Manny and Victor are artisans who care deeply about their craft. Despite a casual vibe and ramshackle office, they run a well-organized shop, including seamless, quick engagement with insurance. They have deep integrity, I trust them fundamentally. And they're incredibly nice, too. Even better, they're patient, and I'm curious and thorough in a way that sometimes tests people's patience. Westin fixed the side panel at no cost and gave me very honest advice about the hood. He did not try to sell me on a very expensive job and instead asked me to consider the possibility that the paint may have issues on other parts of the body, even finding some areas of future concern that I had not seen. I had what should have been a straightforward repair after a deer hit my front fender. Based on a…read morerecommendation, I brought my truck to Gene's. The job involved replacing the fender, side mirror, and polishing the driver's side window. I was initially told it would take about a week. After 7-8 days, I called and was told it would be another day, which was fine. I picked up the truck after getting the call that it was ready, but I was in a rush and it was parked in the shade, so I didn't catch everything right away. Almost immediately after leaving, I noticed the window hadn't been polished as discussed, and the replacement side mirror was loose and bounced while driving--unlike the original OEM mirror. The next day, more issues became obvious. The headlight didn't fit properly against the new fender (there was a large gap), and the "Tacoma" badge was missing. I contacted them, and to their credit, they agreed to fix the issues. However, that meant another appointment, several more days without my truck, and another rental. When I got it back again, it looked better--but this is work that should have been done correctly the first time. Afterward, I noticed the paint blending was poorly done and doesn't match well at all in sunlight. At that point, I chose not to go back again, but it pisses me off every time I see it. To top it off, when I later replaced my headlights, I discovered a mounting screw was never reinstalled on the driver's side. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience with multiple oversights, extra time and inconvenience, and workmanship that didn't meet expectations. I can't recommend this shop. Really bummed, as this place has good reviews. I must have gotten a beginner working on my truck :( Just a shoddy job.
