Unfortunately they have really gone down hill. I've brought all my animals here my entire life and my last two visits have been nothing short of a disaster. Doctors are great, people answering the phones are rude and short, and staff seems extremely stressed and run thin, which is being taken out on the patients. Called to try and get an appointment today, was on hold for 7 minutes and before I could even say who my dogs were lady says "we can't help you" and hangs up. I took my dog here for about 1.5 years during our stay in the AV. There are not a lot of options in the area and Dr. Greg was the best choice all things considering. He is attentive, kind, and good for the usual routine check ups. When it came to things beyond regular check ups it was out of his scope so we went to Pasadena and San Fernando for more specialized things per his recommendation. I appreciated the honesty in admitting he was unable to treat rather than upsell us on more visits to him. As for the staff, they are hit or miss. There is a front desk person that is not very pleasant and it is not just a once or twice incident - she is what I would call a repeat offender. Not very friendly, minimal niceties, impatient. When working in a veterinarian's office there is a degree of compassion and level of customer service one needs. You are dealing with people's sick pets, after all - have some manners. If you are unable to smile or practice basic manners then maybe this is not the right career for you. So disappointing. The nail trim prices are insane. It comes out to 43 dollars + but on the bill it says the trim itself is $21. I asked why is it more than double and was told that when you call to book a nail trim, the trim is 21 and the additional is to book the nail tech. It is the most ridiculous thing ever. I took our dog there and paid this ridiculous price because we don't have better options in the area. These are more than LA and NYC prices and unacceptable, guys. So sum it up, I recommend this clinic if you need to take your pet in for routine check ups, updated shots, etc. I think Dr. Greg is a nice man and hope he takes some of the things I wrote into consideration for growth. Your staff is the face of your business; the first thing the owners' of your patients see and they deserve better customer service. The nail trim price is befuddling and way too high for the area - I can see why some other reviews accused your clinic of hidden fees or being greedy/sneaky. Hopefully this misstep can be remedied. Some honorable mentions: Sammy is another front desk person (that we always hope to get to deal with when we are there) and is wonderful. She is knowledgable, empathetic, patient and overall just a great person. Ryan is one of the vet techs and is one of the most caring techs we have worked with hands down. I've been taking my dog here for the last 3 years because it's the most reviewed place in Lancaster and this is what I'll say -- this is the most money hungry vet I've ever come across. After Covid peak, I took my dog in for a checkup and the vet wouldn't even touch her. Had me opening her mouth, checking her joints, etc. Asked me what I saw, I told them and then he said welp, she looks good. Charged me $60... come to find out when I took her somewhere else that she had joint issues and needed meds. They also charge $50 to get my dog's nails trimmed (yes, I get it. She needs to be held down).. found another place that only charges me $30 to do it.. and they actually clip her nails. The last two occasions I took her to this vet, the vet techs forgot her Dewclaws.. OH and don't let me forget, they charge you a $20 hidden fee for making your appointment over the phone because it "takes the vet tech's time".. give me a break guys. After Hurricane Hilary, I called because I found 4 3-week old feral kittens in the storm.. wanted to take them in for checkups and meds. They were going to charge me $58 per kitten for a checkup... I found another vet closer to LA that would only charge me for meds and is willing to help me TNR the colony. This was the nail in the coffin for me, I'm not taking my dog here ever again. read more

I've been coming to this vet office the last few years and they were always accommodating to try to get my dogs in when there has been a problem but in the last 3 months this isn't the case. Our older dog had a skin tag that ripped off and he kept bleeding on and off we called on day 2 of his bleeding and explained the situation they told me the couldn't see him for over a week later then our younger got a major cut on her shoulder area once again i called because this their vet and the other place charged me $2200 to take care of the older dog and told nope they couldn't see her they are all booked up for the next 3 days so went to the other vet got an appointment same day and she had to have stitches and drains put it time to find a new vet who will see your animal when the problem is happening read more

