Morelli's Deli is a total hidden gem right on the corner! We swung by around 3:30 on May 24 and grabbed a made-to-order sandwich with turkey, pepperoni, and all the veggies. It was so good--we legit inhaled it. Staff was super friendly, vibe was chill, and who knew a gas station deli could hit this hard? When I'm in the area I'd definitely swing by again.

We don't really visit downtown Kenosha, but we will be going there from now on! This is a quaint smaller store with a meat case along with some freezer cases, refrigerator case, and good quality dry goods. They even have local handmade products too! The store is simple, but well thought out with the good quality products they have. We purchased whole chickens, pork chops, and already made roast beef and gravy frozen meals. Loved all of it! We have found the place we have been looking for!

Why would our pork need to go all the way to China to be processed and sent back? Think! This place has a sweet farmer lady running it. No nonsense type that will tell you the truth. I've been going here to get my ham hocks and pork knuckles for the most outstanding crock pot smoked pork and beans known the side of the Pecos. They also have local honey. Do you know that local honey is so good for you? You do not want overcooked and of corporate variety in a plastic bottle from your supermarket. There are real health benefits to getting honey locally. (I know this because at one time I had an apiary of over 100 hives and was a purveyor of the finest clover honey in North America.) In the colder months, they have a split pea and bacon soup that will warm your innards and tickle your gizzards. If you want corporate and fake this place ain't for you.But if you want the real deal with straight talk, this is the meat market for you.

The place smells amazing right when you walk in! Cute popcorn shop with a ton of different flavors to pick from. Along with icecream flavors and miscellaneous candy treats. They will make it fresh for you as well- thank you Tom! He was very kind answering all of our questions and making a customer feel like a customer (not always something you receive these days). It was hard to only pick a few popcorns to bring home with me, but I ended up purchasing the s'mores and cheese and caramel blend, and impulse purchased the chocolate turtle at checkout. I appreciate how samples of the popcorn are out as well. Everything was fantastic and this will be a must stop for me when I'm in Kenosha!

CITY SLICKER I have…read moredriven by here many times but i have never stopped. Recently I needed zucchini. We were having company over and I wanted to add grilled zucchini to the menu. When I stopped in I was amazed at the large selection of items they had. They also had a bunch of great looking zucchini. The normal price for them was $1.29 a pound but they were on special for 75 cents a pound. I grabbed 3 nice size ones and the total price was $1.83. Now that was a deal. I should have grabbed more. I was also able to meet the owner Chris. She was very friendly and helpful. She actually stopped in to drop off more zucchini. She was also there to see how the store was doing. We also started talking about cooking food and using fresh veggies. As she was talking to me she was looking through the peppers. She picked up two giant green peppers that were going bad and asked me if I could do something with them. I told her Yeah and she gave them to me. In fact, I took them home and roasted them on the fire pit. I also served them to our guests later that day and they loved them. In fact, the guests used them on there brats. I know roasted peppers are not a traditional topping but I must admit they tasted fantastic on the brats. Thanks Chris for giving me these and adding to our already delicious menu. This store is seasonal. I am not sure when they close down but I'm sure when it starts to get cold. I also learned that Chris is the daughter of the famous Jerry Smith who has the farm North of this location. So all of there fresh seasonal veggies come from there. Jerry Smith's farm has a great pumpkin patch for the kids to visit in October. If you haven't been there then I recommend you load up the Family and make a trip there. They also have a Corn Festival coming up in August too. Those events take place at the Jerry Smith Farm and not here. I also have a Yelp Review posted for that location. Okay back to Green Acres. The selection was huge. They had a variety of potatoes and onions, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, 4 foot tall Dill, corn, hot peppers, green peppers, pickles, watermelon and zucchini. Everything looked amazing. In addition to the fresh vegetables this location also carried flats of flowers too. I really wanted the palm tree for $330.00 It looks so cool plus I would always feel like I'm on vacation if I owned it. So if you are driving down the road and you see a little shack at the side of the road it's Green Acres. It is the place to be. It's like farm living which is the life for me. Yeah I may get allergic from the smell of hay. I do love the country but I also love my big city too. There are some song lyrics mixed in there above...enjoy!!! See Green Acres makes me want to break out in song. I'm happy that people seem to be getting healthier. Places like this are helping us move in the right direction. We need to learn how to make food again and not out of a box but from scratch. It is not only rewarding to do this but it tastes amazing. So I appreciate Green Acres and I can not wait to stop back.

The place is a mad house ... parking lot is full and be prepared for a grocery cart rally. Went on a Saturday morning. New guy in town for the experience. Multiple deli counters and fantastic choices. Service was excellent. Tried many cold cuts and salads. Hot dishes were popular with other shoppers but that wasn't a priority for us. Great breads to choose from. This old world deli is jam packed full of goodies. So many, we are returning today for another pass. Couldn't make it out the door without trying some of their chocolates. The triple dipped malted milk balls will put you in a coma. Highly recommend without any reservations. We had already planned on visiting Franks Diner in Kenosha so we were excited to see that Tenuta's was just a few miles from Franks. After our excellent breakfast at Franks, we made our way to Tenuta's. We were both surprised and kind of excited when we arrived at an empty parking lot with plenty of spaces. It was when we attempted to go in that we noticed that they did not open for 15 minutes. Thus the empty parking lot. What happened over the next 15 minutes was something we have never experienced before. Cars began pulling in 2 and 3 at a time. People were walking up in groups to stand and wait for them to open. Keep in mind this was December and it was pretty cold outside. The closer we got to the time they opened, the more people that arrived. It kind of felt like black Friday shopping. People kept lining up and before you knew it, the parking lot was almost full. Wow. All for good reason as we got inside. Tenutas' is a one stop shop. They have pre-made foods, frozen foods, deli hot food, alcohol, of course some cheese, you name it. We picked up some Italian sausage, some frozen ravioli with their homemade sauce and a pack of their Italian beef. We really enjoyed the ravioli and the homemade sauce was delicious. Being a Chicago guy, the Italian beef was good, just not Chicago quality. The mild Italian sausage was very good and we look forward to enjoying the additional links that we have left. Very popular place that we would definitely visit again when we are back in the area.
