Got to the hotel late on Sunday, but made it to Marguerite in time for a bite and a glass of vino. Looks really cute inside, but not really " homey "...more of a Scandinavian, clean/simple atmosphere. Since I was alone, I sat at the bar. The young woman barkeep was very nice and efficient - and even though it was approaching closing time she never made me feel rushed or " you need to get out of here ". THANK YOU and I apologize I didn't catch your name! You deserve a pay increase! I ordered the Marguerite pizza - really tasty! And while I normally prefer a cracker thin crust, this pizza was fluffy and light...not heavy at all. Delish! I would order it again. My only knock of the star is for the gentleman that was sitting two seats down from me...not only on his phone, but on speaker. Ridiculous and rude. This place is very very great for a special occasion or nice date night. Went here with my wife to celebrate our 1 month anniversary (small things to celebrate). She got the Limoncello drink & it was definitely sweet if you like it. For meals she got the Marg Salad with Salmon & I got the Fish In Crazy Water. The salad had a great portion size of salmon. The Whitefish was delicious & crispy. Service was nice & genuine. Food was running little bit slow but not that bad considering the 95 degree weather outside I couldn't imagine being in a kitchen. This restaurant needs to get some food quality consistency. I've been coming here for a few years and while their pizza is great, other things have slid. Caesar salad came with uncooked chicken last Sunday night. Waitress was great and made it right...brought me a new salad. But to get ANY chicken on this salad, you need to order an extra serving. $12 for what equates to ONE chicken breast?....I also think it used to have fancy croutons....now, just plain ones. Barely any dressing. I returned the following Tuesday for lunch with a friend. Their pork sandwhich was absolutely HORRIBLE. Hard bread, terrible sauce. For the money, I'd rather have a Jimmy John's. MY friend complained that she barely had any chicken on her salad, and she paid $6 for the meat addition. Also skimping on the cheese. Their French fries were amazing. It's just confusing. How can one thing be so good, and the other--with the same meal--be so BAD? I know the owners are out-of-towners. They seem to be a little out-of-touch. I stopped by for lunch with co-workers on a weekday. We didn't have reservations but got seated immediately. Our server was friendly! I asked about gluten friendly items Nd she was knowledgeable about them. GF fare is fairly average here, mostly salads and soups. I opted for an antipasto type salad and the red pepper soup. The food was decent! Nothing bad but not something I would probably rave about. It is on the pricey side (especially for Racine). I think when all was said and done my lunch was just over $30. We started out on the roof top bar, the service and small plates available were all good. After awhile on the roof we moved down to the main restaurant. It has a nice fresh warm feeling and is comfortable. After being seated we waited long enough for a server that one of our group eventually went up and asked if they knew we were there. After being served the food was 5 star, great portion size and generous appetizers. The drinks were quite tasty as well. By the time we were ready for desert we were so cold we were going to skip it, then they agreed it was to cold and moved us up to the bar for desert where the pizza ovens were . I think this will be a 5 star location once they get things ironed out and adress their service issues read more

Horrible service in downstairs restaurant. Your food was so,so. Very disappointed. The downstairs restaurant is to open and chilly in the winter, with the door opening. Maybe close off that door and have people enter through main entrance. The upstairs bar is a spectacular view but they need to start serving food up there. That outside bar is a gem but it could be so much more if they serviced meals. That upstairs bar will carry the downstairs restaurant. read more

Connected to hotel, very nice and modern spot. Having recently moved from NYC, this has been the closest and best spot to remind us of home. Definitely recommend to our fellow foodies if looking for a nicer ambiance, service and meal. We will be back. Focaccia garlic bread and the mariners sauce were in point. Had the braised pork which had an impressive presentation and flavorful. Also had the Lemon chix pasta which was fresh and full of flavor. Paired the braised pork leg with their cab which was full bodied and paired perfectly. Tried the old fashion cocktail but was disappointed it came out on regular cubed ice, think it would have better flavor and presentation with a singular large cube. Service was great. It's pretty dark in the back half of the restaurant. Food was meh. Salmon was very plain, veggies had no seasoning. Lemon chicken dish barely had any lemon flavor. Lasagna was just ok, very large portion though. Had stuffed artichoke for appetizer, had an odd flavor to it, almost lasted like cinnamon or nutmeg. Didn't fit with what you are expecting. The restaurant is very pretty, modern. Great location. Would suggest improving food dishes, could add more selection. Couple pasta items didn't have meat in them, could have add-on chicken or shrimp as an option goes those who like meat with their meal. read more

