Previously I would inevitably tie my hair up by the end of the day but I prefer to leave it down with this cut. I look like a celebrity, from the back of the head anyway! Oh, and the salon is beautiful & owned by two women who gut renovated the space themselves.

I followed both of them from their previous salons and have been a loyal customer now for over 3 years (wow that went fast). From short hair to long hair Pooja has never failed to make me feel like I look my absolute best when leaving. Beyond this, the cut and style is so great it requires zero product and very little maintenance to keep it looking chic. Christie did a balayage for me at the beginning of last summer (photo 1, please note I wanted it very natural). Not only was the original coloring exactly what I wanted. It faded so naturally that I didn't need to get a gloss until almost 9 months later (see second image) Beyond their talent, they are wonderful, kind, hardworking women, that I am proud to have gotten to know as people over these years. If you are looking for a new hair stylist in NYC, I promise you won't be disappointed here.

My daughter has an upcoming sweet sixteen party today and I sent her to get knotless box braids…read morebased on the Yelp reviews. I am convinced that Mateya took advantage of my daughter given that she was 16. Because there is no way if I had accompanied her to the appointment that she could have left with her hair like that with a whopping charge of $185. I will pay any price to have my daughter's hair done as long as the person does a good job and this was horrible. She claims she used two packs of braids. Seems like she used only one. The braids are thin at the beginning and at the end looks like strings. There are some very thin tiny ones in the back. My daughter has a thick head of hair and these make her look like her hair is extremely thin. I am completely and utterly disappointed. My daughter this morning wants the braids out of her hair which we are going to take out.

Not only did she change my booking and charge my card in full (including tip) for the wrong service…read morehours before my appointment at the salon, she was also incredibly uncommunicative. I had to go out of town last minute and made multiple attempts to reach her--I called, DMed, and messaged her on StyleSeat to do my due diligence and reschedule or cancel. I was ignored on all platforms until hours later, when she finally responded with, "You have to cancel on StyleSeat, and I have to charge you a cancellation fee." Mind you, I couldn't cancel on StyleSeat because she had already charged my card in advance for a service I didn't book. Then, to top it off, she charged me again--half the cost--for that same incorrect service.

I had a terrible color, from a really bad hairdresser, that was super brassy that I've been growing out for the past few months and Paulina totally transformed my hair with her Balayage magic! Totally worth it and she is extremely precise, listens to her clients and goes above and beyond to give you a quality cut and color with the latest products. Can't wait to go back in for my touch up as I transition my black South Asian hair to blonde, which btw is extremely difficult to do, but I completely trust Paulina with my mane!

I thought they were going to be a lot of maintenance but they fall really nicely and arent too chunky. I will definitely be coming back!
