1:30 in the early afternoon midweek. Out of about 10-12 registers--4 of 6 self service are credit card. 2 are cash-occupied No clerked registers are open. YET 4 "workers" are standing together chatting. When they were asked if the regular registers were open, they go no end .2 the six self service... When Old needed a cash one they said they could help scan the one item I had when I got to a cash taking register.-- meanwhile a male worker walks up to chat with the three women and I said you would think getting the money from the shopper would be a priority, but I guess it is not. I hope they had a nice conversation together. read more

I've been shopping here since they first opened back in 2012. This is my first time back today in a while and Tommy surprise they don't have fitting rooms anymore. WTH happened? I asked a young lady if they had any and she said no, but that I could change in the isle. Does it make sense for an adult to change clothes in front of other people in the open. This is really upsetting because we're forced to buy things that may not fit how we want and they don't accept returns, only store credit. So either way, they're profiting off not having a dressing room. So beware the next time y'all shop there for clothing. Huge selection of used goods, right across the street from Marshall's, Half Priced Books, and other low-cost places, so you can splurge away on a multi-hour shopping trip. If you get here early, you'll have a great chance at finding gems. But even going in a bit late (like lunch time) can yield surprises. Be sure to join the rewards list, as you'll receive even more discounts. I've found a lot of high-quality clothes, with my current favorites being Ann Taylor and Banana Republic. They're often in great condition, and there are more items with their original tags than I expected. The women's jeans section has a lot of items with tags, and high quality ones at that. This is 4 stars, not 5 for a few reasons: - Lots of fast fashion - Some items are overpriced for what you can get them new (H&M and Forever 21 in particular) - In general, I think items can have a dollar or two knocked off their prices - Restrooms need to be unlocked by a staff member and aren't very clean - The thrift smell isn't as prolific compared to other thrift stores, but it's still there - No dressing rooms! Makes it hard to shop for more form-fitting clothes, so you'll have to wear tank tops and leggings to try things on in the aisles. read more

Lower your prices as they are high and keep raising to the point where a lot of items are priced close to what you'd pay for it new. Also, the weekly 50% off color tags are getting more and more rare. It could be they pull a lot of them to make them less available to the public. Also, suggest to raise your donation related coupons to 30%. Lastly, suggest being more transparent with your being more profitable than donating to charity. read more

Their customer service is terrible. They don't come to help you at the jewelry section till it's 8:00 and exactly around then even though you have been waiting for 10 mins or more they will say their jewelry section is closed cause it's closing. They also don't have a trial room, and they don't do refunds. So buying clothes here is a no go. Don't waste your time here. Ive had really positive experiences here in terms of donating and purchasing. Donating- Savers has been by far the easiest place to donate. You literally roll up in your car, pop your trunk and they wheel a bin over to you. They will even help you unload your car too if you ask for help. I haven't had any of my items turned down, but I also haven't donated anything like a TV(which I hear they don't take). I mostly donate clothing and houseware items. Sometimes you get a coupon afterwards too. Purchasing- It's a bit chaotic in there and disorganized sometimes. Every now and then I come across grumpy old ladies who think the whole store is theirs. I try to avoid them, and otherwise enjoy shopping there. The prices can be hit or miss. I've seen $7.99 on a old worn out tank top, and on contrary seen $13.99 on a awesome $100 camp table(that I definitely snagged up for my next camping trip). Shopping here is truly a scavenger hunt, and takes time. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're short on time. Bring hand sanitizer too, sometimes your hands get a bit grimy after shifting through clothing and items. It's definitely very exciting when you find good deals. I have a horrible experience here every time I go to drop off donations. I am providing them hundreds of dollars worth of items to resell for profit and the workers give attitude as I drop off, like I am bothering them by donating there. This place is so hard to donate to. Every time I'm here there's a long line around the parking lot. So inefficient. I tried to donate again today and was June for 15 min. Then I asked how long it's going to take since I was already 4th in line. The guy told me another 15-17 min. At that point I'm driving elsewhere to donate. read more

