The 10 minute massage and masks they apply during your pedi is a great detail that most of us will appreciate. I wish they had a similar approach to the mani for those of us who spend a lot of time on the computer at work. I appreciate their respectful approach and accommodating customer service. Make sure you bring cash, you can't tip on the credit cards. Some techs know what they are doing, and others are still learning; but you can't go wrong coming here!

They basically offer every type of nail service available and I being a simple dude , I just wanted my nails to be neat , clean and respectable in public. 4.5 stars on my yelp meter and I would recommend eve's nail salon in Astoria totally .

Meh. That's the best…read moreway to describe Grace NY Nails. I try to avoid this place, but sometimes when I'm desperate (e.g., need to get my gel manicure off) or in a rush, I go here because it's close to me. They have a deal for mani-pedis between Monday-Thursday for $25. With tax, it's about $26.50. There's a $10 minimum on card and tips are cash only. Pedicure: The technician who worked on me was nice, but the paint job was mediocre. Despite drying for over 30 minutes, my toe nail and pinky nail got severely messed up after they saran-wrapped it. As in, half of the polish was gone and looked pretty bad. A+ for the strong massage though. Manicure: Within 6 hours, my manicure was also chipping. Similarly, the coats were too heavy. Now my pain point here is that my technician would go under my nails to clean them with a stick and would go tooooooo deep to the point that my thumb was in pain for 2 days. The slightest touch would hurt. Service: Overall, the ladies are nice. They will try to up-sell you, but that's pretty normal nowadays. Annoying, yes, but business. I went back the next day to have my pedicure fixed (I'm going on a beach trip and that's the whole reason why I went in!) and the lady was nice enough to fix it and even offer to fix my other nails as well. I declined that part as I was short on time and don't have high hopes for it lasting. TL;DR: If you're in a time crunch, sure. If you just need to have your gel manicure, sure. Massage? Yeah, maybe. If you want a quality mani-pedi and have time, go elsewhere. (I personally love Bamboo 35 Nails)

I came in last minute for a Brazilian wax because my usual place had closed, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience was very disappointing. I'm 7 months pregnant and explained that I can't easily see or trim the area myself, but the technician repeatedly made comments about how long the hair was and how she'd "never seen it like this," and she's "never taken so long on a brazilian," which made me feel judged and uncomfortable. The wax took about an hour, which is much longer than any Brazilian I've had before. Even with that time, the service wasn't fully completed -- she said she couldn't remove some of the inner hairs and initially skipped the backside until I insisted her to do it. I did appreciate that she did a nice job threading my eyebrows, which is why I'm giving two stars, but overall the waxing service was not a good experience. I didn't feel comfortable during the appointment and wouldn't return for waxing services again.

I've been a loyal customer of this salon for a long time, but after what happened today, I'm…read moreofficially done. And honestly, I should have stopped coming sooner. Yesterday, I walked in without an appointment and was told they were busy. Fine. I understood. I then asked to make an appointment for today at 5:30 PM specifically with Erika. Mery, the owner, took my name and phone number and confirmed the appointment. I showed up today at 5:20 PM, TEN MINUTES EARLY, ready to wait for my appointment. Then Mery comes over and tells me she supposedly called and texted me earlier to tell me they were too busy. WHAT A JOKE. I received NO call. NO text. NOTHING. I told her exactly that: "You didn't call me or text me. Don't lie to my face." And suddenly, there was nothing to say. No explanation. No proof. Just a quick "sorry," followed by telling me she was busy and walking away. That tells me everything I need to know. If you don't want to honor an appointment, SAY SO. If you're too busy, COMMUNICATE. If you made a mistake, OWN IT. But don't tell a customer you contacted them when you didn't and then walk away when you're called out. After being a loyal customer, I deserved at least the basic courtesy of being told the truth. Instead, my time was completely disrespected, my appointment was not honored, and I was treated as if I was an inconvenience. The worst part wasn't even that they were busy. The worst part was the dishonesty and the complete lack of professionalism afterward. Mery, you're the OWNER. You're supposed to set the standard for how customers are treated. If this is how you handle a loyal customer, that's all I need to know. You lost a customer today--not because you were busy, but because of the way you handled it. There are plenty of nail salons where I can spend my money without having to argue about whether someone actually called or texted me. Never again. My time, my money, and my business will be going somewhere else. GOODBYE.

For me, Reina makes me feel at ease, comfortable or "at home". Every time I walk into the store, at least one or two techs will say hello and asks you what would you like done. Carol, the owner, seems very attentive, delightful to work with and treats the staff respectfully. The times I was here when it wasn't busy, someone is always cleaning or wiping down. When they're busy taking one customer after another, I've seen them sanitize their tools in between. I do agree with some of the comments that it is a hit or miss. I usually do walk-ins when i come here thinking maybe I could try it out with another tech to at least broaden my options/ compare their works and see who's work i like best. In all fairness, I only have had the chance to work with 3 of their techs - Amy, Lisa and another one we won't name because that's the miss. So now I've learned to call in advance and ask for either of the 2 ladies I've mentioned. Overall: Ambiance - serene, calm, "light" Store - clean, a little tight Sanitation - hygienic Customer service - good Pricing - reasonable Wait time - varies Staff - pleasant
