I am not sure what happened to this location but my experience was mediocre to say the least. The lasagna, even though it tasted good did not look super appetizing. Tomato soup is pretty sour. Pizza was burnt in the bottom but still served. Don't think will ever come back to this location. Note for those who clean the tables, please wipe the seats as well.

Today was a very busy day for the week long 'Pie Day' offers at Sauce. Aria and Lucas were able to assist quite easily for a complex order of very picky young eaters and made sure to do everything with a smile, patience and the best hospitality and customer service like stars. These employees make establishments like these stick out create returning customers! Wonderful management of the store to ownership as well. Very quick and prompt with orders.

I was surprised to find vegan items ! Got the roasted veggie salad & sourdough bread with balsamic & vinegar and it was the perfect finish to a great day .

Food, service, atmosphere is just perfect, especially when everything around you is chaotic. This is my comfort food. Kitchen is still packed so Sauce is my personal "chef" for a few more days!

The service is always great here (Broadway and Grant locations), the food is delicious and the space is clean. We ordered pizzas, the garlic knots, a caesar salad and a side of marinara pasta. I won't be ordering the pasta again anytime soon, it was very bland, but the caesar salad is one of the best I've ever had! It was so refreshing. The garlic knots were also spectacular! The prices are high, unfortunately, for what you get, but I really enjoyed going here anyway.

This HAS to be a joke. Ordered a full size pasta and what I got was this minuscule LESS THAN HALF potion. Wtf is this??? Full size should at least cover all the bottom corners, and come decently higher level but this is an offense. I've been eating at Sauce for almost 5 years and its been going downhill but today was the last straw. You increase prices but why the F are you giving me less food?

The food came out quickly, the staff was friendly, food was great. I love coming to sauce and will definitely be coming back.

It's been a while since I've eaten at Sauce, but I can't remember why I stopped. The pizza is great and the prices are pretty good considering their competition. They have a deal for a pizza, salad, and two glasses of wine for $29. I didn't get that deal just a pizza and their cabrese on a stick. The pizza great, nice fired crust, seasoned sauce, quality ingredients. The cabrese on a stick was 2 grape tomatoes, two balls of mozzarella, a basil leaf and balsamic. Yes it was small, but it was tasty. So I may just stick to pizza and a salad next time.

Service was fast and friendly, especially for a busy Friday night. This was my first time here and the pizza did not disappoint. It's a white pizza, I added mushrooms then they topped it with a fresh chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was warm and shredded, not cubed and cold like most places. The pizza has a great taste and the cheese is melty and yummy! It was a little loud due to how crowded it was, but it was tolerable. Definitely will return.

Wow! What a great dining experience. The staff had a great energy and their salad recommendation was spot on. The lasagna pizza was also very good. Great job!!

Honestly not very impressed by the place. I ordered caprese skewers and their secret bruschetta. I came with a group of friends and there was plenty of seating for our group. The staff was friendly and there seemed to be a wide variety of food. I am giving it a three because as I was taking my last bite of bruschetta I found a hair. I knew it wasn't mine and since I was already done with my meal didn't bother saying anything as I didn't find it appropriate to reimburse since it had been eaten and I was def not wanting anything else as I was grossed out.

Stopped in again for our favorites this time we added a pasta, grilled cheese and tomato soup. The service is always spot on and the food the same. The dining room is always clean and there is a TV for sports if you must. It is very much a family place with pizza and salads so everyone can get an appropriate meal for their taste. Will be back for the pig which is my favorite!

Black specks are wheat flour on the bottom of my gluten free pizza
    Amanda W.

This place is not celiac safe. We had been eating there regularly but tonight our pizza looked weird/different. It was carry out so I called and spoke to the manager. The bottom of the pizza felt gritty like I remember wheat pizza being. The manager confirmed that the black specks all over the bottom of the crust are wheat flour since they don't have a separate oven. I tried to play with the contrast on the photo but maybe it's hard to see. I didn't realize they weren't cooking the pizza with any kind of barrier like foil or parchment- my mistake for not asking.

We didn't have any fancy plans for Memorial Day yet still felt the celebratory elation of a 3-day…read morewknd and decided to treat ourselves to some Friday steaks. The first thing I need to own is that it's a shame I hadn't visited here before. We arrived at 5:30p and both the bar and patio areas were packed - standing room only, and no wonder. They have one of the better happy hours (daily! 3:00 - 6:30p) - able to accommodate both the slacker and the over-timer Lol. Basic drinks are all discounted such as house wines, well drinks, and beers. Their bottled wines and craft cocktails are all exempt though. Many of their appetizers are also discounted and some quite substantially. We grabbed a glass of the house cabernet ($6, normally $8) and the grilled shrimp wrapped in jalapeno bacon ($13, normally $20). NOTE: happy hour pricing is Only available if you order/consume at the bar or on the patio at that's clear in advance and understandable. The dining areas were only half full at this early point (but filled up by 6:30) and the host kindly encouraged us to enjoy our starters at the bar as she would hold our table. We were then sat near the "back" of this long venue and frankly, aside from the lone windowed table at the very front, this would be my preferred seating - cozy, intimate, with only five other tables around us. For dinner drinks she got an Italian Nebbiolo Bricco Magno Red Blend ($13/glass, reliably terrific/mellow) and I got the Chupacabra ($15) Mezcal/prickly pear cocktail, strong and excellent as well. We got an additional appetizer: the roasted bone marrow ($19). I had never had before but she raved about how good this can be if done properly (bonus, it is super healthy). Folks, a picture/worth a 1000... suffice to say this was simply outstanding! We both had long work weeks and were craving meat - just a damn good steak. Our waiter, without blinking recommended the 8oz bison filet mignon ($65) as his absolute menu fav, and the day's special: 14oz ribeye ($50). We ordered each. All dinners come with two sides and we each got the day's special: roasted half artichoke and she got the loaded baked potato while I got the mashed potatoes. Food arrived in about 15 minutes later at good temperature (warm/rested with a strong char) with each being accurately grilled (medium and medium-rare). Taste was outstanding. Neither one of us had bison filet before and marveled how it (subtly) added a "wild" edge to an always outstanding, lean-but-tender, cut of beef. The loaded baked was terrific, however, the mashed was the only disappointment... a plainer mash one could not make themselves - pure white and borderline dry, no milk, butter, egg, gravy(?), nothing to make it creamy or add any flavor dimension - a surprise frankly. The only other "critique" is that the dessert menu could add some kind of dark/chocolate concoction. All in all, though, we loved our experience and have decided to add this to our periodic special dinners rotation! Staff was outstanding - just the proper balance of attentive and quiet - and waters never went below half empty. Parking is free and plentiful, especially behind the restaurant (and yes, if you continue on around the back there is another long entrance/exit driveway that comes out the other side of Jimmy John's and Noodleholics.

