Food was good. Hot fresh. Service was overall good. Little lack of communication but I think it was a fluke. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Usually doesn't take this long to get a 2 top tables food. Seemed like a fluke issue between front and back of house. Overall good and would go again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is small inside but has a nice patio to sit outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is to die for and many drink options. Our waitress was on point and our drinks never ran dry.

I'm really oscillating between 4 and 5 stars. Mind you, this place is a good hour away from home, so I only come when I've got other things to do in Racine. So It's been a while, but I come back! Service here's a back and forth. The server was very nice and friendly. Got every order right. But slow. She wasn't slow herself, but I think she was the only server there (lunch on Friday, a little before 12, not terribly busy) and it just took forever to get our menus. I had to get up twice to find her, just as she was coming out to us. So I want to say 5, but keep remembering the wait to say 4. Atmosphere We sat outside and the weather was gorgeous, the huge planters with the flowers were nice, and our toddler had fun walking around the rocks. Solid 5. Food BB burger ($18 +$4 for keto) The burger itself was OK. I wasn't wowed by the patties. House made pickles were cutup into small triangles and felt like they were washed out? Maybe because I ordered keto? The best part about this burger was the keto bread! They have their own bakery that bakes the breads every day. Love it! The kale chips were ok, nothing special. I would have rather subbed the fries for a small salad instead. So overall, the burger was good, not great. Especially not for $22. I wish they just sold the keto bread. That was seriously good. Chopped salad Good. 8-minute eggs were perfect for me... But if you prefer them cooked more, make sure you ask. Pancake I can't say whether they were good, but our toddler loved the syrup smothered cake. Oh, and I wish the server had told me about the $4 extra for keto option, or that it was written somewhere in the menu. I would still have gotten it, but maybe gotten a different burger. I love the farm-to-table concept, fresh, local sourcing, and keto/glutenfree options. So many things I love despite the bumps, so this place still is a 5 star for me!

If I could give it no stars I would. Food was awful. Potato pancake for both orders of the blue bear Benedict were so burnt it was nearly inedible. The spicy carrot soup was disgusting. The waitress was so rude when I had to ask where my drink was 12 times. I didn't get the one and only drink I ordered until after we all finished our meals. I will never step foot in here again. The daughter of the owner was there and apologized profusely and I feel bad but this place needs serious help

Carrot cake pancakes with vegan cream cheese. Side salad, side of fruit, chicken sausage. All excellent!!

We first discovered blue bear in Door County on vacation and loved it so much that we drove to Racine from Chicago just for the carrot cake pancakes with vegan cream cheese. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Easy to find, parking lot, cute ambience, excellent service, and food is worth a trip.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We stopped here for brunch on our way to Milwaukee for Thanksgiving. The outside of the building has a giant blue bear painted on side and is hard to miss. The food itself was pretty good, they have a ton of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. I was happy with just about everything I got in my meal outside of the vegan sausage -- but -- that's not really my thing, so it's not a fair assessment. Coffee was good too, which is nice. My only complaint or concern, I suppose, is that I'm not sure how clean it all is. My coffee cup definitely had syrup of some sort on one side that I didn't notice until I put my mouth on it. Also if you're concerned about cross contamination for whatever reason I definitely had fishy potato (someone in my party ordered salmon). Still good though, I mean, I'd go back -- I just think there's room for improvement.

Would give 4.5 if I could. Very minor things but my oatmeal was cool in the center. Outstanding taste however. Also my fiancé did not love the cinnamon sugar donut bites stating they were very light on the cinnamon sugar and I would have to agree. But the ambiance is bright, the servers are fast and friendly, and the food overall was very very good. Definitely worth a trip to eat here.

I visited here recently with family who live in Racine. This gem is just a couple blocks from their house. They have a patio area set out with limited screened cabanas and heated areas. Reservations are recommended since seating was limited. The service was good - friendly and the staff all wore masks. We started with the cinnamon sugar donut bites. They were warm and fresh. My mom tried the Blue Bear Benedict - deep fried poached eggs, Berkshire ham, potato pancakes, gouda cream sauce and caramelized onions. She said it was good and enjoyed the unusual deep fried poached egg. I had a smoked salmon Benedict that is no longer on the current menu. It was excellent, with a side of cheesy hash. My cousin had the Morning Bun French Toast - vanilla cream, Door County cherry compote, toasted pecans. It was every bit as sinfully decadent as you would imagine. Her husband had a massive breakfast sandwich fit for more than one person. The cocktails were tasty. We sampled Bloody Marys and a couple others from that menu. It does seems their menus change semi regularly, but they are on the web site. Highly recommend their brunch, but I cannot speak to the inside of the restaurant.