I'm giving a one star for the greediness of the store. This store has a stand still line of people waiting to donate. This place is making 1000% profit off of other people stuff...and they still have the nerve to set prices at ridiculous rates. There is absolutely no reason there should be clothing itens priced at $39, $40, $50++ this is not a department store. You are reselling clothing some unwashed with animal hair all over and still pricing items higher as if it were new from a department store. You now offer fewer checkers and more self check so less overhead expenses and still price ridiculously. You should be ashamed. Savers is a great place to shop if your on a budget. This store location is huge and offer a large veriety of items to chose from. They have housewares, toys, entertainment, electrical, baby items, furniture, jewelry, handbags, shoes, and clothing. They have a good book selection too. You can find most of your name brands here for a really good price. Once in a while you get lucky and find top designers brands too. Came in and went strait for the shoe and handbag departments. Found a cute black beaded evning purse that will look great with any outfit. It was in really good condition and it was less than $5.00. In the shoe department they had a good selection of brand name shoes but not the right size, bummer. However found a pair of snakeskin Sam Edelman flats in new condition. These shoes WERE on my wish list and I got then for $15.00 vs $140.00. Now thats a seal. Purshased 2 dresses with the tags still on them, all they need is to have the tags removed and to be laundered. Also founf a CHICOS jacket new for about $12.00, another steal. Downer, prices have increased. Dresses used to go for about $9.00 and now most of them start around $15.00. I also noticed higher priced in the shoe department. I know im still getting a great deal however the price increase is noticeable, especially at the register. Self check out is what you will find when ready to purshase your items. We need to scan and bag our items. Store has a price increase and now I have to be my ouwn cashier. Should I be getting an employee discount? Just a thought. read more

I loved my first visit here, so there was no question a second visit was to happen knowing I was gonna be around the area. I had my parental units in tow. I also had 3 different coupons, so I figure with three of us, I can make use of all three coupons. (I read them all carefully and there were no restrictions.) I explained this whole thing to the cashier, but he might have been new since he wasn't sure how or if this works. He calls his supervisor and off the bat, the supervisor said, "No, only one discount coupon per day per household." There are no such restrictions on both my $5 coupons. The same applies for my $2 survey coupon. So, I insisted. Long story short, I got it my way anyway, but not without a little drama. (It really was like pulling teeth.) While dealing with this whole thing, I was thinking my home Savers store would have given in without any problems. But we resolved it, that's most important... ... plus for whatever reason, we got an additional 33.3% discounts on all three purchases, so I'm not really complaining. I just wish that supervisor wasn't so condescending. I have plans on coming back, so here's hoping I never have to deal with her again. Still a great visit. read more

I have donated clothes, television set, etc in the past and stood in line with my car to donate items . Yesterday I had a small bag of things to donate and didn't see a line so I drove up to put the bag in their bin . Someone said you can't donate here, go get in that long line over their where cars are located . Hey I'm not purchasing things I'm donating! What ever happened to thank you for your donation. It's fine, the prices lately have at least been affordable. That being said this is a thrift store so they don't do returns under any circumstances. But their checking station to check if electronics work is currently out of order and it seems only clothes and something else are exchangeable. I'd bought something that didn't work less than 12 hours prior, explained it to the person on the phone and basically got a tough luck we only exchange these items you should've checked it first when their station to check is out of order... The only reason I wanted to return it was because of how much it costs but guess I paid $40 for a broken item that was given to them for free and I can't even exchange it. read more

It hurts to write this review but the prices have gone up INSANELY HIGH! Savers... you need to talk to whoever is in charge of pricing because you are losing customers. A tshirt should not be 7-10 unless it's some bougee brand. I've been coming to this location for years, it's on my way home from work so I used to stop by at least twice a week and now I may become once a month but will instead go to Eco Thrift all the way in Hayward(way out of my way). Others behind me were dropping off in bags, loose, etc. He focused on me and let everyone else slide The manager Kaley was passive and seemed uncomfortable dealing with the issue. usually everyone there is really nice. I've scored a few good items in the handful of times I've visited: 1) A beautiful large, matted & framed photo of San Francisco for $10. 2) A Le Creuset 9qt dutch oven (worth over $450) for $13 !!! I've also found small items here & there but those have been my major scores. The pricing can be a bit off & sometimes a bit too much for what the item is. I still like going to the other thrift store that's in Hayward because there are better items & prices are more reasonable (3 colors are marked down daily). read more