I understand the head chef has a French influence, but frankly it overwhelms the food and takes away from the freshness. I had the snapper since they didn't have the halibut. It seemed over cooked and then drenched in sauce with greens on top, also drenched in sauce. The saddest part was they sat us in the back room. Where they seemed to sit everyone coming into the restaurant. If the restaurant was packed I would understand but every other room was empty. Who wants to sit along the pathway to the bathroom? Service was so/so. Had to ask for drinks multiple times. But frankly the quality of the food was not worth the cost. Definitely will not be returning, until they revamp the menu to include less French style and more uniquely inspired fresh food. I mean if we wanted French we would have gone to Le Rendezvous or Wild Garlic which are top notch.

We live in the neighborhood and have stopped in before (more on that later), so the other day we swung by to grab a bottle of our go-to white, Dos Cabezas. It's an inexpensive, easy-to-find Arizona bottle that literally every wine bar, bottle shop, and grocery store in town sells for $25 or less. AZ Wine Collective's price? $40. For a to-go bottle. Not opened, not enjoyed there, just handed over in a bag. It's $22 across the street at Trader Joe's, and at other local wine bars/bottle shops, it's never over $25. Honestly, I should've known better after our first visit. We initially stopped in for a glass of wine because we love Arizona wines and were excited to support a neighborhood spot. Then we met the owner, who explained he bought the business after following his daughter to U of A while she attends college from the Midwest. He openly admitted he "thought it would be a fun business to have, but doesn't know much about wine." That checks out. One look at the tasting menu and it's painfully clear no one here is curating anything. If the owner doesn't know much about wine, who is training the staff? No one. It's clear they can only recite the tasting notes supplied by the wineries. And the charcuterie board? Imagine paying premium prices for the same cheese you could toss into your cart at Fry's. Nothing wrong with grocery store cheese, but if I'm paying wine bar prices, I hope for something a little more inspiring than pepper jack cubes. The vibe? Picture sipping wine... in a HomeGoods. Everything about this place screams "mustard is too spicy": the décor, the wine selection, the food, all of it. Ambiance? Haven't seen her. I'm sure there's a "It's wine o'clock somewhere" sign lurking about. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Tucson has several fantastic wine bars that know what they're doing and won't charge you 40 bucks for a $22 bottle.

They were both incredibly kind, took the time to really listen, and genuinely understood my concerns. That meant a lot to me, and it's clear they truly care about their guests and their business. I also appreciated how personable Rebecca was, she was very present, empathetic, kind, and understanding, acknowledging that the situation had been handled very poorly. I've always loved the food here, you can taste the quality, creativity, and mindfulness in everything. Every other staff member I've encountered has been wonderful as well. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and honestly a great little getaway. Because of how this was handled and the consistency in everything else, I'm updating this to 5 stars. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, unwind from life's demands, share an impressive bite, and enjoy a glass of rosé while taking in the ambiance. I definitely recommend supporting this local business. Rebecca is a genuine, savvy businesswoman, and I really respect the care and intention behind what she has built. Cheers to letting the sunshine in and the dark cloud fade away. (Original review below for context) Very disappointing experience. Our server, Bryce, was dismissive, rude and inattentive from the start. He wasn't checking on our table at all, and we had to flag him down just to get drinks. We were still eating and planning to order more food and drinks, but service never improved. After waiting with empty glasses, I went inside to order another glass of rosé for myself and a second gin and tonic for my friend. That's when he told me he was "closing us out" and that we needed to leave. This was completely unprovoked and said in front of the bartender and other staff, which made the situation uncomfortable and unprofessional. We were not intoxicated or disruptive in any way. I had only had two glasses of rosé and was trying to order a third, and my friend had one cocktail and was ordering her second. The third glass I did receive appeared under-poured, which added to the overall discomfort, but at that point we were just trying to enjoy our time and catch up. It was surprising that a server would take it upon himself to cut off and remove guests under these circumstances, especially when basic service had not even been provided. Because of this, we chose not to order additional food or drinks. I've been here before with friends and clients and had good experiences, which makes this even more disappointing. This experience completely changed my impression, and I will not be returning

My concern is with the food--none of the dishes we ordered tasted good, and the price was high for the portions we received. The ceasar salad, for example, was bland, and the dressing was salty and bitter. When compared to the salad at a restaurant just down to road, I found this one inedible. I rarely write reviews and I don't do this in a mean-spirited way--I would love to see a local restaurant and bar succeed. It is just that we paid $83 for two drinks and 4 small plates, and couldn't eat two of them and left hungry. I hope the food can improve!

Everything was flavorful, our experience would have been better if we were able to get in and out a little quicker.
