I recently shopped around for a new bike after having to go through a buy back on a bike I was riding. Salinas motorcycle center happen to have the kawi zx 10r I was looking for in the color I wanted. I was super surprised to meet Marie the owner on the phone and had a super fun conversation, that eventually led to meeting her husband Ben, the sales team, and the techs in the shop. I had fun banter with everyone over the next couple days buying the bike. Was helped setting sag, and loading the bike super safely in my truck. I got what I wanted, not the motorcycle as much as a family owned dealer and service center that I want to do business with. That is most important to me these days having access to people I can talk to and work with as I enjoy my favorite things, motorcycles and cool people. Ben Bosinger read more

Salinas Motor Sport gave me a great experience, but I have to be honest -- Adrian stood out the most. Not only was he helpful and professional, but the man is straight-up handsome. He's got this strong, sharp horse-jawline that you really can't ignore. He was respectful, easy to talk to, and honestly made the whole visit a lot better just by being there. Great customer service and great energy overall. Definitely recommend this place -- and shoutout to Adrian for being an absolute standout. read more

I'm official a motorcycle owner and that's all thanks to Allen and Tyler from Salinas Motorcycle Center. Allen and Tyler made the buying process smooth and stress free. I purchased a Kawasaki Z125 Pro, service team even helped me load it into my Denial enclosed truck. Yes a Z125 pro does fit into an enclosed truck (see photo) you just need to lean the bike a bit and take off the mirrors. Service team helped me strap the bike down. Customer service is beyond great. Don't listen to the negative reviews. I will definitely be back for a 600cc bike! read more

I am shocked by so many negative reviews for a business that treated us so well! My husband and I have been Jeep fans for years, but recently decided to get into the side by side club. After doing a lot of research we decided that the Polaris RZR best met our needs. We found the exact model we wanted at a dealer more local to us and we drove there to purchase it. Unfortunately they literally sold it the day before we arrived. I was determined to find our dream RZR elsewhere ASAP. I seriously searched high and low and finally found our dream RZR at Salinas Motorcycle Center. I called and spoke with Tyler who confirmed they had the RZR we wanted in stock. After completing some of the preliminary paperwork online, we made an appointment to purchase and pick up our new toy. Despite it being a long drive to get there, the entire process was super easy and painless. Tyler was a delight to work with! He treated us very well and made two people extremely happy. We would definitely recommend Salinas Motorcycle Center based on our experience. We highly recommend working with Tyler! We are super excited and can't wait to start using our new toy! read more

I was skeptical of the other reviews about this place, and how many negative reviews were left. I still gave this place a try. Alas, like the others mentioned, they refuse to have any conversation about prices "unless you're going to buy a bike today, by the end of our conversation". A rushed experience, and only able to talk unless they KNOW you're going to leave with a bike. Unfortunately I did come in for a bike the other day, but after seeing their customer service, and witness the work ethic, I decided to go somewhere else. Truly unfortunate for the company. They pride themselves on the "since 50 years" mentality, but I hope they haven't been treating people like this since. read more

Starting off the review, I submitted an information request online and received no response the next day, which is usually not the case for most dealerships. They typically respond quickly to any leads to make a sale. So, I called the dealership the following afternoon to ask about fees. They informed me that each bike is different and could have varying fees, so they couldn't (or wouldn't) give me an out-the-door price over the phone. About 15 minutes after my call, I received a call back from a salesperson. I told them that it seemed like a good deal, but I didn't want the $1,999 price to increase significantly due to bogus/high fees. They absolutely refused to provide any pricing over the phone, which is an automatic red flag in my opinion. Their excuse was that only "normal fees" would apply, and they claimed to be super short-staffed, unable to do paperwork for everyone. An employee named Tyler assured me that he was handling sales, service, and everything else at the shop, so he couldn't provide an out-the-door price because he was just too busy. I have dealt with many honest dealerships, and while they might not have known the out-the-door price immediately, they either ran the numbers and called me back or emailed me a PDF/document with the complete price. Hollister Powersports goes one step further and shows the fees you'll be charged, such as freight, destination, and setup fees, directly on their website. The lack of transparency at this dealer is disappointing and would love to give them my business but I won't go in if they're going to play games. I've owned multiple motorcycles over the years, and only the dishonest dealers operate in this manner. I've even completed motorcycle sales entirely over the phone and had them delivered without hassle(Eurocycle Sonoma). The dealer provided me with the out-the-door price with minimal hassle; it just took some time. I'd advise to avoid this place and avoid the headache and frustration that comes with dishonest dealerships. Update: After cancelling my appointment with the salesperson over the phone they kept trying to avoid giving me a price over the phone. I declined and told them I'd only deal with more transparent dealerships. They gave me a call shortly after and left a voicemail saying that we could "work something out over the phone". If we had started with that conversation in the first place I'd likely have purchased the bike outright. I'd have known my out the door price and overall felt better overall about the experience. The management/ownership of this dealership needs to change tactics on how they go about sales. I will say throughout that the salesperson Tyler was polite and was never rude to me over the phone. Of course as always with businesses the employees are great but are kneecapped by managements blindness to the customer experience. read more

