This has hands down been the best sub/and Sammy shop I have ever eaten at! I grew up in Racine, since I was a little 4yr old my dad has been taking me here, and I grew upI eating these subs. If you want something made right with fresh ingredients and I mean fresh not subway fake and something made amazing then I recommend sausage kitchen. They will forever be the best place to me. And do not fix what is not broken you guys are the best at what you do and the best at serving Racine. Couldn't have asked for a better local hole in the wall find. The staff was friendly and helped point us in the right direction when looking at their large menu. The sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich was exactly what I wanted and the hash browns were the perfect side. My captain had a big sub and said it was fantastic. Big portions of fresh fresh veggies on both salads and sandwiches. After the zoo, fam got hungry and this little 3-generations diner popped up as top-rated on GoogleMaps. Ordered a gyro, a big house salad, a regular fries (sweet potato fries were having supply chain issues). Everything was DELICIOUS and homemade (cucumber sour cream tzatziki, 1000 island dressing, ketchup (yes, handmade killer ketchup!)). The owner stopped at every table to see how things were. We have been fans of the sausage kitchen since we were kids! My dad would go in for subs on average once a week. My mom started ordering a 6foot sub for Mother's Day each year. This afternoon when we unboxed it and started cutting it we were so disappointed! Here is this giant loaf of bread with 1 piece of ham, one piece of salami, and one piece of cheese. What happened to the amount of meat you used to put on? We had to take meat from other pieces to put on our section and toss 1/2 the bread. I told my mom to complain but she is too nice! You get twice the meat on a subway sub...and that says a lot. We won't be letting her buy subs here anymore. read more

Hidden gem! We loved this place! My family and I visited Racine from Chicago and came to The Sausage Kitchen for breakfast during our trip. Delicious. In particular we enjoyed the hash browns - those were so good. We got a few of the "Pick 3" breakfasts- everything we got was good. Very friendly staff and it was busy when we were there on a Saturday morning. Seems like the locals love this place also. We'd love to come back! read more

This is where I go to get Wisconsin brick cheese. I was also able to get basturma and Armenian string cheese here, which was a little surprising to me. There is a bit of an Armenian community here so I guess it makes sense to have food options. I haven't had any of the food from the deli but there was a decent eating crowd. read more

What a great local spot; best sandwich I've had in Racine thus far. The staff is warm and welcoming, there is ample seating, and the sandwich was on point. I got the combo sandwich (sausage & beef), it was just right. It had great flavor and as just the right size; filling but I didn't have to use 20 napkins to enjoy it. They bring in cardinali's bread which is the finest of italian breads. In addition they have a variety of schullsburg cheeses (the brick rocks) along with a good boiled ham. So you can make your own sandwiches or get one of theirs. Win Win. read more

A great little sandwich shop, I've been eating here for my entire life. I get the Italian Deluxe, on account of IT'S GOT CAPICOLA & MORTADELLA & SALAMI, nowadamean?? I always order my sandwich on French bread, cuz I'm a moron, and I LOVE the way everything shoots out the back of the sandwich, when you bite, when you order it on French. ?!?!? Anyway, this place does hot sandwiches, too. Good steak fries, everyone raves about the breakfast sandwiches, and a solid little hot ham & cheese rounds out the menu. The meatball bomber is another fan fave. There's a mini grocery and a deli counter as well, so you can pick up cold cuts for home assembly, as well. I think they do catering, too, but I dunno for sure. Our family has been coming here for the deli, and for subs, for over 40 years now. I missed this more than just about any other restaurant in my home town when I lived in Germany for years. Even when I returned and moved to Brookfield, I'd still drive down here JUST to get a sub, then turn around and drive right back. They are that good. After visiting my Grandma, we would stop in and grab sandwiches for the drive home, and I would usually con my mom into buying me about 13 packs of gum from the attached shop.
