My bfs coworker has been telling him to try this spot for months & I was craving a smash burger so we decided to finally check this place out. You pull into a gas station & it's inside of the gas station/Taco Bell, mostly clean but was out of Dr. Pepper & medium cups. We ordered our food at the counter, I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger w side of cheese sauce & he ordered the double cheeseburger + Chicago dog combo. Everything was made fresh so it did take a bit, but not long. The fries were pretty good reminded me of less greasy McDonald's fries. They forgot my cheese sauce so he had to run back in to get it & it was not that good it was kinda chalky. Not worth $1 extra. My boyfriend also did not like the Chicago dog, he said the toppings were the only good thing. Now onto the burgers, wow! Best burgers I've had in town by far, it was crispy, meaty, & cheesy. Surprisingly good for being located in a gas station. I'd say this would be a good place to stop off when traveling down highway 50. The prices are reasonable, food was made fairly quickly, and everything tasted like I was expecting. While this isn't as good as a real Chicago dog, it is a close second and is sufficient. read more

Went there with my brother and nephew to get lunch for the family. Their Chicago dog is really good. My brother had the hamburger, which he said was on par with a Five Brothers burger. Ordered the chili cheese dog, this was a disappointment, there was maybe two tablespoons of toppings between the chili and the cheese. The cheese solidified, which was not pleasant. To top it off we were missing three orders of fries, that should have been included, since everything we ordered were their meals. Next time we know to check the order before we step away from the counter to check the order. read more

What a great place right off the interstate. Went to get gas at the BP station, and while I was paying, I noticed Interstate Dogs shared the building. They have every kind of hotdog imaginable... Chicago, dogs, chili dogs, plain dogs. They also have hamburgers and fry combos. Prices are a bit steep, but that's to be expected in today's economy. Since it's sharing a space with the gas station, there's not a lot of dining area. It's best to just grab and go!Definitely a return trip. read more

This is 100% inside a gas station. It is not a stand alone eatery, and does not have a separate entrance from the gas station. It shares the fountain drink counter and garbage island with the BP. There's a little cut out in the back wall you shout through to get the young person's attention to help you. The public use gas station microwave is at your knees in the counter where you stand to order. There were flies in the awkward dining area and an overwhelming odor of cooking grease. The food itself is okay, but the portions are extremely small for the price. We ordered two orders of cheese curds (which they forgot and we had to go back in)and two polish dogs. The total was over $30.00. One polish was not wrapped, but laying in the bottom of the bag, naked. The condiments were smeared all over everything else. We opened the cheese curds and it looked like half of them were gone. The cheese curds were more bread than cheese and the polishes were dry and shriveled. I went up to the cook and she said the manager just got up and walked out, didn't tell anyone, got in the car and drove away without telling the cook about any of the orders. She ordered a jumbo bacon cheddar cheese dogs, a side of cheese fries & mozzarella sticks. Well, to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The Italian beef was so dry, no cheese what's so ever. My spouse did not receive cheese for her cheese fries. The bacon cheddar cheese dog looked like someone deep fried a hot dog with bacon, it was not edible to eat. The mozzarella sticks were cold & crunchy. This is probably one of the worst hot dog places I've ever eaten. I understand pictures versus the food you get is not always the same but this was nowhere near our expectations. The food was good, (growing up in Chicago I know Chicago food) I found the beef a little peppery, but it was alright. Probably would have given it another star, but the service was awful. The lady that took my order seemed like I was bothering her and I waited too long for something that should have been very quick to prepare. Decent food, slow service. This place is located in back of a BP gas station. The specialty dogs were surprisingly good with freshly prepared toppings but the Chicago dog and cheese curds were mediocre. The service could use improvement. They only had one person working at 6pm. She was working hard to keep up with orders. It took about fifteen minutes to receive our orders, much longer than I expected for a couple hot dogs. The Italian Beef is delicious! On par with what you find in Chicago. Their fries are perfect. I've occasionally ordered their chili cheese fries which are a meal themselves. Ordered 2 dogs and a gyro meal and I have to tell your alpo would havebeen better. Dogs were so cold it seemed that they were just taken out of the frig and put on cold buns; while the gyro was last weeks meat and luke warm but the real prize go to the fries; soggy and cold. They need to learn how to use their equiptment (auto fry).
