I have been enjoying this ghost kitchen out of Uncle Julio's. My favorite is the TexMex bowl. I honestly think this option would be good in any form: burrito, quesadilla... Ok maybe not the best fit for the salad, or maybe I'd be pleasantly surprised. Other menu items I've tried are the OG bowl (meh), hot chicken bowl and quesadilla (one of the 4 pieces of the quesadilla had no meat and really not much of anything), and the new carnitas bowl (the carnitas is pretty good!). I think the thing that makes the TexMex my favorite is the queso. I miss that component in all the other bowls. I appreciate the ability to offer through Grubhub as my company sometimes gives us credit. Picking up is usually pretty easy, although my last order was over 15 minutes late. read more

This was a Uber eats order so I cannot speak of atmosphere. Food was a definite no. Looked good and stared off ok until I realized that all of the fried chicken in my burrito was all fried and no chicken. I literally had a hot breading burrito. We ordered individually, however our salsa and chip orders were combined. We work at desks and can't really share and why charge anyway and individually. I have seen Savage Burrito on DoorDash and Uber Ears for the last couple of months, but I have been hesitant to order because I had seen so few reviews. My go-to is to check Yelp first, but had not seen it here. I googled it today and it turns out it is a ghost kitchen run by Uncle Julio's. Who knew? If you're not familiar with the ghost kitchen concept, it's typically a busy restaurant that doesn't deliver but creates a small-menu concept to take advantage of the delivery services like Doordash, Uber eats, GrubHub, etc. I ordered the Tex-Mex Flex, which was really great and less than $8. Wrapped in a spicy Cholula tortilla, Yum. The pictures didn't give a good idea of how big it was, so I wasn't sure whether to get one or two. Their Facebook pictures showed a better idea of the size (in people's hands for perspective). One was more than enough for me. I would suggest customizing it, as I wish I had gone with adding more meat and less rice, just for my style. But again, it was only $7.50. Warning: it was quite spicy, but I like spicy. You can customize the burrito ingredients, and the menu is creative. There was a Nashville hot chicken one that I might try it next time. The menu reminded me of Velvet Taco with their creativity. Delicious homemade salsa and chips, $2 (a lot of places charge $6 to go), and I added crema for $1. All in all, a pretty great, restaurant-quality dinner for about $10! They have fun, freezer-pop-style homemade margaritas. Unfortunately, they were out of them tonight. AMAZING FOOD-awesome margaritas-and this is from Texas and a tough critic when it comes to chips/salsa/margs...FRESH! SATISFYING!! But the cherry on top of it all is THE PEOPLE serving and greeting. If I had been drunk, this burrito would have been absolutely perfect. Instead, it was a pretty great Friday night treat, though not necessarily a "high quality" burrito. The burritos were hefty and extremely filling. I couldn't say for sure if all the fillings I ordered were in there, because this is the kind of burrito where everything is sort of mushed up together inside the tortilla, but it was still delicious. The pickled jalapenos and chipotle crema gave the burrito a kick, and the roasted peppers tasted great. Fried chicken was not what I hoped--barely noticed the chicken in there at all, let alone the crispiness you want from fried chicken. I ordered a build your own burrito with carne asada, jap tortilla, white rice, pinto beans jap coleslaw and ranch, cilantro, pico, sour cream, fresh japs, roasted pep&on, cotija cheese. I saw this on a delivery and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Tex Mex burrito, chips and queso, and churro bites. This food has an "after a late night of drinking" vibe. The burrito was on the greasy side. I customize the burrito to have light mexican rice and extra pico de gallo, but it didn't really look or taste that they had been changed. Also, the store forgot to include the chips for the queso in the sealed delivery bag. The churro bites were tasty. They smelled and reminded me of fair food, but the chocolate sauce did taste like it was just hershey's syrup put in a small travel container. Overall, it's okay. Cheap and decent, but I probably won't order again unless I'm drunk and desperate. read more

Order was horrible! Ordered a chicken salad and there was NO CHICKEN. On top of that there was an unidentified piece of "food" which honestly looks like an uncooked piece of chicken *gag*. I read previous reviews prior to ordering and they raved about the portion size. Uh, I think they forgot the greens in my salad along with the corn and the black beans. I can say a sprinkle of green was in my salad. Furthermore, the cilantro rice I ordered was not white as pictured nor did it have any hint of cilantro in it. Sure didn't taste like cilantro either. What it did have was two dried black beans, one kernel of corn, and bits of old dried out rice. Best vs other main competitors, but I'll compare this to chipotle for simplicity. A chicken and a steak burrito. The steak was better - juicy soft and no chewy fat bits. The chicken was char grilled and I liked the little grilled smoky breast chunks vs chipotle's chopped thighs. Tasted like off a charcoal grill. Veggies - all fresh and tasty. Nice choice of avocado chunks or guac. Not quite as much of each as I might like by volume but that's personal preference. Cheese - SO many options! No charge for queso option and their queso is bomb. Burritos are reasonable sized - sometimes chipotle makes em bigger but that's usually by overstuffing with non-meat additions. Savage burritos are well balanced in ingredients. I would like this to become a chain and wipe Chipotle, Queso Fresco, California Tortilla, and Cafe Rio off the map. Way more ingredient options without upcharge. Better meat. Balanced burrito without 5x the sour cream you need, etc. Without overcharging on things like queso price is right! The only thing I would ask is that they add shrimp as a protein option, and maybe do an enchilada style cheesey saucey burrito option. Otherwise, straight up gangster!!!