This is the regular clinic for two of my six dogs. They have done a great job managing chronic conditions in both of these dogs one for the eye and other other pancreatic inflammation. I appreciate the fact that they called in two prescriptions for my dog which was time consuming for them and they did not make money from that. The clinic is extremely well run, clean and they actually listen to you. I love Dr. Greg and the techs. I wish they were open more hours but I understand that burnout is real and that they are probably there longer hours past their posted hours. This is really only one of two regular clinics in the AV that I am comfortable taking my pets to. I generally do whatever they recommend because Dr. Greg will tell me if something is not necessary. As a former RVT, I am very impressed with this clinic. I cannot always afford to bring my pets here but when I can, I do. I would rate Dr. Greg as an excellent diagnostician for internal medicine issues. He is very thorough, and provides clear explanations. I recently brought my dog in and she will probably be having an ultrasound. My regular vet wanted me to go to Woodland Hills but I found out he has a specialist come in to do ultrasound. There are no practicing board certified vet specialists in the Antelope Valley, so it is a huge advantage to be able to have this done for my dog. His staff member, Sammy was incredibly thorough in taking a history over the phone. I don't think I've ever had such a thorough and professional history done on my pets. I've had hit or miss experiences at other clinics in the AV, although Palmdale Vet Hospital is also very good. I am worried about what happens when these small vet clinic owners retire and we are left with mainly corporate veterinary medicine. For the person, Salvi, accusing this clinic of racism, I have several friends and acquaintances of color who bring their pets here with no complaints. read more

Not being able to renew my dog's medication without an annual check up I was obligated to take my dog in for blood work. They take my dog in and while I'm waiting the Vet calls me to ask what medication he's on (My boys got Cushing's disease) so I tell him and then asks for dosage I say I'm not sure but it's the same it's always been; he's been on these meds a year now. This idiot then says "I can't do anything without knowing the dosage" I then ask how are you his vet and don't know his dosage is there no paperwork? Do you not keep documentation of your customers pets treatment? Again he's here for blood work so I can get medication approval and possibly a dosage change. He goes on to say that he asks for dosage because pet owners like to give their pets more doses of meds so he needs to make sure of the dosage. Why would I give my pet more doses of a very expensive medication for a disease he can live with - without any meds at all!? So I tell this dimwit vet I'm not giving him more doses I'm giving him the dosas I'm supposed to give him in the frequency according to his prescription. Then he asks how have I been getting the meds in the first place and proceeds to accuse me of illegally obtaining pet medication. I couldn't believe what I was hearing; all of this from just wanting to get meds for my boy so he can live the rest of his life comfy, I guess because I'm Brown I have to be involved in some kind of pet meds smuggling cartel ring conspiracy. Wait it's not over... So after him not knowing the dosage, not being able to proceed, accuses me of pet med smuggling, and pet med overdosing; He tells me "if you want me to evaluate your dog it's going to be my way not your way" Uhh guy doesn't even have a file on my dog and he's been going for a year!!! His way?? I told him give me my dog back now. He said "you're out of control pay your bill and go somewhere else" Yeah, you're telling me. I was charged $55 for a physical I didn't request and that I absolutely did not pay for and got out of there. If you're coming here keep a copy of all paperwork because they won't, Most already do as I, but just know if this "vet" asks you for info on your pet it's because he has no clue and really needs to know. Side note: If you're Brown or Black be just a tad bit vigilant about your pets health and billing something tells me he's never accused any white customers of pet med smuggling. Can't say much about the staff but the lady who set up my appt you know who you are YOU are the sweetest, nicest, most polite and one of the most professional person I've met the one star we have to put is to her. read more

I took Kitty in to have a facial abscess lanced. She had been in before for her vaccinations. The abscess was flushed out, was treated with an antibiotic, a drain was put in, and a laser treatment was done for pain. No pain meds were needed and Kitty recovered fast with no apparent discomfort at all. The price was reasonable and the folks there are supportive like at a regular hospital. read more

Their hospitality is great I have no complaints there but their prices are a lot more than most. They want ed to charge me $116 plus an appointment fee for 5 shots where as other clinics were charging $10 per shot which came out to $50-$60 no fee. However, they were nice enough to look over some photos of my dogs ears and save me an office visit which was very nice of Doctor Greg. Update: My dog has been on antibiotics for 9 days and still has a bacterial infection in fact it's gotten worse. I called today to ask when I could bring her back in and they told me I would have to pay for another office visit fee and new set of medications because the doctor has to take time out of his day to see her...? Second update: Now 5 days later still haven't heard from anyone after they said I would be getting a call back. I'm shocked that this clinic has such positive reviews. My dog was prescribed the wrong medication and the doctors are guessing as to what the dog has instead of taking a culture and determining what it really is. Nothing but positive things to say about Doc G. The office itself is very clean and the staff has always been so pleasant to work with. We first found Doc G when my maltese hurt her back. You can tell he truly loves animals. Cindy, my maltese, was so scared when she first got there but the doctor took the time to get to know her. By the time he did the actual exam she was very trusting of him. The xrays didnt take that long to do and he explained everything to us. With steriods and pain killers she got better.
