Stopped by Red Onion Café in Racine for lunch and had a really nice experience overall! We ordered at the counter and the line moved super quickly, which is always appreciated during the lunch rush. I went with the citrus balsamic salad with chicken, which also came with a roll, and my friend ordered the turkey & bacon club sandwich combo that included butternut squash soup and a drink. Our food came out in about 10 minutes, which was great timing. The salad was wonderful...fresh, flavorful, and really satisfying for lunch. There were just a couple small things that could have been better. The roll that came with my salad was pretty dry and cold, so that part didn't quite match how good the salad was. My friend also got a pickle with the sandwich (see photo)... and let's just say it was limp as hell and could definitely use an upgrade. Overall though, it was a good experience with quick service and tasty food. With just a couple small tweaks, it would be even better. I'd definitely stop back again! read more

This is a hiden gem. They have the best omelets. I always get the Greek one. My husband always gets the door county cherry stuffed French toast. Their egg sandwich with Canadian bacon is also a tasty dish. It is a large roomy space with great views from every section. The staff works really hard and is so very friendly and happy to help with anything. The lunch is just as good. Also a great spot for large groups. read more

The curry chicken noodle soup was a weekly special, but if I could have bought it by the gallon I would have. I was so in love I tried to remake it, handmade noodles and all, as soon as I got home from work travel. Most impressive though, my whole meal, soup, chips, sandwich, drink, was only $10!!! Spending the weekend in Racine at a Vrbo to be Covid-safe and doing carryout supporting local businesses. My husband found Red Onion and I'm so glad he did. They made my breakfast exactly to my request..Greek omelette using egg whites, no garlic and light on the feta with a slice of rye on the side. My omelette was so satisfying, but that rye bread was the best I ever had! My husband had the Rueben omelette which was huge served with a yummy sauerkraut topping. The corned beef was not the canned chip kind, but huge cubes of the real deal. Then my husband came back with a cinnamon roll. I guess they make yummy baked goods, too. Well this cinnamon roll was everything! We warmed it up to ooey gooey sweet perfection. Great breakfast spot! Recommend highly! read more

We popped in for brunch on a friend's recommendation ordered a couple of coffees which are amazing ..! Great seafood chowder and smoked turkey cranberry salad. When passing through Racine I weighed the options for a late lunch. 'Panera or Red Onion?' I asked. Not only was Red Onion right around the corner but I saw Curry Chicken on the menu and knew that would hit the spot. Very happy I stumbled in here. First time into the Cafe but will be back! Friendly staff and knowledgeable about their menu, which for someone like me with allergies, that is a MUST! Very spacious and roomy, so you didn't feel like you were sitting on top of the people next to you. Although the had an outdoor eating area, it was raining, so just enjoyed the big windows. Food was delicious and fresh! Too many options of goodness! Which is why I have to go back, to try other items. Prices are so reasonable, as I don't remember anything above $9. The First time I ever entered the the Red Onion Cafe was about four years ago when I bought my Mother and Sister there with my Friend for their lunch special and they were very Pleased with the food quality and the atmosphere of the restaurant all the wrap around windows throughout the restaurant is amazing as well as their fresh food made Daily! Every Day they have a special lunch menu with homemade soups and salads all made to Order, Including the Best Daily lunch Specials even a special Cheeseburgers and Hamburgers with their speciality house Kettle Chips with fresh vegetables for a Garnish, I make them a weekly visit when I am not in a hurry and want to eat and enjoy my meal. Good and Quick. Stopped in for breakfast based on other yelp reviews during a recent trip to Racine. We were a little mystified that their "served all day!" quiche was not, in fact, ready to be served at 8 am, but I settle for the french toast. It was, hands down, the best french toast I've ever thrown a lip over. The place is light and airy. they're located in the ground floor of a large financial services building, and appear to get a lot of customers from that firm. Food 3 stars, ambience and service 5, hence 4 stars. I came in and got the breakfast sandwhich ofr $3.95. Returned and got the greek omelet with hashbrowns for $9.95 (?). The sandwhich was really oily, and when I was biting into it I would watch it drip out the other side. The omelet was really salty, probably from teh feta, but it was too much, I couldn't take more than a couple bites. Coffee is good, and the ambi4ence was eclectic funky. Good time. There is free wi-fi, but you have to go to the Johnson Bank Security table to get connected. read more

My BF and I came here by accident when the nearby cafe was closed. It was pretty much fate that we walked by here and saw good reviews on Yelp, so we were like, why not? Good thing we did too cause I would love to come back here some day. I ordered the French Tuna Sandwich combo with a Pineapple Pecan Cole Slaw salad on the side. Yummmyy!! The French tuna sandwich had french toast bread and a good cheese-tuna salad ratio in between the two slices. Two of my favorite food put into one! yay! The Pineapple Pecan Cole Slaw was really interesting considering I've never had this before. I love cole slaw, but with the addition of Pineapple and Pecans it became something else! (In a GOOD way!) I loved the sweet and tangy pineapple that adds a brighter flavor to the cole slaw and the pecans which kinds of dims down the acidic cole slaw kick that you usually get when you bite into it. T'was delish! The bf ordered a Carnivore omelette which had a variety of meats in there (bacon, sausage, corned beef, etc) and he stated that the omelette was pretty typical and yummy. Prices were decent, nothing out of the ordinary for a cafe. Atmosphere was very chill and casual. The staff were friendly and always helpful when I asked questions. You get a number when you order at the cash register and they bring the food to you. We got lucky since the World Cup was on their two TVs that they had so me and my bf enjoyed watching the Argentina vs Belgium game while eating delicious food. Bonus for me: Argentina won!