Im in the market for a new bike so i called to get a price on a kawaski. The listing online says "ON SALE" so i ask what is if there is any "SALE" price they could not give me a number. The guy on the phone Tyler then gives the phone to his MANAGER/OWNER which then starts to tell me "i cant make a purchase over the phone, come on down lets make a deal business is made in person not over the phone" yet to give me a price period. Then proceeds to hang up, pretty rude if you ask me. I called back and asked why he hung up on me, he said he thought our conversation was over. I then told him "i never got a price for out the door or the "ON SALE" price. He said see we dont have time to waste we are a small business making sales left and right, so i cant waste my time if you arent ready to buy. We have been doing this for over 50 years we can make a deal in person not over the phone. Doesnt seem very welcoming. If you cant have a normal conversation, answer a simple question, dont wouldnt want to find out what they are like in person. read more

If I could give it NEGATIVE stars I would. Every single employee here feels and acts like they walk on water. Do they forget that I'm the one shopping for a toy while they work? They are condescending, racist and arrogant. If that's your jam, go ahead. Never again. read more

I really don't understand all the negative reviews about this place. EVERYONE that works here is super friendly and very helpful with what ever you are looking for! Tyler the floor rep and Hunter the mechanic in the back both went beyond customer service with helping me with the bikes that I wanted. I bought two pit bikes! I've yet to find a good motorcycle shop in Monterey, Santa Cruz or Santa Clara counties. Called this place and waited a week before writing this review. Regarding the service department. The receptionist asked my year, make and model and then assumed something was wrong with the bike. I explained nothing was wrong other than I wanted new tires. Was even will to buy theirs... A week later after no call back, this review explains how motorcycle shops suck when it comes to service. Looking back, I'm glad they didn't touch my bike. Probably wouldn't know how to work on it anyway. Good luck with this place. It won't get my business or $$ read more

I bought a Mule from this dealership. It was a lot of followup on my part to get in my possession. It was missing 3 screws on the front panel which was disclosed when it was looked by my friend before pick up. I was told it was an easy installing they would send the screws to me via mail. This took 6 weeks. I received the crews and realized it needed a professional to install. I called and spoke to Benjamin who pretty much laughed and said they couldn't do anything. He said I would have to call another dealership to get it installed. They sold a Mule to me incomplete. Benjamin was so rude when he said he couldn't talk because he was overwhelmed and he would think about it. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will never refer, recommend or shop here again and I suggest those looking here do the same. read more

If you purchase something here plan on paying more than the price you thought you'd be paying. They won't tell you the prices before you come in and they only let you go in one at a time, in the end you're stuck with an extra $1000 in fees of this or that. Tried to service my bike here twice and just gave up. My friends were able to come over and just fix my bike or bring it to another shop for me within an hour whereas I'm still waiting on my call back from this place. Love my bike though, it's sick and keeps up definitely recommend if you want to learn how to work on a bike. (Its throttle wire snapping twice, back tire popping, idle coming loose, and the bolt that fastens the engine falling off) so I'll give y'all 2 stars, lol. read more