This Savers is huge! It felt like I was in a warehouse. I didn't really browse the clothing yet, but they had racks and racks of clothing. I did spend some time browsing the front section of books. They had a really nice selection and many of the books were in very good condition. The books were also relatively inexpensive. I was hoping to pick up a few copies but decided not to, but if I come back I'll browse the book section again for sure! read more

I love Savers. It's my go to thrift store. Always has been. You can refer to my old review of the Savers location in Milpitas, that sadly just like their other San Jose location, is closed down. Their other San Jose location, Redwood City and this location are the only ones open now in the Bay Area. I've picked up a lot of great things here. With a coupon and without. Their book selection usually never disappoints but you'll catch me browsing through the puzzle and game boards section more often than not. This section is a gold mine if you have the patience to sift through the madness. I've gotten brand new games for under $5. That's a steal! The staff here are relatively nice. I always try my best to ask them how their day is going when I'm checking out. (You do have the option to do self checkout but that just gives me too much anxiety when I've picked up too many items) I will second the other reviewers saying that some of the staff that put away items from bins and carts during store hours get really territorial about it. They'll either not so kindly tell you to not touch the bins or rack until they've been put away or tell you to please wait to look at the items until they're out for the taking. The latter is more rare. I am a patient person and honestly I do not like to bother the staff that does this but there have been times when I've mistaken a rack for one that's not been put away yet only to be chewed out by a worker telling me they have to put it out first. So overall this Savers is a solid 4/5 stars. I'd go more often if I didn't move out of the area but I still try to make it out here at least once a month. read more

Located in one of the newest plazas with plenty of parking spaces, this is a pretty huge thrift store and well-organized! Too bad this one is far from my home, otherwise might be here regularly to check for antiques and other stuff (maybe paintings, furnitures and other home decors). I think I like this Savers family of thrift stores better than Goodwill, Hope Chest, or Salvation Army, etc. because they just seem to organize their stores better! read more

Love thrifting, I'm all for it but the prices here are getting outrageous. Their prices for jeans and shirts are a few dollar below Ross or Marshalls prices. Although, Ross clothing does not come with stains or an unpleasant odor. I actually refuse to donate here after seeing jacked prices. Try donating on the good use app first to find people who actually need clothing. Instead of dumping it here for free, thinking you're helping a cause, but in return they sell your items for their own profit. Shame on Savers management. One of the biggest thrift stores in the area. Prices can be a hit or miss when it comes to used items you're purchasing. I found a new with tag new balance shoes for much more less than how much they sell it in the shoe store. I came here particularly for household items and decors and found some that I was looking for. You have to sometimes check what you're purchasing as some items here are either damaged or missing things it comes with. But hey that's just half the fun of thrifting. The people that worked here were helpful and friendly. I haven't had the opportunity to donate here so I don't have any experience on how they handle things with this process. I love thrifting and finding things whenever I'm in this place. I kept coming back whenever I'm in the area. read more

It's been a couple months since I've been over there. This is mostly to point out a few things. 1) There's a website, you can look up what is acceptable to donate. Call if you're unsure. It looks like the list is general and not tied to particular stores, and it says for example "small furniture". I frequently see sofas in there, so it depends on space. 2) The current donation process is due to fire access (vehicles used to just line up along the curb). I don't like it either since it also blocks a couple rows of parking spots, plus the inability to walk up with 1-2 things, but that basically constitutes cutting in line and interrupts the process. Go when it's less busy. Everybody seems to go on the weekend, earlier in the day. If it's too busy, go have frozen yogurt or do some in-area shopping, and go back a little later. 3) They recycle the clothing/fabrics/shoes that aren't in good enough condition to sell (I called to see if they'd take leather hiking boots that couldn't be resoled, and they said they do--three pairs!). I save up things like that in a bag and then mark it for recycling, but they do sort through the donations. It's easier to do it yourself though since having to go through socks or whatnot to see if there are holes takes a while. Rags should be clean, obviously, especially if they've been used with whatever chemicals can be washed out. If that's questionable I dispose of them in a responsible way. 4) I haven't found anything I want (mostly certain pieces of furniture, nature books) or need in a while, so haven't been able to use the discount coupons you get for donating. However, I've seen and purchased some unique things there. I've also missed a couple pieces of furniture that I really liked, but they were already marked Sold. There are also items that are old/vintage (certain cables/cords, for example) that might be hard to find because they don't make them any longer, but that you need. I have gotten at least one piece of clothing. For certain things, I shop used because I don't care about fashion trends and won't buy "fast fashion" that just gets thrown in a trash pile somewhere in another country (usually one with far fewer resources) if it doesn't get sold. I want what I need or want when I want it, and whatever it is usually isn't available new. 5) If there's something that you think is overpriced for its condition, ask a manager. There was an upholstered storage bench, I'm guessing one of the less-expensive ones judging from the materials used. But it went with the chair I had in the front room, and it would be useful. But a couple of the loops on the two seat cushions that sit on top were not attached on one side. I thought it overpriced because of that so sought out a manager to show/ask for a lower price. She agreed, and it was an acceptable price. 6) If you go at a really busy time, think about what it's like to deal with customers all day, and whatever moods they may be in, before you take your unhappiness/anger/bad mood out on the workers (especially if its something out of their control). They're human beings with feelings too, and we really don't need to be giving more crap to one another these days. read more

