I can't say enough about the entire team at the VCA Bakersfield Harris rd. location. From start to…read morefinish, the customer service was exemplary. We were dealing with an emergency situation with our 18-year-old fur baby, and they went above and beyond to help make sure we could get in when we needed it most. Everyone we encountered was kind, professional, and compassionate during such a difficult time. A special thank you to Dr. Blair (I hope I'm spelling the name correctly), who delivered the inevitable bad news with such care and understanding. As heartbreaking as the situation was, Dr. Blair gave us the facts we needed in a way that was honest, gentle, and not overwhelming. That compassion made an incredibly painful moment a little easier to process. I hope you get to see her when you have to visit the hospital...Otherwise I hope you never have to take your pet to any hospital. We are so grateful for the support, empathy, and dignity they showed both our pet and our family. Thank you Dr. Blair for helping us move forward with love and clarity during one of the harder moments we will face. Last note : Arrive early for any walk ins. We arrived at 730 and were the last to be seen.Luckily we arrived as the last walk in this day..

Dr. Takata shared her findings from lab work and ultrasound which showed our dog was not clotting, had a dangerously low blood count, and an opaque bladder ultrasound. Possible cancer. We made the difficult decision to stop treatment and say goodbye to our girl. They were caring throughout the process. I imagine it is difficult for the staff as well as us. Thank you Dr. Takata and the staff at VCA.
