I had the Reuben sandwich which was good (it may be deli meat) I upgraded from chips to curly fries for $1 29. My friend had the Tuesday special which was 3 pieces of fried chicken, a big heap of yummy mashed taters with gravy ( I think it was a 39 cent upgrade for the taters or the (gravy) and a super dried out biscuit without butter. I left this same review several years ago regarding this restaurant's 'Taco' special. Took me this long to return and feeling optimistic- try them again. Unfortunately, the food was just as bad but in a different way. Last time the puffy tacos had grease literally running out the ends. This time they were cold & greasy, the meat was dried out, cold and crappy. The rice was salty, cold & tasted like something you'd eat if you were eating rice a roni or some other kind of instant cheap food. I saw the little "Open" sign from a distance, parked, came to the locked door to realize they were not open. The food is mediocre the bacon grilled cheese sandwich at the movie theater is so much better. The bread they used for mine was wrong & got the wrong fries. Which were too greasy and over done. Our soda had black flecks in it which they said was from the plastic nozzles. But they are supposedly "cleaned"every night. It was definitely not worth $40!!! For the price and quality you can't go wrong here. The breakfast wraps and sandwiches are small so I'd recommend pairing that with a side of pancakes or French toast. Since we moved to the area we frequently order for breakfast. There is a pick up window so you can order your food in advance and pick up without getting out of the car. Very convenient! I am pretty disappointed because I have really enjoyed pizza from this place in the past. I feel like the cooks are ignoring the special requests that are offered on the delivery websites. I requested a crust preference of "well done/crispy", which wasn't even close....the crust was doughy and far from being cooked as requested. (and this was thin crust!) I also paid an upcharge to have extra sauce, which was a complete miss, as there was barely any sauce at all on the pizza. When the pizza arrived, the ticket was attached to it, and it reflected my order the way it was requested. My point is that the order was entered and processed correctly, but the cooks in the kitchen aren't paying attention to the details. I really hope this improves. read more

The build your own skillet was just a smallish portion of overcooked potatoes thrown in a plate (not even a skillet) with eggs a little bit of bacon and sausage, unmelted shredded cheese and toast. I've been visiting the dish since they opened years ago but never got around to doing a review so I thought I would do one now since the dish is a great place to dine in Racine that I feel some people might not know about and if they don't they are definitely missing out because the dish offers a wide variety of delicious foods ranging from a rotating assortment of different soups, homemade dishes like pot roast, Friday fish frys, delicious breakfast options, a bakery display full of crazy good looking brownies, cookies, muffins, crumb cakes, and so much more that as soon as you see it you will stop dead in your tracks but what I really like is that they offer coconut shrimp which is not as easy to find in Racine as you might think also they have a decent alcoholic drink menu with a delicious pina colada and chocolate mudslide that me and my partner both enjoyed on their spacious patio with a covered area for when it's too so if you're reading this I highly recommend you visit The Dish where your sure to find something you'll love. read more

The food is quite good. The staff are professional, the tables and floors below them are dirty. IF YOU EXPECT A TIP,BUS THOSE TABLES FREQUENTLY!!! Otherwise I won't ever tip and I must leave a star behind. To manager: you have a great little place here and you are much better than the local chains. All you have to do is clean up a bit more. Also consider wrapping your silverware in a napkin after the water spits have been removed. Water spots can make you utensils look dirty. Every time I go there the forks run out...EVERY TIME.. Food was good. The pancakes were great they didn't even need syrup. The service kinda sucked and the drinks were over priced. Over $5 for a cup of orange juice they get out of a gallon. $5 for plain iced coffee. You had two kids in the front flirting with each other ignoring me as I wait at the register. The lady at the brunch area walks over to talk to an employee over the walkie. I make eye contact with her and it's clear that I want to ask her something. She finished what she had to say to the coworker and then walked away. Left me standing there looking stupid when I clearly waited till she was done so I can ask something. I had to loudly say excuse me. Took about 15 min after the food just to get those two drinks. Took another 7 minutes of me just trying to get a box. Lady at the brunch bar seemed rude from the beginning when I voiced that I got the wrong food, She gave me a dirty look and I decided to just take the food because maybe they're busy and don't have time to fix it but maybe their staff just need to be retrained. My guess is that I had this restaurant bookmarked in hopes of trying a new place I would like, and getting cash back. (Forgot to tap the claim button before, whoops!) I ordered an iced latte, which honestly tasted like it came from a gas station machine...disappointing, for almost $4 I would have preferred stopping at Starbucks for my caffeine fix. For my lunch, I ordered the Mardi Gras Chicken, which was another disappointment, as it was missing any fresh ingredients, such as a simple tomato and lettuce...and was much too spicy and salty for my taste. The cheese had an odd after taste--imagine Lawry's Seasoned Salt, mixed with cheese whiz. I opted for the curly fries for an additional .50 extra, and these tasted just like Arby's. My advice is to save yourself the money, and go through a drive-thru instead if you are craving a chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, the Popeyes in the area was out of chicken sandwiches, otherwise I would have saved myself this misfortune. read more

