Really cool kinda hipster little place - not sure how long it's been around as there wasn't a listing on Yelp but I've now been here twice, once on a Saturday for brunch and once for wine and pizza with the girls!
For some reason it seems to always be pretty quiet when I go in - even though the area is invariably busy, this little place has its own atmosphere which feels like it's a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of the street. Old theatre seats add a funky, unique flair at the tables lining the walls while a fish tank set up above the door in a window-like fashion only adds to the eclectic décor. It's quiet inside but not stiflingly so, probably partially due to the wait staff who are nice but - possibly due to hesitant English at times - borderline shy with customers. Absolutely accommodating and kind though if you ask for anything (but you may need to)!
The food is great and, again, sort of unique in its own way as well! For one thing, we ordered coffees and both came with a fortune cookie (???) even though the restaurant itself is somewhat Italian themed. They are really proud of the special Mozzarella cheese they use - and justifiably so! It was lush on the calzone I got at brunch/lunch. Can't gush enough about it, and may I add that everything was OBVIOUSLY fresh - can't say the bread could have been baked more than 20 minutes previously!
The pizza is delicious (although not really that big) as well. What you should really do is hit them up in the evenings, they have a deal which includes wine and pizza and was the perfect meal to enjoy before heading out for the night, whether to a bar, pub, club, or even just home!
I wouldn't really brag about the brunch option - they only serve two, which is the picture I've posted (essentially a small Full Irish but without the pudding), and the vegetarian version of that picture. So if you're looking for Saturday brunch definitely pop across to Eden Grill or to one of the other brunch spots in the area.
All in all, nice little place, and still not well known enough to draw huge crowds so possible to have a nice relaxing meal in the midst of everything! read more
