Absolutely spectacular food. Ambience is what you would expect from a typical Mexican restaurant. The only problems that I had was service. Unfortunately I came in for a late lunch which was evidently just in time for their shift change. A woman came up to the table and asked if we were ready to order which we said yes, but nodded and walked away, and she never ended up going back. After a while, we went up to the register and ordered there. While they were all kind and the food was wonderful, I'm afraid I was out of luck when it came to service. I would still go again though. Spectacular nachos.

The slice cheese in my cheese enchilada.

Trash! The food here is horrible, the chips were very hard, the asada tacos were nothing but fat, and my cheese enchilada was a corn tortilla with unmelted slice cheese and ranchero sauce. They claim to authentic but Taco Bell is more authentic than Pepe's. Truly sad!!!

This place has the most authentic Mexican food I've had in Florida. The staff were super friendly, kind, and gracious. There food was amazing all of the tortillas and chips are made in house! We were at WEC for a horse show and ended up going twice in the same weekend. It is definitely one of my spots and go to's when traveling through Ocala.

Caso was great I like my salsa a bit spicier

Out showing homes took a lunch break and found Pepe's Mexican Store and decided to give it a shot. Glad we did it was very good authentic Mexican cuisine, with great service and good atmosphere. I loved my tacos and I left fullll. Also very reasonably priced for what you get..

    Burrito A La Mexicana

The burrito was fantastic, really well seasoned and an incredible portion size for the price. I knew it didn't come with sauce so I added queso thinking it'd be a cheese sauce but instead they just gave me slices of cheese? The maduros were good even though they were overcooked and the flan was a bit more eggy with a bite to it instead of a smooth custard (probably over cooked as well). Still enjoyed the flavors of everything save for the cheese which I'm not sure what to do with now...

Ok so this place blew my mind. It's out in the middle of nowhere and when u pull in your a little confused thinking your walking into a grocery store but dam don't let that fool u. Just make your way over to where the good smell is coming from the kitchen and have a seat in one of the few tables and a sweet lady will swoop in and take your order. I haven't had a tamale in years so I for sure wanted one of them & I ended up ordering the enchilada supreme with double rice. The food here is for sure authentic and BLOWS the chain restaurants out of the park. I'm still shocked to how good the food was but if your wanting some good mexican I highly recommend this location. I'm pretty sure it's all ran by one family. The bakery looked nice and clean as well as all the breads and pastry's they have for sale . The market was jam packed with all types of food and they even have fresh produce. AAAA++++ Awesome place

Quesadilla Gigante with steak. I ate half of it before I decided to snap the pic!!

Went to Pepe's for the first time in 5-6 years. It looked identical to the first time I visited but well kept and smelled clean and yummy. We sat ourselves in a booth near the wall and were greeted immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and spoke English for me as my husband could converse in Spanish but I'm not as well practiced. She brought out fresh warm chips and salsa asap. The chips were slightly over done but still tasty. We order queso dip, the pepe's taco platter with steak, and the quesadilla gigante with steak. The food came out hot and quick. No complaints about the food, it all tasted fresh and great. Nice portion sizes. My husband's beans were a little runnier than he likes but they weren't terrible. Overall you cannot beat the prices here and the service was friendly and quick. We will be back :)

Beef chimichanga, chicken super burrito, pork tamales

Shout out to Pepes Mexican Restaurant & Store ordered takeout for the first time. Totally worth it! Beef chimichanga, chicken super burrito and 1/2 dozen pork tamales. Everything was amazing and flavorfulFull bellies and left overs for $26. Will definitely be back to check out the market side there was so much to see didn't have time to shop.

Good food for the price. Chips were burnt. Food wasn't very hot. It was interesting to see a restaurant inside of a small convenience store.

Located in a strip mall anchored by a Roses Discount Store, the place looked dark from the outside and the "Open" sign didn't appear to be lit but we knew they were open because of various Open yard signs in front of the establishment. Upon walking in, we were seated right away and presented the menu. They have daily specials but they didn't have pernil, although they had lechon asado like most of the Cuban/Latin American restaurants we've tried in the area. I ordered the lechon asado which came with yellow rice, fried plantains and red beans. My wife tried their Midnite Cuban sandwich. The lechon asado was flavorful (but of course no crunchy skin) and the yellow rice was good as well. My wife's sandwich, however, was a disappointment! The roast pork had an off taste and was gristly...she had to remove that meat from her sandwich. I tried her roast pork and was thinking of sending it back but my wife just removed all the meat from her sandwich. Perhaps we'll be back but definitely not ordering the Cuban sandwich again. Lunch for 2 came out to just over $30 with tip.

Came here with no expectations but was pleasantly surprised at this place…read more Had a burrito bowl with the lime chicken and was shocked by all the different toppings you can add. Never seen this number of choices in a bowl from multiple types of jalapeño, onion, and fresh salsas. The actual chicken and rice were fairly average but the toppings made it. The portion was also significant, which is maybe expected given the price. The atmosphere is basically like a chipotle, so set your expectations accordingly. The folks behind the counter were very kind and patient. We came for an early lunch, so service was quick and easy. I could see it getting backed up during busier times so look into the online ordering if you're in a rush. If you're looking for a quick fresh bite at WEC, this place is a good quick option.

We followed the arrows directing us to Filo's but upon reaching the parking lot to the Equestrian Hotel, the arrows were nowhere to be seen. We must be close. Lo and behold, Filo's is just to the left of the hotel easily accessible from the parking structure next to it. It was a late lunch so there were no crowds. We checked out the menu and my wife opted for Mary's Taco Salad ($17.75) and I ordered the 3 Street Taco ($14). We also ordered tortilla chips and salsa ($7.25). Just like Chipotle, you order by the counter and choose whatever ingredients/toppings you want on your taco. Service was friendly and quick. My wife liked her taco salad and the sweet pork in it...but she felt it was a lot of food. I ordered 3 different meats for my tacos, carnitas, barbacoa, and carne asada. Of the three, I preferred the carne asada. Barbacoa came next and thought the carnitas were too salty. The 3 tacos were filling though. The chips and salsa weren't worth it. All in all, the food was OK but lacked value. If wanting some Mexican food, your best bet for better flavors and value would be outside WEC. Oh yeah, we found out from the workers there that the place was named after one of the owner's tortoises, whose names were Milo and Filo.