Great service, great food. We sat at the bar and the person waiting on us was wonderful. The focaccia appetizer is a must. The bread is light and a little crispy, garlicky flavored and the sauce to dip is out of this world. We split the New York strip and gnocchi for our main course and both were delicious. The steak is like nothing I've ever had. It was a extremely thick cut, done perfectly. Very tender, and had a unique flavor that we loved. Do not serve drunks and expect your other guests to accept your apology. The manager and wait staff seemed to be nice but were absolutely ineffective in dealing with the situation except to provide additional liquor to a table of drunks who had exceeded their capacity. One drunk staggered and fell on another restaurant guest. Just terrible!! read more

I give this restaurant a 9 for ambiance. The atmosphere and rooftop experience was very good and relaxing. Lots of cozy spaces. Ordered salmon and it was lack luster at a high price of $32. The size I received was about 3-3 1/2 oz with a spoon of succotash. Paid too much for too little. I have had better. It was under seasoned. The red pepper tomato soup was really good but a tad on the salty side but very flavorful. The service was good and waitress very helpful. The lemon bread pudding for dessert was very good. I will go back again for sure. But I will never order the salmon again. Definitely make reservations online or you can opt to sit at the bar. read more

I ate there with friends recently and although the food itself was good, it was certainly nothing to write home about, especially with such a limited dinner menu (Serving the pork (with a tall bone) in a deep bowl made slicing it very difficult). Sadly, the desserts were pretty terrible: dry and flavorless olive oil cake and lemoncello bread pudding that had very little lemon flavor and was not something anyone would guess to be a bread pudding. Neither of the desserts was plated in an appetizing way and looked as if they were simply dumped in a bowl and on a plate. Another irritation: servers who don't know who ordered what even in our small party of three. Hopefully, the newly-opened Marguerite will get take heed and make improvements to their food and service, but this first impression was not a good one. read more

The food was absolutely terrible. The steak was ordered medium, came rare. The salmon was okay, but the vegetables served with it were tasteless. The chicken and asparagus was absolutely disgusting. Chicken was super dry, wasn't a chicken breast was part of a breast with a small leg. Portions are small as well. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. I'm hoping my review will help Marguerite improve. We were so excited for this beautiful new addition to downtown Racine. Unfortunately the food we had at our table wasn't great. I ordered the Lasagna, and at 26$, it was a small portion. It was deflated in the bowl, the noodles were burned, and it wasn't very flavorful. Not worth it. Another table mate ordered the mushroom bucatini, again a small portion at a big price, and so-so flavor. Mushrooms were way too chewy. Not worth the price. The best entree dish at the table was the braised pork which was good. We ordered the Tuscan Bread Soup to start and it was watery and nary a white bean in it. This has always been a thick, hearty, rich soup every time I have had it before. Very disappointing. Not worth the price. We ordered two of the desserts to share:The limoncello bread pudding, and the Olive Oil Cake. Both servings were very small and tasted just OK. Again, expecting big limoncello flavor and that rich flavor of good Olive Oil cake. Not worth the price. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful and comfortable. The decor is just beautiful. Service was ok. This town has a long history of fantastic family run Italian restaurants (flashback-Dino's, and legendary Totero's) with generous portions and rich flavorful scratch made food. Maybe take some cues from this past history. Or, maybe take a trip up to Madison and try Pig In A Fur Coat which does magnificent Italian food at this same price level. read more
