Somehow, Alex managed to charge me like I was getting VIP treatment from Edward Scissorhands himself, but I got the Dollar Store version who's apparently blindfolded and fueled with anger. Alexandra has been taking care of my hair since 2017, and I haven't let any other hairdresser touch my hair ever since. She saw my hair through it all, short to long, dark to color. She's educated me a lot, and introduced me to products that goes with my long processed hair - OLAPLEX IS THE BEST! WOOT HOO! I have a lot of hair and I dye it occasionally, so the ends would get damaged and tangled up.. With cutting, she'll listen carefully and try to do her best to keep the length that you want while keeping the hair healthy looking. At other salons, they would just chop more than 3 inches off my hair - not cool for this girl who's trying to grow out her hair again. With coloring, she's very patient with me. It takes around 4-5 hours to color my whole head every single time. But time goes by fast because our conversations are always great lol. I always get compliments on my hair color. I've sent my friends to her and they all had a great experience with Alexandra! If she advises you on something with your hair.. Trust me, listen to her. She only wants the best for your hair. I've been stubborn, and I would admit to her later on: "You're right, the balayage looks a lot better when you curl it!" or "Yeah, I should have let you cut off that one extra inch because my hair grows back so fast and now they're heavy & all tangled up again" I also love her boutique salon! It's very clean and well kept. It feels like a private appointment every single time. You do get a lot for your money going to her! This review is a long time in coming. I've been seeing Alexandra for just over 7 months and couldn't be happier with my decision to switch to this stylist who came recommended to me by two other girlfriends who have loved her results. A little about why I have continued to return and plan to stick with her- 1) without question, she has shown amazing skill with my hair and has been able to set me up with a long term plan that would address my issues. 7 months in and I can attest that the plan is working! 2)Alexandra was willing to work with me not just with my hair concerns but took my budget into account. She worked with me on a plan over several months that would help me to organize how I was going to plan for highlights versus partial highlights and when it was necessary to need additional services rather than selling me an entire package that was continually over extending my finances. Not only did this help my pocketbook but it helped my hair as she explained to me that the expensive processes I was doing to my hair was not only damaging it but it was in my case stopping me from achieving the look I was going for. My hair never looked better and then length I was trying for years to accomplish is now FINALLY showing up. In short, she listens to my needs and whats realistic for my budget. All my previous hair dressers continued to push for all over highlights and hair cuts every 6 weeks despite that my hair grows at a snails pace and I had no hope to grow it out long with all the damage from the unnecessary processing. My hair is now healthier, LONGER, and I have been able to invest the money I've saved in healthy hair products to protect and sustain my hair going forward. I give her 5 stars for the over all health and look of my hair, for all the times she has been willing to accommodate my schedule, and because she didn't try to milk my entire budget but actually told me what my hair needed and what it didn't. The search for finding the perfect hairdresser has been a long and awkward journey for me. But finally I can say that I have found the best hair dresser! Hallelujah! I came to Alexandra with a major need for a color correction. I had my hair done by a different stylist who when I asked to go dark brown made my hair ink black. Also my roots were a totally different color and overall I was a mess (that I tried to fix with box dye...So add that to the mixture). I met Alexandra at her studio and was immediately impressed with how she decorated the space. I liked that we discussed my hair goals and she described how she was going to achieve them to me so that I felt included in the process. I have a lot of hair and a lot of damage done so the process took a while. But Alexandra never rushed and really took the time to get every detail and step right. She had a great playlist and was also just an overall wonderful person to talk to. At the end of my session I looked in the mirror and couldn't even believe the work she did! This past weekend was my best friends wedding and I was part of the wedding party. I had asked Alex to do my makeup for the big day since it was a special occasion and I wanted to look my best. Alex arrived promptly at 7:30 in the morning as planned and started with my make up first before working on the bride. I was extremely pleased with the end results. She listened to me and look I was going for and I had shown her pictures as well and her execution was top notch. I was taken back by how different I looked. She used brown and gold shimmery colors around my eyes and did the best smokey eye/cut crease look that I've ever seen on me.
