Karaage

HUGEEEEE PORTIONS Honestly you could probably split a bowl between 2 people. Like many others, I've wanted to try out this new ramen shop but I kept getting deterred by the long lines. I finally managed to come on a weekday when the wait wasn't too bad and boy did I luck out. The night that I went, their daily special was a curry ramen. The ramen came with a slice of butter which at first seemed strange to me but after letting it melt and mix in with the rest of the broth made perfect sense! The noodles had a nice chew to it and were more of a flat noodle. The broth was super rich and the curry flavor was very prominent without overwhelming the rest of the components. The chashu pieces were a nice mix between super fatty and more lean. We also ordered their karaage and did not expect to get so many pieces. While the seasoning on the chicken is light, they provide many condiments and sauces to accompany it so that you can pick and choose what flavors you want. I liked dipping mine in their mayo and their house made shrimp chili sauce (mixed it together to make a sort of spicy mayo). The breading on the chicken was light and crisp so that the chicken didn't feel too heavy. Will definitely be back again, I managed to take home enough leftovers to make a whole new meal!

Decided to try Satoshi Ramen and it's a great addition to downtown Burlingame. We tried both flavors available, the regular Ramen and the Karami (spicy) and both were super flavorful. Our server let us know their broth is on the saltier side and suggested going lighter if we were concerned. We stuck with regular strength and found it just right for our palate, though I can definitely see why some would find it salty. The ajitama egg was phenomenal! perfectly smooth, silky yolk with a nice sweet flavor. We also ordered the karaage after a fair warning about the portion size (lol, they weren't kidding). Huge fan of the karaage, and the dipping sauce is awesome! Super happy with our dinner. Service was attentive and I'm glad they're in Burlingame. Just keep in mind they don't do takeout for the ramen.

Karaage - huge portion!! 9/10

We are always looking for a new ramen place so when Satoshi opened up in downtown Burlingame, we knew we had to try it out! We came on a Saturday and head's up - parking is rough in that area. We were able to secure a spot in the nearby neighborhood, which was a short 5 minute walk. Luckily, that area is very pedestrian friendly so the walk was not bad at all. We were greeted warmly and were sat almost immediately at 11:30. The menu was simple and very similar to Ramen Nagi - you can pick from soup (standard), spicy broth, or soupless. Other options included flavor strength/saltiness, oil richness, green onion, bamboo shoots, and thick vs thin noodles. I picked all the default options and we also got the chicken karaage. When the ramen and chicken came out, I was shook as the portions were HUGE! There was no way we were able to finish it all, even though we wanted to so bad. The broth wasn't like the traditional "ramen" broth - it was clearer and almost felt a little cleaner? The karaage was also super delicious and crispy. Overall, great service and great food. I would def go again, but next time a little more hungry!

Finally! Fantastic ramen in the heart of downtown Burlingame. I'm normally a tonkatsu ramen kind of guy, but the clear broth pork belly ramen served at Satoshi really impressed me. It's full of flavor and umami, but it doesn't feel as heavy as your traditional tonkatsu. And the pork is incredibly tender and flavorful. Be sure to also order their chicken karaage. The chicken is super crispy and the portions are huge. Service is top-notch and super friendly, and the interior ambiance makes you feel like you're in a cozy ramen parlor in Japan.

Wonderful addition to Burlingame! We needed a legit local ramen shop and Satoshi delivers. It brings a unique (to the bay) bowl of ramen that is more reminiscent of the local shops you find in Japan. Instead of the widely popular white creamy looking tonkotsu, it brings a sweet porky bone broth that lets the noodles and meat really shine. The broth is by no means bland or unremarkable, it's what sets the flavor profile. The noodles r bouncy, not too smooth so broth clings to it nicely. The topping options are simple but enough. The kaarage plate was massive and overall pretty good. The chickens moist and breading light and crispy. The service is always quick and friendly even as people start piling in. We usually go on weekday lunches now when there's no line but honestly this place should be more packed!

