Dolly and Jack passed away due to negligence from smiths veterinary
    Estefania C.

0 stars. I wasn't going to write a review after our first dog passed away after a visits to Smiths veterinary but after the second one did, I'm definitely writing one. The first one was a pit we paid $700 for her lumps on her ribs to be tested (not even removed or anything) they said they weren't cancerous or dangerous and she was healthy. Not even a month later she passed away in her sleep. Not only that but the receptionist lady took my moms card from the front desk and after this transaction she had two more unknown transactions. Second dog mini schnauzer we took him in for a check up and shots in August said everything was good. Took him to emergency vet a few days ago he had to be put down due to failing kidneys and possible cancer in his lungs. This could have been caught sooner. My question is what they heck are they doing here if they aren't helping or at-least properly diagnosing. I'm not saying save our dogs from dying but DO YOUR JOB AND DIAGNOSE-PROPERLY!!! Especially after paying so much $$$ RIDICULOUS. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with a fur baby RIP to our babies Dolly and Jack

Dr. Soto was new to us but 100/10! She was so kind to Maverick (and the humans) both tech and doctor gave him space , moved slowly, let him adjust as needed and really communicated with us and worked with us to make this as easy for Maverick as possible! To our credit we are also very involved and more than willing to help to keep Maverick and the staff safe but not all places will allow the time or space for people to do that and are more just rushing along or through things but NOT HERE not today ! Serious Dr. Ortega's change to Mavericks pre sedation has been a game changer but I also think the approach and the vets make a HUGE difference in 9 years we have never had such positive experiences and we have been all over with him this is truly the most comfortable, reassured and trusting I've felt with vet's and Maverick! He is a special boy with re leg deformity which makes him more vulnerable so also more reactive but they do so well with him I cannot thank them enough I have raved about Dr. Ortega but Dr. Soto is just as amazing - these doctors are angels to crazy fur mommas like me ! Thank you thank you thank you to all that helped us today and every day ( I do think their care is what has kept Eleanor with us as long as we have had her and bought us not only time but GOOD time!)

My dog, IVORY SNYDER never had the stool studied, I know because I still have the brand new vial package in my purse. Also, I had monies left on my account. That big woman all she does is deny everything you tell her. If you need to steal from customers, I surely won't be back. I won't let ANYBODY YELL AT ME.

One thing I really appreciate is how honest the veterinary team is. I never felt pressured into unnecessary procedures, medications, or expensive add-ons. They took the time to explain my options and focused on what was actually best for my pet, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Most importantly, they treated my baby with kindness and made sure they felt as comfortable and cared for as possible. I also like that they offer after-hours emergency services. While there is an additional cost, it's reassuring to know that help is available when something unexpected happens. A little tip for fellow pet parents: sign up for their text messages! They occasionally send out deals and discounts that can help offset some of the costs. No place is perfect, and I do wish the wait times were shorter, but the compassionate staff, transparent recommendations, and genuine care for their patients make the extra time worthwhile.

I recently moved to the Antelope Valley and was looking for a veterinarian closer to home. After…read morereading Yelp reviews, Palmdale Veterinary Hospital seemed like the best choice based on its high ratings and positive feedback. Over the past two months, I've been here approximately 6-7 times with our three dogs for exams, vaccines, and an unexpected surgery for my mom's dog, whom I also recommended to this hospital. The surgery itself went well, and the cost was actually very reasonable considering the procedure. Unfortunately, my experience with the customer service has been consistently disappointing. The wait times have been long at nearly every visit. I understand that emergencies happen, but what concerns me more is how clients are treated by the front office staff and office manager. They often come across as dismissive, lacking compassion, and sometimes even condescending. Instead of simply relaying information, they sometimes seem to offer medical explanations that should really come directly from the veterinarian. When I asked to speak with the veterinarian to clarify questions about my dog's care, I was repeatedly routed through several staff members before getting any answers. That process was frustrating and unnecessary. After my mom's dog's surgery, I expected a little more compassion and guidance. Instead, it felt like we were rushed out the door. We received only limited explanations about medications, dosing schedules, and post-operative care. The focus seemed to be on scheduling the next appointment rather than making sure we understood how to care for our pet at home. When we asked why another appointment was necessary, the only explanation given was, "The doctor said so." During one visit, while waiting for my pet, there were three employees at the front desk, yet no one acknowledged me for about 20 minutes. Even after finally checking in, I continued waiting without any updates. Because this has happened repeatedly over multiple visits--not just once--I don't believe these are isolated incidents. The veterinarians appear knowledgeable, and the pricing has been fair. However, the front office is often the first and last interaction clients have, and unfortunately, it leaves a negative impression. I genuinely hope management addresses the customer service experience because I would like to continue bringing my pets here. As it stands, though, I am considering taking my business elsewhere unless I see meaningful improvement.

It has now been three weeks since my original request, and I have still heard absolutely nothing. Withholding medical records that a client has paid for--especially when dealing with a critically ill pet--is unprofessional and deeply disappointing. We trusted AV Animal Hospital with Goldie's care, but their complete lack of follow-through and communication during a stressful time is completely unacceptable. I would think twice before bringing a sick pet here if you expect timely access to their medical history.