I'll be so sad to read all these negative reviews. I work here and these are the nicest people that will go out of their way to help you. Granted the doors are locked but that's so they can give everybody that walks in the door. Individual attention. All you need to do is call set an appointment. Let them know when you're coming in. It's that easy. I can honestly say that everybody that works there genuinely cares about their customers and their co-workers. Five stars read more

I recently purchased a Fragment Camo Gray Kawasaki KLX300 from Salinas Motorcycle Center, and I had the best experience! SMC is one of the better shops I had visited in the process of looking for my machine and hands down the friendliest and most helpful staff! When I called and confirmed they had my hard to find bike in stock I wanted to secure it fast but was coming from out of town and had to adjust my work schedule on short notice. Tyler from the sales team understood my predicament and trusted me to show up and held the bike until we could meet. We closed on the bike, and I got a great deal despite the limited inventory situation!! They went over the bike thoroughly before loading it in my truck! Thanks again Salinas Motorcycle Center, keep up the great work!! I highly recommend this shop! Randy read more

Buyer beware of this place!!! Had an issue with a new motorcycle regrettably purchased from this so called business. If you are in the market for a motorcycle I highly recommend you shop elsewhere and if are curious ( and have time to waste) as to why this place has such a poor rating give them a try AFTER getting a quote from other dealers within 30 miles . It only gets worse in the event you have any issues with your motorcycle. They just flat refused to return calls knowing full well we would like service AFTER the sale. This place is absolutely deplorable when it comes to customer service and fair prices. read more

I have called this business for parts in the past. Either the lead time was too long, they couldn't get the parts or they were priced much higher than any competitors. I asked about a tire repair today if they can patch a flat rear tire. The manager recognized my name and number from previous inquiries. He said if I'm not buying from them to not call for anything. What kind of attitude is that for a business. I will never do business with this establishment if this is the caliber of the management staff. read more

Better purchasing any where but here! We were looking to purchase a side by side. Got approved for their financing but refused to give us an " out the door" price over the phone prior to making the 3 hour drive. Staff were VERY rude - stating they are just too busy to run through numbers. Poor customer service to say the least. They required us to come in person. Glad we came on yelp to look at reviews first. There's a reason they require in person appointments - to filter in huge hidden fees! read more

Don't trust these guys!!!!! Located my dream Polaris ( from the manufacture's website ) and filled out requested info to order. Ben ( from Salinas Motorcycle Center ) contacted me and confirmed my sales appointment. I asked him for an out-the-door price,, he said he was too busy and the pricing was on the website? I asked again, and his reply was,,, it's very transparent- like buying a car? I drove 5 hours ( 1 way from LA ) to purchase this vehicle. Greeted by Tyler, we went over all the particulars and proceeded to purchasing. Tyler starts going over invoice, and to my surprise-- tries to slip in a $4,500 dollar ADITTIONAL Dealer Mark up! Really!!! After I flipped out,, I showed him pricing printed of their website. I said, Ben said it was transparent? All on website? Where is it stated, there could/might be additional dealer mark up beyond standard fees and taxes????? His reply,,that's what we do? Un-acceptable,,, I said I was leaving and he could keep his Polaris!!! He makes a phone call,,,and comes back to me with a $500 Additional Mark Up??? After a day of lost wages,10 hour drive--round trip, almost 3 hours of negotiation ( which they said, should only take an hour ) I gave in to his extortion! SHAME on this dealership! How can they treat customers this way and stay in business? Deceptive practices, price gouging and dishonesty. If I lived closer, I would have walked away--but I had already invested too much time and money. BUYERS BEWARE, get a firm price ( in writing ) before you go! read more

This place is a joke! They lost the tags for my scooter and lied to me about sending them in the mail. Called 3 times, was hung up on 3 time and I was being very professional. This business has by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Very unprofessional, evasive, uses misleading information and trickery. Benjamin could not answer. Any questions actually hung up on me and yet I still decided to drive up with a trailer and cash in hand to purchase a CF Moto. Upon my arrival, another gentleman by the name of Tyler was helpful, but could not do anything without Benjamin's approval. Benjamin never came out from where he was hiding. I proceeded to say there was a dealer markup on it and someone was coming to pick it up tomorrow with approved financing. I reminded them that I had cash, and yet still, they would not sell the CF Moto to me. Their loss I've purchased it at another dealership.
