Came in to drop off on Thursday a set of specialty jackets to get washed and have the before and after of the jackets. The FAT employee who apparently is the manager gives attitude right off the bat and pretends to be running the building when she's an at-will employee. On the white jacket there was a small stain and it literally had the same stains when picked up. The shitty OWNER, BILL, calls me 1 day after pick up and stated that he will not give refunds back to customers over their shit service. Mind you owner to owner that's not how you run things. If a customer is dissatisfied at least try to make it right for them is better rather than refusing. It's crazy to think he's been in business for the past 30 years and when asked about missing garments he wants to play stupid. Mind you, those 30 years won't make it to 40 soon. read more

I rarely leave one-star reviews, but unfortunately, my experience with Save On Cleaners has been consistently disappointing. On one occasion, a black brand-name sweater I brought in was returned as a completely different navy blue one of much lower quality. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but on a second visit, one of my garments went missing, and I was told it was due to a miscount. Most recently, another item has gone missing, and I was asked to wait while they "look for it." To make matters worse, they offered a replacement that was not only of inferior quality but also six sizes too big. I understand mistakes can happen, but repeated errors like this--and the lack of accountability--make it hard for me to trust their service moving forward. Every time I go here, I forget how they fucked up my clothes last time. Now I brought in scrubs again; they could not get it right. I brought in new pants. I just asked for it to be pressed, and when I picked it up, they were still wrinkled and had stains on them. Additionally, my shirt had a small makeup stain, which was noted when I dropped it off. However, the shirt was the same. My clothes were the same as when I had dropped off, as if nothing had been done. To make matters worse, I asked to speak to the manager. She told me no refunds, so I told her I paid you for a service, which apparently you could not fulfill, so please give me my money back since nothing was done, and she told me no, that they would try again to fix, but it was at my own risk, just in case they could not put creases in my nursing pants. So what a waste, if you do decide to do business here, be specific when dropping your clothes off here, or else they do a shitty job. They end up ruining your clothes, and you lose money in the end. We've been loyal customers of Save On Cleaners for at least 15 years. On this occasion I was picking up 18 items. The blouse in the images had some sauce stains and I inspected my garment to make sure they had gotten it all off. Not only was it still stained, it had a burn hole on the shoulder and two holes on a sleeve. This was a $120 Anthropologie top and it was completely ruined. The heavy set younger employee was completely rude and giving me attitude as I explained that I would have noticed holes on a blouse before brining it in for a service. I had worn this top 2 times, there was no way I did this damage. The owner also came out and said the holes were old and frayed, where is the fraying? These holes look like they were from a hanger and the burn mark was definitely from an iron. I asked for a refund of the dry cleaning on this blouse and they said they don't do refunds but that they could reclean the shirt "for free". THE BLOUSE IS NO LONGER WEARABLE!!??? Make it make sense, I am extremely livid and have messaged my family members that they are not allowed to use this place again. Please do not trust your expensive garments with people that can't take accountability. read more

I picked them up today (Thursday) at 2:00 to be sure I gave them plenty of time. I got them home and they were NOT PRESSED! I cannot fathom the experience I just had at this wretched business. To my dismay, Star Cleaners closed down and as a result, my wedding gown was unfortunately sent over to Save On Cleaners for me to pick up. I called in advance to confirm my gown for pick up. The woman I spoke with stated the dress was ready. I arrived a week later and was faced with the worst customer service ever! Both the employee and owner, Bill, were terrible. They could not pull up my account in their system and were giving off an extremely bad attitude about it. There was so much internal staff confusion but the harassment was projected towards ME. Bill waved his finger, challenged everything I had to say and upon finding my dress somewhere in the back he stated "yOu kNoW tHe DrESs hAsN't bEeN pAiD FoR yEt!!" I wanted to point out that this past week I stopped by to pick up my clothes and there was a 5 dollar bill hanging from a hanger, in a ziplock that they found in one of my pockets. I was so impressed that it was returned when anyone could have pocketed it without my knowing. I entered to drop my clothes off and noticed no staff were wearing face coverings. I asked the woman behind the desk to put one on before I'd approach her and she rolled her eyes and put one on. The owner then came over without one and I told him I was disappointed in how they were operating- especially because this was a mandate. I've been using this place for a couple of years with no problems; I like the low prices. The other day I took a white shirt to get laundered; I needed it for an important event. When I picked the shirt up, it appeared to have been pressed without having been cleaned. The cuffs were stained, there was ring around the collar, and other stains. I had even pointed out the cuff stains when I had dropped the shirt off. I thought that these must have been really hard to clean, but I really needed to wear the shirt. I threw it in my washer with some bleach and it came out clean. It doesn't make sense to me why the professionals couldn't clean my shirt. UNACCEPTABLE! read more