Wait a second...Blue Bear!? What, Where? How the heck has this remained a secret!!! I am so torn! If I tell you all exactly how INCREDIBLE the BB is I may not be able to ever get in again. On the other hand, if I do not, it may go the way of the dinosaur and I won't be able to get to eat here... Catch 22! Great things need to be shared! The Blue Bear Is Off The Charts INCREDIBLE! The food is cooked and paired with incredible care and intelligence. The short ribs and ribs are second to none. The various Benedict plates are mind blowing, to include one with delicately dredged and deep fried poached eggs- OMG perfect on the inside and crunchy on the outside - WHAT?! Deep fried poach eggs? Yep... Delicate, runny, and crunchy! Their biscuits could probably break a window they are so massive and substantial, but at the same time they are mixed perfectly to come apart in large buttery layers but never crumble. They take butter and jam like a butter filled sponge! Dinner here... is also head spinning. The Poutine will nearly induce the big O... Too Much?! I think not...Its Poutine that will make you head spin and see stars! The gravy on poutine is so rich and stocky its tastes like you are eating meat. Dinners have been incredible. Butter Squash Risotto, Crispy fried Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta (not bacon folks), Ribs, Rueben (had it protein style, no bread which the accommodated without batting an eye), Chopped Salad which to me is more Cobb like IMHO - All KILLER!!!! Even though there can often be a worth while wait, I have always been able to enter and eat at the bar with no delay. Gina, behind the bar...A total pleasure! Pro bartender, enjoys making her patron's experience wonderful and she is fun to chat with too! Hope you all enjoy the BB as much as I do, heck...I know you will!

How do you give 5 stars for the cinnamon roll and 3 stars for the rest of the food? Cinnamon roll was amazing with flaky crust and soft in the middle. The eggs Benedict was ok but not amazing. I don't think the sweet onion enhanced the flavor at all. The keto bread was gritty. The potato cake was pretty good. Strawberries and coffee do not go together. I would go back for the cinnamon roll only.

On a whim we whipped into Blue Bear. We had heard a thing or two but we weren't sure what to expect. When we walked in we were greeted warmly and sat down. The atmosphere was chill and the place was clean. The eating area isn't huge, but I don't think I saw anyone wait longer than a few minutes. The waitress was patient as we were deciding on drinks for brunch. Then came time for the menu... everything on it sounded amazing. We couldn't figure out what we wanted to try since it all sounded so good. Typically in these positions we choose a few shareable items and we are good to go. We still struggled with what we wanted to try though. It's a rare instance we can't decide at least a few share plates. The prices made it untenable to try the entire menu so we had to make a choice of sorts. Our drinks came out and they were all amazing. Just the regular coffee was robust and strong, but the Vanilla Bourbon Chai Tea was phenomenal. It's mixed with a little bourbon and it went down smooth. The Mexican Mocha was decadent as well and was enjoyed by the group as a tasting as well. For an appetizer we took on the Jumbo Cinnamon Morning Bun and Breakfast Brat Sticks with Guinness Maple Syrup. The cinnamon bun was flaky and wasn't overly sweet. The brat sticks were good alone but drenched in the syrup they stole the show for the appetizers. Next came the plates. We had the Short Rib Hash, Blue Bear Benedict, Chicken Confit and Cheddar Waffles, and a special which was a berry stuffed crepe plate I can't recall the name of. The Short Rib Hash was nothing shy of amazing. The ribs had a wonderful rich flavor that tied the rest of the hash together. The homemade bread toast that came with it was great for sopping up the leftover gravy at the bottom. The Blue Bear Benedict defies everything I knew about poached eggs. They are deep fried poached eggs served on a potato pancake with a slice of ham. Every bite was consistently sensational and you never tired from the flavor combination. I have never been one for chicken and waffles but the Chicken Confit and Cheddar Waffles made a believer of me. The chicken literally fell off the bone with little to no pressure. The waffles were made with aged cheddar and were perfectly crispy. The jalapeño maple syrup wrapped the chicken and the waffles in a warm cocoon of sugary subtle fire. The berry crepes were stuffed with a berry mixture that was fantastic. You can't go wrong stopping in for any of the dishes I tried. The rest of the menu is sure to be just as good I am sure. Great wait staff, easy atmosphere, fast service, and some of the most enjoyable food I have ever had for brunch make this a place to try again and again.