The best place to donate your used items. Point blank. I have been coming here to donate items for 5+ years. For one, no questions asked! You pull up in your car to the entrance, park at the curb, empty out your belongings in one of their bins, and you're on your way. Check their website prior to arriving, as there are some items they don't take (like TVs), but for the most part, they'll take anything. It is like your local "dumpster," except you know the items are going to a good cause. I have donated old bikes, electronics, Christmas lights, roller blades, board games, toys, stuffed animals, kitchenware, you name it! So much easier than donating at other places because you don't have to call to make an appointment or get pre-approval. The only downside is that there is usually a pretty long line to donate, but the line moves quickly (maybe 10-minutes wait tops). Also check their hours as you can only donate when they are open. read more

This is for the drop off donation. - Follow the queuing line signs. This usually wraps around the parking lot on a busy day. Your best bet is going on an off-time so you can drive in and out with little wait time. - Once you get towards the front, there's an attendant who will let you know when to move up and in what position. There's about (4) drop off spaces in front of the donation center. - The attendant will hand you information for receipt information (it's can be downloaded and printed online for tax purposes). - Once you get to your spot, there's a large green bin. Fill up your bin and once you are done, you are good to go! read more

Came here with my niece and her friend. While I looooove to thrift, I wasn't feeling a 100% so I didn't browse much. Though, I did find a cute pair or white striped Anne Klein pants for work, only $6! That made me happy. My niece and her friend found some really cute stuff and had fun shopping around. Good selection of everything, though I will agree that the book prices are a little high. They also need to figure out a better system for their donation drop off, because the line of cars in front of the store is very inconvenient and unsafe for cars/pedestrians trying to get through that area. read more

Positives: -I've bought a few cheap VCRs here -DVDs are about $2-3 and their selection isn't bad -They have tons of clothes -It's HUGE and prices are pretty low Negatives: -it's a bit dusty inside -usually crowded -can be messy and disorganized -the donate line can get long I like it's location in downtown dublin so it's convenient to swing by when I'm doing my other shopping. read more

I only recently started coming to this Savers and there's a lot of great things about this store, along with a few bad. They do maintain saftey measures but I'd double-mask to be safe, or come early when there are less people. The store is well organized and everything is sectioned off in sizes. You're immediately welcomed by a large selection of books and movies on your right and then there's the neverending aisles of clothes to your left. Props to the workers for keeping every aisle clean and well stocked! Now for the down side, there's this heavy stale stench that flows through the store and the clothes. Given, these are used, it isn't pleasant to shop for a long time as you inhale this scent. The other issue is the pricing. Isn't the main point of this store to 'save'?? Why are items being priced over $20?? I'm finding two items under the same brand being priced $3 and then the other is $21! Nonetheless, I still recommend coming here. Give yourself at least an hour or two to properly go through the aisles so you don't miss out on any great finds! I got a couple zara and georgio armani items for under $10! read more

I thought dollar tree items marked for $4.99 was bad but this one takes the cake...2 rolls of toilet paper bagged together & marked $3.99! Are you serious right now??? This is a for-profit company selling items that were donated, 100% free to them & this is how they price almost everything!! Throw in a couple more bucks & go to a REAL store that sells clothes that don't smell funky or have stains on then. Hell, in some cases it's cheaper brand new!! I'll stick to eco-thrift.
