Frida's is not your typical burritos and tacos restaurant. They of course have those (a wide variety) but they also have much more - more than quesadillas and chimichangas (which they also have.) Their menu book is literally a book with so many offerings. I was there for lunch and I tried the Rice bowl Tejano. Amazing!! Just delicious. Came with shrimps and chicken and beef which in themselves are already flavorful. But combined in one spoonful they perform a delicious symphony in your mouth! And those shrimps are not your teeny weeny might-as-well- not included them size either. They are fairly medium size! and the serving is generous - probably 4 or 5 in the bowl (Check the photo). And properly cooked too - not rubbery or tough but tender. The interior is surrounded with Mayan and Aztec influences on the walls - very colorful. The seats and booths are blue leatherette (so comfortable) that coordinates well with the patterned tiles on the floor. A designer look. The blue theme is carried into their clean restroom (men) with blue tiles on the walls. Excellent service rounds up the whole experience. Denisse was solicitous in checking what else I needed - but not obtrusive. Definitely a place I can frequent for there are many more to taste. Highly recommend this place specially those who think of Mexican cuisine as burritos and tacos only.

Found a terrific authentic-latin style eats!. Frida's. Yes, named after the beautiful artist. Rice was nice, tender not mushy and my beans were yummO (and I don't eat rice n beans out...i will from Fridas). Fresh and seasoned well. The steak taquitos were fabulous. Meal was fresh, hot yummy, served with smiles. Bring you family, your partners or your date, too. Lovely, colorful atmosphere. Way to go Fridas. I'll be back...with friends;D

Beautiful restaurant decor. Super open bright and fun. Big bar that has an inside and outside area. Patio as well for outdoor dining. Huge space with lots of tables and booths Great menu, all the options you would expect. Bar menu and options are huge. This place is ready for big business. Just opened not long ago. Everything is made fresh when ordered and you can tell. I grabbed a taco and a beer for lunch. I'm coming back for dinner tonight.

This was such a great meal... The service was impeccable! Just so attentive and friendly! Kept the refills coming! The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful. The flowers, the artwork, the tiling, and the outdoor seating was amazing. They had a beautiful bar that looked large and could see a lot of people. I highly recommend this place... I understand they just opened and I hope they are open for many years to come. The chicken tamales were out of this world! My sister had the rice bowl and it was amazing too!

Came for lunch and I had a feeling from the moment I stepped through the door that the food would be tasty. Tasty is actually a bit of an understatement. I got steak nachos and a passionfruit smoothie while my companion got taquitos and a modelo. Sooooooo good. The ambiance is a little loud music wise but you can still easily hold a conversation. The food and drinks were delicious and the menu is really nice option wise. I will definitely be coming here again.

We went on a Wednesday, where the special was fajitas for $5.99 - such a good deal. My husband got the steak fajitas and I got the camerones a la diabla. The chips and salsa were so good. The chicken and al pastor were my favorites and super flavorful. The house made green and red salsas really take everything to the next level. Both are fresh and bold. I also tried my husbands burrito and it was huge and so good, with the perfect ratio of rice, beans, and meat in every bite. He said the best he's had in florida so far. Do not skip the horchata either. It was excellent and the perfect complement to the food. Seating is a bit limited right now, but they are expanding next door soon, which is great to hear. You can really tell how much love goes into this place. I love Casita Luna and will absolutely keep coming back.

We placed our order then found a high table for two. We both like carnitas so I ordered the Carnitas Burrito and my wife tried their Carnitas Quesadillas. Our observations: 1. This place does NOT provide complimentary chips and salsa. What?!!! 2. Carnitas flavor was lacking in our opinion. We liked the seared tortillas but were underwhelmed by the flavor 3. Service was friendly and food came out fast enough 4. We didn't think the value was there. 5. Ample parking in front. All in all, our experience fell short of high expectations. We'll be sticking with La Hacienda. Lunch for 2 (just water to drink) came out to just under $35 with tip.

My #1 mexican restaurant in the Ocala area…read more As you know, and you can see, by the number of checkin's and reviews I write about mexican restaurants... that I have a thing for mexican food. It's probably because I have lived in California so long and also... I think I have an addiction to refried beans as well... (and black beans). When you workout, expend a lot of energy or have a long day of work.... refried beans are like a shot in the arm.... it gives you instant energy. Besides.... I on a no pasta, bread, pastries, dessert or sugary things diet...so that means... I focus on "how much protein I can obtain with just one meal". So Im a very protein focused person and I like to get my money's worth. La Catrina's sauces on things are spectacular. I love it! The food just tastes that much more interesting than it normally does. This is a feat and a half. It's difficult to make most mexican food interesting... we are all so used to it by now. Probably the only place you can go to get interesting and gourmet mexican food is Mexico City (so I've heard)......but out here in Ocala ??... this restaurant does a pretty good job. The service is great too
