I price shop all of the garden stores in the area, from Lowe's, Home Depot to Christiana's and more. Calloways has the best pricing for fuller, thicker herbs then anyone else in town their pricing on herbs are almost $2.00 less then Home Depot and or Lowe's these days, and they look so much better. Christiana's might be cheaper but the lack of thickness and fullness of their herbs are just putting you behind by a month or more. Trust me, go look. The organization at Calloways also just makes it easier to find the herbs and flowers quickly and easily compared to big box stores. The variety is unmatched at this location, Custer location and the North Plano location as well. I shop all locations as I look for the most beautiful flowers I can find. Calloways has come a long way over the decades. They have now become some of the most competitive flowers, herbs and vegetables specialists with great overall value. Your recollection of our conversation the day you provided the estimate left off a very important…read moredetail. You came out in early spring, to provide an estimate, when the sun rises further to the south (this area was shaded at that time) but as we get further into the summer the sun is further North (it's in full sun now). We talked about this! Being the professional landscaper, you should know how the seasons affect the sun/shade in planting areas with fences and structure nearby. In stead of making good on your mistake, you wanted to sell us other plants which we declined because we already paid you to landscape this area. You recommended what plants to plant! The repairs made on the pavers and underground drain is ugly. The pavers have a noticeable dip in them because you reset a small section rather than fixing it correctly. All the pavers should have been reset to slope away from the covered patio. After resetting the pavers, you did not fill in the spaces between the pavers. You would know this if you ever inspected your crews work but you've never been back since providing the estimate. You would have also seen the damage they did to our new gutters. And by the way, we are very pleased with the work our contractor did on our outdoor living space.

They have these craft DIY events 1st saturday of each month which is quite cool to host. However, the space is never enough. The staffers parking themselves at the table "checking" people in and providing paints can maybe use some training on how to add more work space? They're always just sitting there overly greeting people instead of trying to move the lines along quicker. A lot of useless stuff crowding the aisles as another reviewer alluded to. This review is solely for their landscaping design services based on the designer I worked with. I…read moreinitially started conversations with them in Fall 2025 and we developed a beautiful plan that included reshaping and expansion of my front flower bed. We also decided that late February was the better time for installation. Through these initial conversations, my designer was great. Easy to get a hold of, super nice and friendly and just very easy to work with. As we got closer to February, I decided I wanted to keep my flowerbed shape and size. Well, that meant my project was less revenue, and that's when service went downhill. I asked for a redesign to keep my flowerbed at its original shape and size. If expectations were set up front that it would take as long as it did to get the new quote, it wouldn't have been an issue but this designer consistently promised dates and deadlines that were never met - and I had to be the one to follow up every single time. When the designer finally responded to me (multiple texts and a couple calls just went unanswered), it was mentioned (for the first time) they have a dollar minimum and after I asked to leave my FB shape/size as is, I would be under that minimum. We were now just a few weeks out from my install date so I was very frustrated. I finally had to call the owner to complain about the continual promises for a new quote that continued to not get sent my way, and now this apparent minimum that was never mentioned previously. The owner was great and assured me I'd have the new quote within two business days and that he'd waive the minimum for me given my poor experiences thus far - and I finally received the new quote as promised. Install day came around and some of what was planted wasn't even what we agreed to in my quote. Now knowing what I know after working with a new nursery designer, some of what was planted shouldn't even be getting full sun which they are - so naturally, those aren't doing well and need to be replaced. I would think this is bare minimum for what a designer should know. Sometime after the install date, I reached out because I felt the FB looked too bare when I wanted it to look full (and I realize the plants still had a lot of growing to do). They agreed to add a few more grass plants along with additional ground cover to fill up space. All three grass plants died within days, and the ground cover looked so randomly placed, it looked like a child did it. Plus, The ground cover is supposed to be a shade only plant and has been getting full sun. This is in addition to the fact that they had to replace a skyline holly tree twice within just a couple months. And the new grass plants they added weren't even the same varieties as the others and looked wildly different in every way possible. After the second install where those additions were planted, I was really unhappy with it all. I repeatedly reached out to my designer to try to figure out a plan and it was pulling teeth AGAIN to get a response. I know people are busy, but there's zero excuse to not even take two seconds to send a text. There was at least two instances where they were supposed to come by to discuss issues and my disappointment with the finished work and completely no-showed, not even a text. If I did this more than once to my clients, I wouldn't have a job. She finally came by one afternoon to discuss a plan but at this point, I'd had too much disappointment and lost trust in this designer. I never received another quote as discussed (which sadly I didn't even expect to at this point), so I just gave up and called Calloway's and paid to work with a new designer. Sadly, I feel as if my project was simply too small for them to warrant decent customer service from the designer. I've attached several photos of my FB, which looks like work I could have done myself - or any other non-professional. It just looks terrible. The first several photos are after the first install, and the last are after the additions. Extremely disappointed, but I'll reiterate that the owner was great.

We've paid for "premium" service in the past and never really felt like we got it. With Blooming Colors, you can tell they care. The details, the cleanup, the way everything came together, it just felt right. Now our backyard is a place we actually want to spend time in again, which I didn't think I'd say a few months ago. Here's the story... Before purchasing, I made it crystal clear I needed HOA approval (as an "exception" because it's not on our approved landscaping list). On that lovely Saturday, the very helpful sales associate, Olivia, confidently assured me I'd get a full refund if the HOA didn't approve. No mention of store credit. No caveats. That promise (and my love for those two trees) was the only reason I agreed to move forward and let them hold the trees on my card. HOA said no. I came back expecting a simple resolution... and instead got a full rewrite of reality. Olivia wasn't there, and the staff immediately insisted there was "no way she would've said that." One employee chimed in, "I trained her myself," followed by questions about whether I "saw all the no-refund signs." The manager doubled down with, "I really don't believe she said that." All of this--despite having a witness that was standing next to me who heard the entire conversation. Let's call it what it was: not confusion... gaslighting. After things escalated, the owner came out, seemingly only after I mentioned disputing the charge. She agree to refund me--but not before trying to shush me, telling me to "be quiet or wait outside," and saying, "I'll refund your money and you can go buy your trees elsewhere." Nothing says "family business values" quite like dismissing a paying customer on the way out. The trees were beautiful, no doubt--but their integrity and respect wilted faster than a Texas agave in August. If you shop here, get everything in writing... because their word clearly doesn't take root. Better yet, don't.
