This is my first time in a few years getting them groomed there since our groomer moved and I won't be returning. I love the job they do on my 2 dogs with bathing and grooming, but the dogs come home with a lingering odor of cat pee clinging to their fur sometimes. The shop could really do with a lot of pet urine remover but the odor might be in the walls. I would give 5 stars if not for the odor involved. read more

Ex-customer have been boarding my dogs here for 6 years. NEVER AGAIN! DO NOT BOARD HERE! My family and I boarded our pets hete while traveling Internationally. EVERY TIME we boarded previously, we ALWAYS arranged to pick up our pets the day after our return. When we booked, an older woman working there informed us that "there is no record our dogs had ever been boarded there, so they did not have our pets' vaccination records." As a result, the day before our flight, we had to scramble and find a vaccination clinic able to revaccinate them to get the required records. I then showed our flight itinerary to prove our return date, 1/11/24, and told them that we will pick our pets up on 1/12/2024. They created new files for our pets to replace their missing files, which took longer than we anticipated, and when they did they listed our return date as the pick up date. I didn't catch that before signing the contract, as I was stressed about our schedule from the time wasted getting new vaccines, and also focused on paying the $1,030 fee and getting a receipt. During our trip, I was hospitalized the day before our return flight due to pneumonia, and had to travel against medical advice. Our flight from Singapore to Tokyo was delayed, which in turn delayed our flight from Tokyo to LAX. Baggage claim took so long that we almost missed our shuttle back to Lancaster, and had to beg them to wait for us. Baggage claim then informed us that two pieces of our luggage were missing, making us even later by filling out paperwork for that. While all of this was happenining, I received a phone message from a man at The Grommery telling us that our pets "were ready for pickup." I was confused, because I had informed them on boarding that our pickup date was the 12th. I called and explained that our flight had just landed at LAX and we were having trouble with Baggage Claim. The response was, "Ok." I then called back and asked why they are ready for pick up today, when we booked the 12th as our pickup date. I was informed that the contract I signed showed a "return date of 1/11." I said yes our return date is today, but our pickup date is tomorrow. The man put Tammy, the owner on the phone, and I said thete seems to be a miscommunication on our pick up date, and reminded her that I had shown our flight itinerary with our return date on it, and told them that we would pick up on the next day. She rudely informed me that there was no miscommunication on their part because our signed contract shows a return date of 1/11. She then proceeded to tell me there would be a "late pick up fee", a "return to kennel fee" and additional boarding fees. PER PET. ( We had boarded three pets.) I said that we have been long time customers and there was obviously a miscommunication and said that I felt they should give us some leeway on this given the delays were unexpected and we felt that we had properly communicated our pick up date. She continued that the mistake was not theirs, and if we didn't pick our pets up by 4:30 they'd be returned to the kennel and the fees would be due at pickup. It was now 12:45, and we had missed our shuttle pickup time of 12:30, so with the next shuttle pick up at 3:30, we would not have been there in time so I angrily hung up. Luckily the shuttle driver had been informed of our delays, and had been kind enough to wait for us. We arrived in Lancaster at 2:45 pm, instead of the original arrival time of 2:15, and immediately booked an Uber to get home from there. The Uber app sent the driver to the wrong address, so getting that sorted out toom more time. We got home, dropped our luggage, and drove 90 mph to The Grommery to get our pets. We arrived at 3:15, and we greeted with, "Oh, we were just getting ready to take them back to the kennel." So, they weren't even going to honor the 4:30 time they had just told me. I did not confront them because there was a young kid in their office, but I was furious. Tammy was oblivious, and tried to gush over how well-mannered our cat was and how EVERYBODY loves her. i responded, I want my dogs. Now." The man brought them out one at a tine and I put them in the car. As I picked up the second one, he gave two dog treats for them. Yeah, a compliment and two dog treats makes up for everything.... Riiiggghhhttt. I put the half bag of dog food in the car while my wife got the cat food. No apology, no concern, no empathy.... complete assholes! My notification to them that I would never be back was burning rubber as I left the parking lot. We got home only to find that one of our dogs gas kennel cough. Which they did NOT inform us about, and they had not provided any medical care for while he was in their "care". DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. They only care about not taking responsibility for anything but themselves. And money. You pets life and health and you sanity will be at risk if you take your pets here! Would give negative rating if possible. read more

