Tonight was a very busy night. We have been here several times before and tonight was THE BEST SERVICE we have had since we've been coming. The food is always most excellent. We had two waiters waiting on us. One was Miguel. He was FABULOUS! I really enjoyed his table side manner. Great attention to detail, great personality and great smile. Very friendly and fast service! They come to your table with in 60 seconds with chips and salsa and to introduce themselves. The chips are delicious and were warm and seem homemade and fresh. The salsa is medium hot with excellent flavor which also seems homemade. The green salsa is tasty but mild. The other red salsa is a little more spicy and good flavor but I wouldn't call it spicy! If you order the green or other red salsa they do cost about 2 dollars more each. I feel the house salsa that comes with the food is best! I had the Mexican steak which was a ribeye. The flavor of the steak was amazing would give a 9.5 out of 10. Very tender steak outside of the fat. The refried beans were served barely warm however were tasty, a 7.2 out of 10. I did not care for the Mexican rice, rate it a 3.2 out of 10. The ambiance was very traditional Mexican with fiesta music playing in the background. My closest 23 friends and I had a great lunch recently before a show scheduled nearby. Our waitress was on point with so many people asking for our drinks - she did have some helpful assistants working with her who also had big smiles for the group. I ordered a taco salad minus the bottom bean layer due to my dietary limitations, and it came out perfectly delicious! One of my friends ordered the beef fajitas and it was the largest serving I've ever seen served, together with the best strawberry margarita. We haven't been to el Toreo in quite some time. We stopped in last night and were seated right away. As you walk in you can smell the warm toasty tortilla chips coming in the kitchen. We were seated right away and our waitress came over and took our drink order. Aracelis was her name dnd she was all smiles, very professional and explained items on the menu that were had questions about. She made our dining experience exceptional with outstanding service and attention. My wife and i decided to have the number 12 which was a burrito, enchilada and chili relleno. We chose grounds beef as main filling. The chips and salsa were amazing. Haven't had chips and salsa that good in i don't know how long. Then our food arrived and we were surprised as it was pretty quick. Ahhhhhh the aroma aroused my taste buds and we dove right in. My only regret was not taking a picture before eating like i normally do. Im sorry, i couldn't resist as the good was that good. I inhaled my good and my stomach and palate were extremely happy and full. My wife and i agree that this will be a regular place to dine as the food, atmosphere and service was exceptional. This evening I went to El Toreo with my dog and family to sit on the patio and eat dinner. Before I even made it to the patio, my dog was viciously attacked by another patron's dog and I was bitten in the process. I notified the manager to make him aware; the patron was clearly inebriated( after this incident he passed out in the bushes in front of the restaurant) and unable to contain his dog and, because of how vicious the dog was, I was concern for other customers. We could not verify that the dog was vaccinated so had to go through the process of notifying the police and animal control; both my dog and myself had broken skin but did not need medical attention, luckily. While we waited for the authorities, we ate dinner; I am a regular customer of the restaurant. Once the authorities arrived, we made it clear that we had zero intentions of pressing charges- or only concern was rabies vaccination verification. In the meantime, the police officer notified us that the restaurant manager had had two of his waitresses sign affidavits stating that we were lying and that the incident had never happened. This is a complete lie and it says a lot about a restaurant who 1) lies and 2) puts their employees in the position of lying. I will never give my money to another El Toreo restaurant ever again and I hope this review gives some insight into how they treat their loyal customers- and their loyal staff. It looked like a dumpling(about the same size), had no filling and maybe 1 bite of chili, the rest was doughy breading not even cooked all the way thru. I have never been served something that is not even in the realm of what it is supposed to be. Last week I went to El Toreo, and would highly recommend. The hostess sat us immediately as we walked through the door, and our waiter was funny, pleasant, and very efficient with taking our orders, bringing our food, and refilling drinks. I would absolutely recommend the Fajita Trio (chicken, steak, and shrimp) for two! Came out sizzling hot and the presentation was unlike anything I've seen before. All the staff wore their masks the entire time, and cleaned all the tables efficiently, my only takeaway is I had wish they had spaced us out a little more due to the pandemic and it wasn't as busy in the restaurant when we went so there was plenty of room.