The restaurant is quite spacious and located on the second level of the building. There are options to sit inside, outside but covered, or outside. The marina and Lake Michigan add the experience with great views from the deck area. Our server was very nice. She was super attentive, and we really appreciated her checking back in for refills, napkins, etc. The food was actually the highlight of my experience. I got the garlic shrimp skewers which came with a Hawaiian roll, Cole slaw and a side (I chose a baked potato). My partner got the prime rib dip with hush puppies. Didn't have a chance to take a pic of the cheese curds before they were devoured! Only downside is the place is VERY noisy. Everytime someone who move a chair, the scraping sound was otherworldly. They are metal chairs on a concrete/gravel flooring. Not ideal. And waitstaff was constantly dropping things and running into each other or the chairs/tables. That was a bit chaotic. However, the food was great and so were the views. They also have live music (they had wrapped up before we got there today). I'd definitely come back (maybe sit inside near an area where you can look out on the lake).

The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is spot on and gives you exactly the feel you want in a fine dining establishment. But the thing that makes this restaurant stand far above most others is the service! From the minute we walked in, we encountered nothing but genuine smiles and a sense that everyone there seemed to really care and be invested in us having a wonderful experience in their place of business. We were greeted at the front desk by a team of radiant ladies at the host stand. It seriously felt like they were happy to see us! Violet was especially kind and gracious and we enjoyed a short chat with her. The bartender was pleasant and efficient in taking our large varied order, and the drinks were solid. The bus and runner staff all were personable, polite and expedient. But the true star of our night was our waiter Brandon! He was spectacular. There were 15 of us and he handled our large table calmly and skillfully. He handled our indecisiveness, modifications, add ons, questions and loud revelry, professionally and expertly, never loosing his composure or patience. He definitely made our night. Thank you Brandon. We live in New York and most of the others live in Milwaukee and Minneapolis now, but Racine is the hometown and the 4th of July is a kin to a sacred holiday. The parade not to be missed! So I'm sure many a visit back is in our future, and the next time we do, I will make sure Sebastian's is on the top of our must do list! So please stay wonderful! Our server, Adam, was quick and attentive. He was funny, suggested items for us to try, and was very tentative of our friend's food allergy. Then we ordered the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs (comes with two pieces), Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushrooms, Cappelletti, Slow-braised Bison Cheek, Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish), and the Wood-fired Bavette Steak. Where do I begin? First off, everything was fantastic! Delicious, creative, and memorable. Some dishes even had us ordering seconds! First the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs: so creamy! We ended up ordering another plate of them (four orders) because one wasn't enough for the four of us. The Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushroom: insanely seasoned! It was crispy and the kick of the Thai chili peppers, made it our tables favorite (we ordered another plate of this)! The bits of crunch rice mixed in was also a pleasant surprise. The bits of green beans and cucumber was a nice way to cool the kick of the spices. The Slow-braised Bison Cheek: It was very interesting. Very soft and when paired with the polenta cake, mozzarella, and carrot, it tasted amazing. Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish): Also very interesting. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese catfish soup! The pineapple fish sauce paired amazing with the glass noodles. The only complaint I have about this dish, was that the glass noodles weren't fully cooked, so they were a bit hard. The Wood-fired Bavette Steak: My god, this was amazing! It was perfectly cooked, the dark chocolate bordelaise paired with the mushrooms and steak was incredible. Like I said, everything was amazing! Our table was blown away with the creativity and quality of the food. The service was amazing, everyone was very sweet and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely and quirky. It was fun spotting all the duck decorations. Honestly, cannot rave enough about this place, I look forward to the next time I visit!