I do not recommend this place at all. The owner is very rude. She will not call you back. I called 4 times during hours with no answer. I left a voicemail and requested a callback to discuss the status of my dogs and never received a callback. When I finally got the owner on the phone, she confirmed she received my message but never called me back. They do not offer an after hours emergency contact number. Her boarding facility is not on site and that was not communicated. She drives your dogs to a different location and brings them back. At the Groomery, they are stuck in tiny cages all day in a chaotic environment. Our flight was cancelled and rescheduled. I could not get in touch with them after hours so she charged me a $25 fee to "transport" my dogs again on the next day. This was not anywhere in the contract I signed and only came up when I FINALLY got in touch with her before they closed. Also, they do not allow you to pickup your dogs on Sunday. I am not able to afford professional grooming for my dog (she is low-maintenance anyway!), but my sweet dog was lost a few days ago, and this wonderful groomer saw her and brought her in. When I posted a Facebook ad on our town's Community page, they responded within 10 minutes and I got her back all safe and sound! First time here. I boarded my husky and my Sheppard for a week over the holidays, when I picked them up they used a whole container of their food in the one week ... My dogs don't go through that much food in a month .. so they obviously used my dogs food for the other animals and it's quite expensive since my dogs are allergic to corn they eat a special diet. Also got them groomed before pick up and the groom was good. But the building smells so bad of cat pee I get grossed out going in. The whole front shop area is filthy. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. My fiancé took our dog here for a bath and a cut. She dropped her off at 8:15 am. Around 1:00 pm she hadn't heard back so she called to check. They told her they haven't had a chance to cut her hair yet and they would call once she was done. Apparently they did not have the correct phone number on her file (even though they have called my fiancé before and she had just called a couple hours prior) and they left a message on a phone I didn't have access to while I was at work. The last message they left stated that our dog will be ready for pickup at 8:00 am the next day and we are now responsible for a boarding fee. After a lot of research we were able to track down the owner's (Tammy) phone number. Look at the screenshot of the rude response. I called her immediately after I received that message just to receive her rude response over the phone. She then proceeded to tell me that we have to pay for the boarding fee if we want her to release her tonight. When I stated I didn't think that was fair she then threatened us with "well I guess you can pick her up tomorrow". I reluctantly agreed to pay the boarding fee over the phone since my dog was now being held hostage. These people do not love animals, please do not bring your pet here. And just FYI their boarding was locking my dog in a cage for 16 hours in the dark. Just ridiculous!!!! read more

The staff is absolutely rude. I would rarely receive calls when my dog was ready. They keep your dog caged all day, I'm talking 9am to 3pm no potty walks, nothing. I've given several chances cause I've known others to say they like them. They ignored me every single time I'd come to drop off or pick up my dog as well as not even a little bit listen to how I'd like him groomed. My final straw was the rudeness last visit as well as I had to get my dog re groomed somewhere else because who knows what they did, but he was dirty and scruffy the next day (he's an indoor dog). We LOVE The Groomery!!! We have been steady customers for two years. Our (huge!!) dogs cannot wait jump out of the car to go see Laurie. We have two Great Pyrenees, one of which is a recent rescue. When we brought her home, she was mangled, matted, stinky, and anti-social, just a mess!! Laurie helped us get her coat back in shape, and Sam had gotten very used to being spoiled and pampered now. Don't ever ever ever use the groomers in rosamond!!!!! I get that Penelope doesn't like baths and can be a brat. But I wouldn't let that girl from there touch me either. The front desk staff is friendly enough, but the chick who does the cat baths is another story. When I dropped her off at 9 am front desk told me there were notes in her chart saying she won't be blowed dried. The girl who does it gets nasty . She snarls " I'll see what I can do but no promises, I don't make promises when it comes to cats!" I felt uneasy leaving Penelope there. Shook it off and left. 130 I get a call. 4 AND A HALF HOURS later I get a call saying they couldn't give her in a bath. Again with bitch in the background bitching about cats. Had many high hopes for this facility. Unfortunately we visited this place with our dog once and will not be returning. The areas where the dogs are kept are extremely dirty/unsanitary and the whole building smells horribly. Some of the ladies that work there were nice and then there were a couple that weren't at all. They do not require proof of vaccinations for dogs/animals being groomed, (only if your dog is boarding) which made me extremely nervous; every other groomer will (and should) ask that you bring this information in regardless. My dog's haircut was less than par, but I found that to be the least of my worries. Plan on your fur baby spending 5-6 hours minimum here as well, as the front desk rep and the other groomers reassured us (after they saw my look of surprise) that this is normal for every dog they treat for grooming; typically, 3-4 hours is the normality for most other places. Lastly, you must specify what kind of hair cut your dog gets. We were told by The Groomery that when people don't give exact details of what they want their dog's hair to look like, their protocol is to completely shave the dog - scary for those who have no idea what the certain names and styles of dog cuts are. read more

This place is amazing. Our baby is a St. Bernard, and the owner takes such good care of him while he is there! When we tell him he is going to get a bubble bath, he gets really excited. We cant take him out anywhere usually where other dogs are, because he becomes very aggressive, but while he is at The Groomery, he walks around with other dogs, no problem. They always do a great job with him, and are very reasonably priced!! We highly recommend! read more

The Groomery does a great job taming my fur baby's mane. Be prepared to drop your pet off in the morning and pick him/her up in the afternoon. Since my pet had an early morning appointment, I was planning to wait around until I found out how long the wait would be. When I dropped my dog off it was in the morning and I thought maybe it was just because it had been closed up all night, nope, when I went back in the evening, same horrible smell. It was so strong it almost made me gag. It was absolutely disgusting. I understand it is a place where there are a lot of dogs, but Ken Neill Kennels in Palmdale grooms a lot of dogs too and always smells fresh and clean. I would never take my dog back. read more