When they say "at your own risk" they mean it! First of all, at the time I dropped off my down comforter I was a very new mom and had a 2 month old. I'm lugging my car seat and baby along with the huge comforter. No one offered to help! In fact I waited a while holding everything! Not a good way to start considering my cat just peed on my comforter! Next, I ask for my comforter to be dry cleaned. The girl helping me says they only launder them. I tell her the blanket says dry clean only and she in a very ride tone says "like I said we only launder them". I start to ask again what my options are when the manager? Owner? Comes over and again very very rudely tells me that they launder them all the time and never have problems. I told him it was expensive and he again assures me they do it every day with no issue- but at my own risk. I think I must have gave him a look because he then app ogives for being brash with me. Which I appreciate because most people won't admit when they are doing that. Flash forward- I pick it up, pay, go home. I don't use the comforter right away. A couple months go by and I pull it out for our guest room. Feathers fly everywhere!!!!!!!! There is not 1 but 2 holes/rips in the down comforter!! "Closed" with safety pins. So not only did they ruin the blanket, they knew they did and failed to say anything. FAIL!!! I understand I had it cleaned at my own risk but they definitely made it sound like I had nothing to worry about and didn't admit when it ripped! $35 down the drain for cleaning PLUS the $100 the comforter cost me! read more

I've been coming here for the better part of the last decade. I never had am issue with them in the past up until very recently. I picked up my dry cleaning a few days ago and brought them home to be hung up in the closet. When I went to open the plastic bag the next morning that the clothes are covered in, I noticed a very disturbing smokers smell on all my nice shirts and pants/sweaters!! I am not a smoker and nobody in my household smokes either. When I called them up to explain to them about the smell, the gentlemen on the other end told me to bring it in so they can check it out. When I arrived, he explained to me that the smell was from a chemical that they use on all the cloths. I asked if they could return my money for the cancer chemical smoking smell that they infused on all my nice wardrobe. He said they could run them through again and see if that clears up the smell, even after explaining to me that it was from a chemical that they lace on the cloths. I don't know why I agreed thinking that it was going to clean up the smell, it only made it worse when I went to pick it up the next day I definitely will not be returning and advise everyone to do the same unless they want to go around smelling like an ashtray!!!! read more

I agree this place is cheap and convenient (right by where I work) and turn around is fast. You get an extra discount if you pay with cash in advance. Customer service is mediocre at best (that I have experienced). They lost/broke a button on my blazer but of course didn't notify me or apologize. I found out when I put it on. Of course no one would admit to it. I'm conflicted around the whole cleaners issue. It frustrates me that women have to pay more because of the "shirt cuts". I've researched this issue and it has actually gone to court in the US (not this cleaners/in this county....yet). Apparently they make machines that press both for similar pricing (versus purchasing a machine that only does men's and purchasing a second) yet they charge more for women anyway because it's always been that way. I'd pay more for a cleaner that charged the same price for men and women. (Any one know of one in Salinas?) Now disregarding that price injustice, this place is 2 stars mostly for convenience. My first time here to clean some pillow covers. They had coffee and food stains which I assumed would be cleaned. I was told that if I wanted spot cleaning I needed to do it myself! Took some shirts in to be cleaned and pressed , The usual place i used was closed (Covid 19) prepaid and was told to pick up in 2 days,found out there was a add on local TV that stated shirts pressed $1.75 i paid 2.25. went to pick up and asked about the TV add , was told that that add was supposed to be taken off , well it wasn't !! was told OH WELL!! then was told that it didn't apply to Credit card payments !!! This place is always busy. I appreciate the multiple people at the registers assisting customers. I've been going here for about a year and have no complaints regarding the actual dry cleaning of my clothing. They are organized, efficient and prompt. However, with the exception of the young man, I believe that the young ladies can be a bit more friendly and a bit more welcoming. Today I went to drop off two comforters for cleaning and they refused because of visible pet hair; I have a large, long haired cat and his cat hair is on everything! They will not take items if they see cat or pet hair because of other customers who are allergic have complained. They told me to wash the items myself over at the laundromat across the street! Brought two items in for dry cleaning one of which was a shirt I needed the next morning. After dropping it off they said it be ready tomorrow around 4. I had forgotten what day it was and realized I needed the shirt by the next morning and not the next afternoon. (My fault) After letting them know that I specifically needed the shirt for the following mornings event they were kind enough to go back through their inventory pull out mine specifically and had it ready that night for me! I have used this cleaners many times. I have taken the Princess Elena dress to this cleaners and they cleaned it no worries. I stopped yesterday to drop it off and all of a sudden they can't take it.
