Great quick food option in the area! We needed an easy Monday night dinner and after receiving an email about their $5 burger Monday special, we decided to come in for dinner. The restaurant was very clean, well lit, and quiet. We happened to be served by the manager, Melesio, and he was friendly and helpful! The food was great! My husband had the Italian Beef/ Sausage combo which had a ton of flavor. I opted for the regular size roast beef with Mozzarella cheese (dry with the jus on the side - otherwise it's too sloppy for me) and had to try the Monday night burger special for $5, which was great also! Before we left, we had to order a Cookies n Creme shake to go also. (Sometimes they have a promo for those too, you gotta check the app) All was delicious, efficient, and comfortable. Italian beef sandwich's are the best. The food is usually good at Buona, but unfortunately my order is usually wrong.

I'm getting around to posting my review after several visits. This was my first visit to any Buona location as I'm not even a fan of Portillos and have eaten there several times. I'm not really an Italian beef person. I have to admit, though I did complain why Buona, this is a great addition to the area. Here's what I've had thus far. Burger with cheese - With everything. Cheese was an upcharge. This burger was huge as I couldn't fit the first bite, lol. Flavorful it was and cooked to perfection. The whole sandwich was not as flat as other establishments. Could have used other condiments on it besides ketchup. It was still hot when I got home. Fries - These were delish, hot, crispy, and seasoned crinkle fries. I eat these with SBR BBQ sauce. Yum yum. Chicken Parmesan - Had to try it and was not disappointed. I wouldn't order this one to go unless you separate the bread. But this was the bomb, lots of meat, sauce, and cheese. I did love the bread. It wasn't so think and heavy. The chicken was crispy enough for my liking. Recommend asking for it to be cut in half, it can be a bit messy. Overall... delicious!!! Salads - I'm not going to lie. I completely enjoyed the Chopped Chicken and the Crispy Chicken salads. These are very fresh tasting salads. If you can eat one of these bowls in one sitting, you're glutton for punishment and will be in a coma. These salads are huge and took me 2 days to eat. Very, flavorful salads. Grilled Chicken Sandwich - This too was a large sandwich. Flavorful, yes, but it was a little crispy around the entire edges of the chicken, but definitely tender everywhere else. If this is flamed broiled, it tastes as if it is. I'm not a fan of that taste with chicken. Rigatoni Marinara with Chicken - This was really good with the chicken. Noodles were perfect. I assume the marinara is the same as the parmesan. I'd order it again. Most other places, their sauce is bland to me. Not Buona's I forget to take pictures of the salads. Next time. One thing to note, there's an ice cream shop inside as well. I haven't tried it yet, one day. It's cold today, lol. Overall, not bad. I know I will return. It's Chicago land , well kind of, and it's Italian beef so, how can you go wrong? Looking for a place for lunch and this place just jumped out. It's simple, but it's Italian beef again. The food came fast and hot and we both ordered the standard Italian beef dipped. It was really juicy so I couldn't imagine how wet the baptized version was. Food is great and love the menu choices. They ate understaffed like an hr before closing. Twice I was standing at the register and waited for someone to take my order, there were no one there for five minutes, I went to the other side and asked for someone, a few more minutes later someone came to take my order. He was on his headphone taking drive through order and before that was carrying a bucket of soapy water throwing it on the ground to clean the kitchen at closing. Thrilled when Buona Beef opened a restaurant in SE Wisconsin! Absolutely love their beef and cheese fries. They have yummy salads and pasta too. I was disappointed to discover this location does not have pizzas on the menu like their locations in IL. Still definitely worth stopping in or driving thru, you will not be disappointed. The food is made fresh to order and served piping hot! You can get your beef sandwiches dry, baptizes, or dipped. The crusty roll with soft pillowy inside is the perfect vessel to hold the generous portion of Italian beef with their unique spice blend. You can add mozzarella and hot or sweet peppers. Also the restaurant is very clean and our dine in experience was great! Service was ok - as you order at a self service kiosk or at counter then they give you a number and bring the food to your table. It was Monday night and they weren't busy but there didn't seem to be a sense of urgency as I watched our order sit under the hear lamps for several minutes before being delivered to our table which was a bit disappointing but not enough to stop us from dining in again. We were one of three tables in the place so it wasn't like they were super busy. You can also join their rewards program where you earn points for food deals and their daily specials. Where I grew up, a good Italian beef sammich was not hard to find, but up here it was a different story until the Buona out on Route 50 opened. First time ever at a Buona Italian Beef. I was greeted by Larrisha (Pleasant Prairie Kenosha location) and she was very kind and helpful. I also got some assistance from Manager Erin C. regarding the phone app and rewards. The menu is very easy to navigate and prices were very reasonable given the current economy/food costs. The biggest negative I have and the reason for the 4 Star is their seating...it is not good. They have too many tables too close to each other. There are only maybe 6 booths and some awkward stool&bar areas that does not look inviting...kinda makes you feel like a loner and isolated by sitting there. The decor and music has a bit to be desired and is strong on a corporate vibe instead of a welcome feeling. My food was VERY delicious and was fast. I ordered the simple combo #1 (Beef sandwich, fries and medium soda). The Beef was tender and not dry with plenty of flavor. Portion size was a bit light vs Portillo's but their bread makes a difference. I had the Giadiniera and it was on the hotter side vs some others I had at other places. The Krinkle fries were different because they had a distinct type of crisp and flavor that was very pleasing vs the standard krinkle cut. I got an order to go as well and this time got the potato salad. I am willing to bet that it is Aunt M's which is a good choice but on the pricey side for such a small serving. All in all...I will definitely return for the food quality and very kind staff. I really don't need to travel any further south or north for Portillo's and wait 15+ minutes to get my food. Absolutely Delicious. We had a time slot for their soft opening today and I was expecting a limited menu, but was pleasantly surprised they were offering their full menu. My wife and I ordered two beefs, a hot dog, fries and onion rings. The service was quick, especially impressive with how busy it was. So I was super excited to try Buona because I enjoy italian beefs so I have different expectations on what the sandwich should be. That said I requested my beef dipped and it was not. It was the driest sandwich Ive had in a long time super disapointing checked my recipt just to make sure and yup it was on there but there was not a spec of au jus on that bread... I will give them another try hopefully it was an off day if not ill countinue to get my fix at portillos in gurnee. read more

Had Buona beef for the 1st time today. This place is fantastic! The Italian beef is so tender and flavorful, the sausage was cooked perfectly and the bread they use is amazing! Outstanding sandwich! For a restaurant that just opened, they crushed it. The servers are very friendly and helpful, the cooks were all on point, even with a packed restaurant and line out the door. The Italian beef mozzarella cheese, sweet peppers, and a hot peppers was OK. The bread is not that good. No seasoning on the meat. They have at least 10 to 15 managers standing around watching the workers which is crazy to me. I would rather drive to Portillo's to get Italian beef.