One hour wait

October 2026 Super overrated hype that we fell for yet again. Not sure why this has up to an hour long wait times. Yes, the noodles are handmade, but wow is the broth ever so plain. Here's the thing if they don't want you to add garlic on their menu and to just use the table garlic, then why put it on your menu checklist????? So one of our friends checked the garlic box and was yelled at because, per the guy, she needed to taste the pure flavor, then can add her own garlic at the table. So much for free will! Like what??? Then don't put it on your menu to add then! So, like I said, super plain small noodles with little flavor, and no real toppings. We all left hungry. My friend's spicy broth was spicy but only in like a 50% spicy non flavorful way. We all left very disappointed and are waiting for another ramen shop to open up.

Got a chance to check out this highly anticipated ramen spot. I suppose I got lucky today as there was no line so got a seat right at the bar. They serve a style of ramen called Chan Kei Style which is a clear pork based broth unlike the more common tonkotsu broth. You are handed a piece of paper to customize ramen selections such as the amount of salt, garlic, spices, etc. This is very common in Ramen shops in Japan. I was disappointed that the ramen doesn't come with an egg but decided to pay the $4 for an egg. The noodles are a little more flat and smooth, almost like udon consistency but thinner. The ramen bowl came with generous chashu portions as well as scallions, more than a typical ramen bowl, which I appreciated. The added egg, while a bit expensive at $4, was well made and marinated. The yolk was cooked perfectly, slightly runny. The pork broth was clean and flavorful. You can add some additional condiments available on the table such as garlic and vinegar. One downside is that they pretty much serve only one type of ramen so if you have a big party, you all are essentially eating the same thing. Sometimes, it's fun to have some varieties where you can get a taste of different things. Well, you are not going to get that here.

Satoshi Ramen Shop is a solid spot for ramen! The broth is flavorful and has a good depth to it, and they're pretty generous with the meat. I am so glad I was able to try it especially after seeing the long line when walking by before! The ordering process is straightforward, you order while you're in line on a piece of paper, it reminded me of Ramen Nagi. The wait can be a little long, but I think it's worth it for the quality of the ramen. Overall, flavorful broth, generous portions, and a good bowl of ramen. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

This is a wonderful new gem of a ramen place in Burlingame. On Friday night around dinner time, there was a line. Fortunately the line moved pretty fast and the staff is efficient and quick with everything. The menu is probably the simplest I've ever seen. There are just four items: ramen, chicken wings, rice and Coke. We split the wings, two of us got the spicy ramen and two of us got the regular ramen. I'm not sure why the spicy bowls were bigger than the regular ones. I also love the decor in the restaurant shock included Pokémon merch for sale.

We tried Satoshi for lunch today and got in with the first wait, but can imagine a long line for dinner. We both had the spicy broth and all the chef's recommendations, including no garlic (can add it on the side, it's free on the table). You can see the staff making the noodles fresh and it is clear the chef takes a lot of care and pride in the food. The noodles were perfect and the broth was tasty. Menu is super simple. Space is clean, bright and modern. We didn't get the chicken wings but next time we will - it's an unreal deal: $13 for 15 large juicy looking wings.

One of the best new ramen places in town. Service is great, the waiters and waitresses are very attentive. The ramen is delicious - best I've had in the Bay Area since this is supposed to derive from Japan. I loved the homemade sauces on the side which include kimchi. Ambiance is great - spacious and feels like Japan.

When we arrived someone will go over the menu with you. The line does go by hella fast, so don't be intimidated. As they explain the menu, they suggest no garlic because there's garlic on your table where you can adjust to your liking. Unfortunately, they didn't have abura soba when we came in =-(! I recommend light salt on the ramen because the broth is already salty. I didn't like the chicken wings, it was messy to eat, but you get a big portion for a fair price. The interior felt like a legit ramen shop in Japan, but with a lot of space. I think it's cool that they welcome you in Japanese as you step in the restaurant and also how they sell Pokémon cards on the side.

