I met Kalilah at an event and i was talking to her about my hair and how i was struggling to find a natural hair salon that can handle very coarse 4C hair. She assured me that she had girls in the shop who could handle my texture. She was right. She pointed me in Emmas direction. ( forgive me if i spell her name wrong, it drives me nuts when people dont spell my name right) I love the products that were used on my hair. My hair feels so light and airy. It even has a little bounce to it. Im amazed!! Not to mention, my hair smells divine. As you can see in the picture, my hair had a lot of split ends. She cut all that out. I am really pleased with my cut and the silk press. To be honest, i didnt know my hair could get that straight. Y'all don't understand, my hair is very African and loves water but thats it so i was nervous about this. I think conversation's with Emma made me feel better and instilled a little more confidence in me. The ladies in the shop as so lovely. I didn't feel rushed. They really took their time with me and i appreciate that. I hate rushed work. Khalila and Emma were sweet and i recommend them to anyone who needs some TLC for their natural hair. Khalila is very attentive and makes sure she follows up after the appointment. The whole experience was great and I'll definitely be back.

I was contacted via text and informed of a slight time change but it wasn't anything inconvenient. (Well appreciated). I arrived with my son hair prewashed and dried. The women there were all warm and welcoming(not mean mugging as if they hate their choice in life) That was so refreshing. His hair took a total of 1.5 hours I believe to complete as I was doing laundry not to far away. When I returned I was so please with the results. He was as well. I will definitely be keeping this establishment as his monthly hair maintenance regimen (I'm sooooooo over doing his hair myself) 1.5 months later and his braids still look great even with the fuzz... Thanks again for such excellent service

Beyond this, the cut and style is so great it requires zero product and very little maintenance to keep it looking chic. Christie did a balayage for me at the beginning of last summer (photo 1, please note I wanted it very natural). Not only was the original coloring exactly what I wanted. AVOID! I'm new to the area so decided to try out Face & Hair by Lorraine with a Groupon voucher,…read morewhich included a cut, blow dry and single process color. I could tell from the moment I spoke to the person on the phone to book my appointment, that this was bad news. The person sounded like it was a huge hassle to take down my details and was not accommodating with the times I wanted so I agreed to show up earlier than I wanted. On the day of the appointment, just as I was about to leave the house, I got a call to tell me to come later. When I got there, the salon was cluttered and messy. I didn't feel welcomed at all. My single process color was the worst salon color I've ever had. They used super cheap hair dye that looked like even cheaper boot polish. After half an hour when they checked the progress, they found that it hadn't done the job at all, so they reapplied more and I sat there for another half hour. It came out within a single wash and left my roots a dirty gold color afterwards. They then tried to accuse me of not telling them that my hair was so stubborn, and that I told them the wrong shade to use (even though I've been getting my hair dyed for more than 15 years with the same color!) When it came time to get the cut, I was so upset that I said to just give it a trim and leave the style. The hairdresser decided to ignore me and proceeded to thin out bits and cut into the sides to frame my face (a subsequent hairdresser I went to said they had done a hack job!). The one half decent part of the service was the blow dry, which was quick, smooth and professional (though I had asked for it to be blown straight and they decided to curl it anyway). All in all, worst hair experience ever - I would not recommend this place to anyone!

The first thing that caught my eye was the signage for some of the services that they provide. Prices seemed reasonable for what piqued my interest. Although it was closed I decided to take down the info. I'm always looking for a few hair/nail salons within my neighborhood. I've had many styles in my day from natural, braids, extensions, French roll, to a bun with bangs -- so it's safe to say I'm well versed when it comes to hair. I recently made an impulsive decision by cutting my hair short and dyeing it red. After three weeks I was over my cut and wanted my longer hair back. I came in as a walk-in and approached two people before I was directed to Gloria. We exchanged pleasantries and I explained to her what I wanted. It was about an hour wait because she just finished braiding up a lady. I guess we both were in cahoots because she wanted extensions as well. Gloria is no joke! She was kind, but not so gentle. Disclosure: I'm tender headed and sensitive. I told her it was too tight maybe three times throughout the ordeal. Braiding my hair is always a killer I think that's probably why my Mommy gave me my first perm at a young tender age. I thought I was in Harlem at an African salon getting micro braids. She asked me if it was too tight to let her know. Overall I'm over the moon pleased with the outcome. The salon is quaint and needs renovation. There's only two washing basins and four dryers. The bathroom is small. It's hard to wipe and not bang into anything. P.S. Human Hair Extensions are $100. Disregard the sign that says weaves are $79.99 unless you're using synthetic extensions.
