5-Star Review for Erik Nye - The Tree Guy…read more I cannot recommend Erik Nye and his team highly enough. We hired Erik to prune several large Douglas fir trees on our residential property in West Seattle, and the entire experience--from initial contact to final cleanup--was exceptional in every way.Erik's work was truly above and beyond. The pruning was precise, thoughtful, and clearly guided by deep expertise in tree health and aesthetics. He took the time to walk the property with us, explain his recommendations, and ensure the trees not only looked beautiful but were set up for long-term strength and vitality. His crew worked efficiently, safely, and with great care around our home and landscaping. Every aspect of the job was handled professionally and left our property looking better than we could have imagined. What truly sets Erik apart, though, is the person he is. He is incredibly charismatic, radiates positivity, and approaches every interaction with genuine good will. It's clear he loves what he does, and that enthusiasm is contagious. He's also an outstanding mentor to his employees--his team was respectful, skilled, and clearly well-trained under his leadership. If you need tree care in the Seattle area, look no further. Erik Nye is the gold standard. He is a superior professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. Highest possible recommendation! Thank you, Erik!

Treee133 thoroughly impressed me; I was extremely pleased with the every aspect of our interactions. Everyone involved was knowledgable, professional, and very friendly, from initial contact through the free assessment/estimate and finally to the work crew who came out to handle the job. They were prompt in all their responses, showed up when they said they would, and finished the work quickly and cleanly. I could not have been happier with the outcome. I will not hesitate to call them again If I find myself needing similar services.

They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive bid we got for the work; but they were the most professional, the most organized, and the most focused on both the aesthetic work of the trimming AND the health of the trees. They are a great company to work with if: you want the work done well, the first time. You want your trees and property to look better afterwards. You don't want to worry about a person accidentally catapulting off a hundred foot tall Douglas Fir on your property. You value arborists that show up on time and are a well organized, detail-oriented team. On my research: One company reached out to us for tree work when we first moved in - their quote was triple what Tree133 ended up charging, so I put the work off for a couple of years. When I decided to get quotes for the work: another company was nice, but did not show up when we asked them to for the quote because I wanted to walk through the work with them, took a week to deliver the quote, and was half of what Tree133 ended up charging. A third company didn't even call us back. A fourth company was so disorganized that we couldn't even set up a time for a quote.

We agreed to pruning after a branch had previously fallen on my neighbor's house, so we wanted the work done responsibly and according to an arborist's recommendations. The tree is also classified as a Tier 2 tree under Seattle code (previously called an "exceptional tree"), which made it even more important that the pruning be done carefully and conservatively. Before any work was done, I hired an arborist to evaluate the tree and provide a report, which was referenced in the contract. Unfortunately, it became obvious afterward that they either never read the report or completely ignored its recommendations. The tree was massively overtrimmed and heavily underskirted to the point that it now looks mutilated. I am genuinely depressed every time I look at it. What was once a beautiful mature tree now looks stripped and unnatural. The company never communicated with us directly before doing the work and instead coordinated only with my neighbor while I was out of town. At no point did they review the plan with us, discuss the arborist recommendations, or confirm the scope of pruning before cutting. To their credit, they did provide a partial refund afterward, but it does not make up for the irreversible damage done to the tree or the distress this has caused. We hired professionals because we wanted careful, informed tree care -- not permanent damage. Extremely disappointed.