I was pretty excited to come here! We had made a reservation and still had to wait in a line to get in. We didn't have to wait long thankfully and the service once we got seated was great. I do like how simple the menu is, and especially for it to be this simple, I'm expecting that the restaurant is specialized in the two main food items. For me and the people at my table, the ramen was really salty and too oily, and it made it very difficult for us to continue eating. I'm also used to eating saltier and oiler/heavy ramens but this was a little too much for me. However, I loved the chicken karaage. The crisp on the chicken was great and it was pretty juicy inside. I wasn't the biggest fan of the dipping sauce, it tasted almost like a Chinese ginger soy sauce, so it just wasn't for me. All in all, I would still be open to come back and try again. Maybe our ramen was just saltier that day!

So…read moretoday, I specifically decided to come at 4 PM to avoid the crowd, and it worked perfectly--absolutely no wait at all! The staff was friendly and efficient. They took my order quickly and professionally without any unnecessary small talk, which I actually appreciated. I ordered a bowl of tonkotsu ramen, their signature tsukemen (dipping noodles), and a plate of edamame, which is one of my favorite appetizers. The tonkotsu ramen came with thin noodles, very similar to the ones I've had at Ramen Nagi. The texture was excellent, and the broth was flavorful without being overly greasy or salty. It also came with both chashu pork and tender, fatty pork slices, which were incredibly delicious and practically melted in my mouth. As for the tsukemen, the noodles were slightly thicker, with a wonderfully chewy and springy texture. The dipping sauce was rich, thick, and flavorful, with a taste that reminded me of a concentrated miso-based sauce. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and very satisfying! Overall, considering the friendly and efficient service, clean dining environment, delicious food, and reasonable prices, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Japanese ramen. My only suggestion is to avoid peak dining hours unless you're prepared for a long wait. Coming during off-peak hours, like 4 PM, is definitely a great way to enjoy the food without standing in line!

There was barely any broth, very few ingredients, a huge amount of noodles, and only two super-thin slices of pork. For the price, it just didn't feel worth it. With so many great ramen options and so much competition around the San Mateo area, they really need to step up their game. Sadly, this place just isn't the same anymore.

The service was amazing -- one super efficient waiter handled pretty much the whole room with a manager. Very attentive water refills and very accessible. The food came out so quickly and was delicious! Chicken katsu curry is $18 and generously portioned. I got the katsu rice plate (no curry sauce, but a sweet BBQ-ish katsu sauce) which came with a pile of cabbage salad, pickled cucumber salad, marinara spaghetti (somewhat inexplicably, but they do specialize in Japanese spaghetti here), rice, and miso soup for $19. A good deal! Chicken was tender and moist. The chicken katsu udon has a good amount of spice and flavor; just note it's on the spicy side. Also really appreciate the sesame seed grinder, the assortment of peppers and spices at the table you could add, and that there is a self-serve napkin dispenser. Those little things make a difference.

Compatriots had gotten the teishoku plate with spaghetti. Everything was good and cooked well. We loved how quickly everything came out, and a good crunch for fried ingredients. The potage had a nice sweetness to it tho it was a small side. I liked how it wasn't too heavy overall with each of the dishes. The katsu don hit the spot for me since it wasn't too much, well balanced, and just the right amount foodwise. I liked the pickled radishes and sunomono since it worked as a great cleanser between bites. The beef hayashi and omurice was solid, meat cooked well and tender. Sauce wasn't overpowering or too heavy which was great. The aromatics on the omurice was a nice touch too. Compatriots liked the teishoku but enjoyed the curry sauce more annd would've picked that instead. Katsu was still solid but they just wanted to try something different. We'd certainly stop by if in the area again. This was a quick and easy visit and makes sense for the wait considering how quickly food comes out.
