Starting off the review, I submitted an information request online and received no response the…read morenext day, which is usually not the case for most dealerships. They typically respond quickly to any leads to make a sale. So, I called the dealership the following afternoon to ask about fees. They informed me that each bike is different and could have varying fees, so they couldn't (or wouldn't) give me an out-the-door price over the phone. About 15 minutes after my call, I received a call back from a salesperson. I told them that it seemed like a good deal, but I didn't want the $1,999 price to increase significantly due to bogus/high fees. They absolutely refused to provide any pricing over the phone, which is an automatic red flag in my opinion. Their excuse was that only "normal fees" would apply, and they claimed to be super short-staffed, unable to do paperwork for everyone. An employee named Tyler assured me that he was handling sales, service, and everything else at the shop, so he couldn't provide an out-the-door price because he was just too busy. I have dealt with many honest dealerships, and while they might not have known the out-the-door price immediately, they either ran the numbers and called me back or emailed me a PDF/document with the complete price. Hollister Powersports goes one step further and shows the fees you'll be charged, such as freight, destination, and setup fees, directly on their website. The lack of transparency at this dealer is disappointing and would love to give them my business but I won't go in if they're going to play games. I've owned multiple motorcycles over the years, and only the dishonest dealers operate in this manner. I've even completed motorcycle sales entirely over the phone and had them delivered without hassle(Eurocycle Sonoma). The dealer provided me with the out-the-door price with minimal hassle; it just took some time. I'd advise to avoid this place and avoid the headache and frustration that comes with dishonest dealerships. Update: After cancelling my appointment with the salesperson over the phone they kept trying to avoid giving me a price over the phone. I declined and told them I'd only deal with more transparent dealerships. They gave me a call shortly after and left a voicemail saying that we could "work something out over the phone". If we had started with that conversation in the first place I'd likely have purchased the bike outright. I'd have known my out the door price and overall felt better overall about the experience. The management/ownership of this dealership needs to change tactics on how they go about sales. I will say throughout that the salesperson Tyler was polite and was never rude to me over the phone. Of course as always with businesses the employees are great but are kneecapped by managements blindness to the customer experience.

I came in this morning and was greeted by two of the kindest gentleman I have ever met. They were both incredibly patient, thoughtful and empathetic while we discussed the damage and what my options would be. I came back at the end of the day to some very good news and the even better unexpected news that they would go over my estimate with me to see where I could save on sourcing parts for the repair! Given that the last two shops I went to straight up lied and fudged the hell out of the estimate(to the point where I almost lost my bike because they claimed so much that State Farm wanted to total loss it) I was obviously nervous about going to a new shop to potentially have the same thing happen. I'm so happy to say I've found a new shop for life and that I've finally found people I can trust with my most precious belonging. Thank you guys so much for everything, you guys are the absolute best

The pro is they're one of the few dealers that sells new Yamahas around San Jose and they're open Sundays. That being said, I do not like their customer service at times. When I'm interested in a bike, they pull it out and let me see it. But there was a time I went with a bike I purchased at the dealership I always go. The employee at GP sports asked me where I got it and when I told them where, he laughed and said something like "they're not a real dealer, we're the real ones" and spoke a bit more talking down on the dealership I got my bike at. It felt very unwelcoming and uncomfortable because I felt very attacked since my choice and my motorcycle was talked down on. Don't get me wrong, they were probably joking but I always get some arrogant and cocky feel from a lot of their older employees. They feel very corporate. Another time, they showed no compassion and left it at "it's policy, we can't take in service bikes on Sunday" when my acquaintance crashed his bike right across the shop in the parking lot and wanted to leave it with them for a repair. Their service department was going to open Tuesday, and told us to tow the bike home and tow it back Tuesday. We decided to just take it home and repair ourselves. It is fair for them to have boundaries but the arrogant, "it's your fault" feel they had and con compassion made the experience very bad. I am coming from a very welcoming dealer that I believe would at least call the boss to see if they can take the bike in so I was very unpleasant. The younger employees and some other employees are very friendly and nice so it hurts to leave this review, but as a whole, it was never a great experience going there. It seems like I'm not the only one since I hear bad things about them, and you can read the other reviews for yourself :(

Before they'll accept a bike on consignment, they charge $200 for a health and safety inspection. My 2018 Indian Scout Bobber had fewer than 4,000 miles, was in excellent condition, and passed that inspection without issue. After my bike sat on their showroom floor for 10 months, I received a call saying they could no longer sell it unless I paid approximately $700 to replace the fork seals and another $150 for a new battery. The battery recommendation made no sense because I had installed a brand-new battery only a month before dropping the bike off. It also appears the battery was never kept on a tender during the 10 months they had possession of it. When I picked up my motorcycle, I discovered a large scratch on the top of the rear fender that was not there when I left it. They denied any responsibility. To make matters worse, they still tried to charge me to replace the battery before releasing my bike. Overall, I left disappointed with the communication, the care taken with my motorcycle, and what felt like unnecessary repair recommendations after almost a year of waiting. I would not use their consignment service again.