My friend had a mushroom and spinach specialty pizza, while I ordered the pesto chicken panini. The pizza tasted great, and the panini was pretty good too. Although, it could've used more pesto. The layout of the dining area looks very warm and nicely laid out. The Dish has beautiful outdoor seating as well on their patio. The establishment is very reminiscent of Panera, but nicer and with a more extensive menu. Being our first visit, my friend and I had to sit down and look over their long list of menu options before actually placing our order. I hope to try some other items on their menu that caught my eye, but didn't have a large enough stomach to try it all on the first visit. After (not) viewing the solar eclipse, we decided to check out The Dish for lunch. There was not a lunch-rush at 2pm on a Monday. This place opened recently. I'm sure it'll pick-up soon. Even when it does, there will be plenty of indoor, semi-outdoor, and patio seating. The menu is vast with multiples choices, add-ons, and customizable options for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and bakery items. We tried the 9inch thin crust spinach and mushroom specialty pizza and a pesto chicken panini. It took about 10-13 mins for the order Bc of the pizza. The pizza was good. I wish it had come out hotter and with a crispier crust, but it tasted fresh and the 8 slices were plenty. The pesto chicken panini was a bit bland for us. It comes w your choice of bagged chips from the wall. The place is a cross between a Panera and an IKEA cafeteria, hah. It's a comfortable eatery w a varied menu that caters to convenience. Glad to have this addition to the Racine area. read more

I've ordered to go items here twice and both times, something was forgotten with my order. First time it was a sandwich and I didn't get a side/wasn't offered one. I thought $8 was pricey for just a sandwich when I can go to Panera and get a sandwich and side, and I know they will get my order right. That would have been okay if the rest of the food was amazing, but I thought the huge portion of hash browns was completely flavorless. The Dish has a large menu. The thin crust pizza is very good. The mac and cheese is ok (tastes like creamette mac noodles) its very watery cheese with hardly any flavor. I added red pepper flakes and pizza cheese. Its definitely a diet mac n cheese of sorts or maybe gluten free. Not sure, but not that great. The chicken wings are very flavorful, but have a lot of fatty skin. I had the garlic and parmesan, excellent sauce. My friend had the dry rub wings which are also excellent. The sandwiches are very big. Please put more sauce on thou, as the bread is very thick. But good. Just too much bread. The chocolate free donut bites were not good. They were dry and overly frosted. Everyone is very friendly and courteous. There is lots on the menu to choose from, So far the pizza is my favorite! Plenty of free parking in the lot, with handicap spaces, free wifi, outdoor seating with music, bright and very clean inside. The tvs only play what they have on the menu, which is odd. They have all sorts of beverages from tea, coffee, soda, lemonade, beer etc... Things I wish they had: Trays to carry your food on to your table because the dishes are very very hot. The pizza tray was also very hot. Please place the pizza on another tray. The napkins are always low stocked and the tables are always dirty. Always have to ask them to clean a table or do it myself. At the end of the night if your eating there after 9pm the staff just stands around at the front counters and goofs off. Very unwelcoming! The food on the other hand is very good. I enjoy the food at The Dish. The fish fry is good. The service is not great. If you order carry out be sure to add at least 15, if not 20 minutes, to how long it will take. It is borderline ridiculous how much longer it takes. The service also needs some work as they don't quite seem to have things together at busy times. I really wanted to give it more stars, but after 4 visits, I just can't. Not sure if I will continue to buy food from here. read more

People who complain about the fish fry amaze me. I have never had a bad one. Actually, they are the best in town! Our family loves the pizza and sandwiches. While they have recently opened and clearly have some kinks to work out, I am giving this rating on the items I've tried and the service we've had. The peanut butter cookie, it's a 10. However they don't always have it. The blueberry muffins, solid 10. However they rarely have them. No, it isn't because they sell out early, they just don't have them. Suspect the same with the PB cookie. The cinnamon rolls? Terrible terrible. And they fooled me twice. The first time it seemed dried out and hard. The frosting was a big blob that was placed on the top of the roll and while it had the hint of cream cheese, it was a strange consistency. The second time The rolls had frosting that had clearly melted over the role and looked fresh. The gal said they were just out of the oven and I mentioned my prior experience and how hard the roll was she said they were made to be reheated. Against my better judgment I ordered one. It was no different than the first time. The cinnamon rolls lack flavor and a fresh texture. On a another visit to get a muffin (only to find out they didn't have any) I saw the industrial tub of "cream cheese" frosting and then it made sense. So here is my last beef with them. After 3 trips to get blueberry muffins my husband called and asked if they had them (why deal with the construction traffic) and had the gal ask the manager when would they have them again. He was told Tuesday. Today is Tuesday. They DO NOT HAVE THEM. Instead they have a case filled with donuts and cookies. All for a special they have for by an entree and get one of those free. So really, they overloaded the case with generic normal sized cookies and donuts instead of keeping them boxes and having their regular offerings. Note though they don't have their normal much larger cookies for this giveaway. Not wasting my time here again. read more

Better than fast food. Hubs had fish tacos. Looked like a fish stick on a tortilla. Skimpy. Should have at least two per taco. My four year old would have been hungry. I had the meatball bomber.
