options in Ocala. I am delighted to introduce to you, My Quate. Thanks to my dutiful and ever so faithful hubby who encouraged me to eat out again after a disappointing jaunt to another restaurant that shall not be named, I mustered up the courage to try My Quate yesterday and boy, did it deliver. For one, the wall mural outside facing the parking lot of Frida Kahlo was a beautiful touch/addition and upon entering, I was greeted with Julieta Venega's "Me Voy", which clued me in that I was in for a treat. Starting with the house salsa, it was mighty tasty and reminded me of another delicious restaurant, El Mezcal. However, what set My Quate apart are their drinks, salsa verde, and guacamole mix - and of course the main dish, Quesadilla - Beef a La Mexicana. Starting first with the drinks - I ordered tamarindo and Hubby ordered Orchata. The Tamarindo slushy was the best that I have ever had - and that's saying a lot. While I've never had it in slushy form, it dawned on me as I was having it yesterday that it was the perfect delivery. The drinks packed a delightful punch and I can see it exceedingly satiating after a hot day - and it tastes like a mangonada (where you can find at La Michoacana). The Horchata was also smooth, and sprinkled with cinammon on top. The drinks were extremely enjoyable, and I look forward to having it again soon. Next, we have the Quesadilla - Beef a la Mexicana. Truth be told, I've never tasted this dish before, and it did not disappoint. It was original, authentic, and an interpretation of the owner's rendition of the quesadilla - where the beef was juicy (as it appeared to have been made as a stew with savory spices, onions, jalepenos and carrots). On top of that, the melted cheese along with the lightly crusted tortilla appears to melt in your mouth was extremely delicious. My hubby ordered 3 taco plate with grilled chicken, ground beef and shredded beef. It too, came out delicious and left me excited to try their shredded beef plates. The hostess came out often to check on us and to make sure that we got the best service possible, while also recommending the fish and shrimp soup. All in all, this is a restaurant that knows good food, and how to serve it. We left content and looking forward to coming back to enjoying some good food.

Right across the street, is Cantina. We decided to give it a go. They have specials every night. We went on a Thursday, so the special was 3 tacos and a house margarita or Mexican beer for $15 dollars. It comes with unlimited chips and salsa also. They exclude a few taco types but almost all of them are included. I had the birria, shrimp and asada. Other people at our table had the ground beef and chicken ones also. They were all delicious. The house margarita was yummy and not watered down. Really hard to beat $15 for a meal and a drink. Also, our server was fantastic and highly attentive. When we were getting ready to leave, live entertainment was getting started. They had a wonderful performer singing Christmas music. The decor is modern, dimly lit with a wall of windows, looking out on the center of downtown Ocala. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. My only minor complaint was that the bathroom was really dark, but still no real problem. I will definitely go back and check out some of the other specials. Honestly, I should have bought a gift card here instead of Harry's. The food was delicious and the restaurant wasn't nearly as loud and frenetic.

This place should be killing it given the location but OMG...this has got to be worse "Mexican food" we have ever tried. And again OMG...the house margarita is straight up sweet and sour mix. My husband ordered enchiladas and it looked like they dumped a whole can (because I know it wasn't fresh) of sauce over them...it was dripping off the plate. I ordered fajitas and I have NEVER seen fajitas come to a table with no sizzling...they didn't even have a smell. They had absolutely no flavor. I feel like this place has so much potential given the location but it clearly needs new management and definitely new cooks. We thought we would salvage the dining experience with a piece of chocolate cake to go...again OMG the tiniest sliver of cake for $10.00. There are too many great restaurants in Ocala to waste another penny on this place.

We…read morearrived at 7:30 and many diners had completed their meal and were leaving with to go boxes in hand. That indicated to me plentiful portion sizes- a plus. The entry was clean, well decorated, and well staffed. It was too small to handle all the leaving, arriving, and pickup traffic but there was seating inside and out. At any rate, our wait was short. We were shown to a comfortable table, promptly greeted, and provided with a basket of hearty corn chips and a great salsa- just a little spicy but also mild enough for my husband's tender palate. Angel was our server and she was great: attentive, pleasant, and informative. We ordered two appetizers:,mofongo and chichirrones. Both were great. The avocado sauce accompanying the mofongo was very flavorful, bright and tangy. The pork was well seasoned and had crispy and tender bits without and excess fat. It was just right. My daughter ordered the reine (white flaky fish with yellow rice and black beans), my husband had beef quesadillas with rice, and I had the chicken and shrimp Monterey. The fish was new to us all and was very good- like hake or cod. I don't know how mine tasted- I ate too much of the appetizers to have any room. But two of the 7 (!) to go boxes were just mine and we will ALL dine well tonight, too. An added bonus, while there, I learned that they made Sancocho (a delicious soup/stew/heaven in a bowl) on Saturdays. SOOOOO, we placed a pick up order for two large containers and the desserts we couldn't justify last night- carrot cake and flan. There's no doubt we'll go back. Paella and fajitas are at the top of my list but I suspect that the entire menu will be worth a try. We have lived all over the country as well as traveled and often found good Mexican food hard to find. We are thrilled to know Latinos y mas is in oca
