I called in advance to get pricing because I knew what I wanted was more than the "quick weave" price. The person that answered the phone was pleasant and answered all of my questions. I asked for Tika due to all of the pleasant reviews and I'm very skeptic about who's in my hair. When I reached the location I was helped immediately. I had to wait for Tika to come in which wasn't an issue(I knew she wasn't there yet when I was on my way). She started my hair and I never seen someone work so quickly and efficiently. She doesn't braid tight (and I'm very tender headed). She never stuck me once with a needle or anything. She made you feel comfortable by answering any questions you had. I will definitely be back. Also recommendation for the other two stylists that were there...I believe their names were Margaret and Diamond. Everyone's hair that they touched left looking beautiful as well. I was greeted by the lovely, sweet/friendly Margaret who answered all my questions and took her time/ worked amazing miracles on my hair/recommending to leave it curly for the most natural look I've ever had. I live in the neighborhood and had been watching salon debating on whether or not I'd give them a try since the sign went up late summer. They finally opened on January 1, 2015. I wary in to size the spot up and made an inquiry on 1/5. The owner Margaret was very nice and welcoming. She answered all of my questions and acknowledged my skepticism however, assured me that I wouldn't be disappointed if I gave them a shot. On 1/6/2015, I went ahead and gave them a try considering the fact that the times I passed by the shop I saw customers in the chairs with pretty good work being done. Margaret was just as nice as she'd been the day before as well as the owner Eli who offered me a beverage as I waited. Now I'm no weavenistasince I stopped consistently weaving years ago however I do dabble every now and again to protective style my natural hair. My opinion, go with your hair washed and ready to go however, she did a pretty good job washing, conditioning and blowing my natural hair (with my own natural hair products) for an additional $9.95. I like big hair so I needed to use 3 bundles of hair, (I ordered over 2 years ago but stashed away). The 3rd bundle made the base price of $49.99 increase by just another $9.95. Taxes are not included so in total I paid under $80 not including the generous tip I left. I felt like she knew what she was doing and didn't feel like it was rush amateur job. When I finally got a look at the finished product I was completely satisfied! The only downside for me, the combination of the braids and sew-in were a bit tight. I give them 3 stars because I'm waiting until I take it out to ensure that it held up over time with minimal breakage. I totally recommend giving them a go, and for $50, why not! read more

I pass this place on the bus and was excited about getting my first weave. I needed a change and felt like a weave would do the trick. Upon entering I saw two bored looking women who directed me to the counter, as I explained this was my first time the bored woman asked the other woman if she wanted to do my hair but there was no reply. I was told the price and decided I would go to a ATM to get extra money just in case. The lady didnt seem to care whether I returned or not but having left early for work and determined to get my hair done I was stone set in my decision. Upon returning I was told to go sit in a chair in which I patiently waited. I was stunned at how empty it was and how much the place lacked any type of atmosphere aside from a woman who was installing a purple weave into another woman's hair silently. I was also stunned at how damn hot it was in there! I sat uncomfortably warm and unwelcome as I tried to read a book I had brought as they were "gracious" enough to have some horribly boring show the tv on that no one appeared to be actually watching. The other two women who I had first seen upon entering I guess had decided they weren't going to help a sister out because I sat for over 20 minutes as they stood around doing nothing.Purple hair girl gone the unfriendly stylist didn't greet me or introduce herself, just pointed to her chair. Her and some other woman mentioned that they werent sure I had enough packs of hair but they didnt seem worried so I figured it wasnt an issue. Mean looking stylist starts attacking my hair as she swiftly starts braiding. She adds some fake hair to my hair as she cornrows and I start hearing rips like Velcro as she rakes her fingers through my hair strands trying to braid in hyper speed. I say a farawell prayer to my hair, hoping that it is the fake hair she is ripping, Stupidly stubborn I am resolute in my decision to get this over and done with. Finally she starts to crochet braid and I try to relax. She only seems friendly when she asks me what type of hair I had bought as she seems impressed with it. Hours go by and it is getting quite late to her credit the syylist takes no breaks and is on her feet for 3 hours and this is taking me on right after another client. I had not realized it would take so long. She again mentions that I may not have enough hair. I am thinking this is a ploy to charge me more because for each extra pack I think past 4 or 5 is extra and I had brought 7 packs of Senegalese twists. I get more and more upset as I see the time go by and my head feels quite heavy. She gets near the end and again tells me she thinks I needed more packs; she is now trying to disguise the back of my hair from looking like I needed an extra pack. When she finishes I quickly pay thank her and almost run out of the shop in tears. I did NOT like it. I felt like I looked like an African hair braiding shop poster ad which is not the look I desired. I was so embarrassed I walked home in the cover of night, true story. The next day I went to work and consulted with my coworker who frequently gets crochet weaves in She said she thinks the stylist did the best she could and that it didn't look bad; because I had thin Senegalese twists she had to use more packs. Ok, fine. Most people did compliment me on my new look however it it took weeks to grow on me. I also had to always be aware of the back as you could kind of tell that the stylist had run out of hair or see through the braids. I think that should have been addressed properly as soon as they thought I didn't have enough. What if I had been a pack short? Would they have let me leave the shop with a section missing? To the credit of the store/stylist I never lost one twist from my head; she had expertly crocheted them in very well. I did, lose a tremendous amount of hair however I don't blame the salon for this, I left the braids in too long but I also believe the application of the weave didn't help. I ended up cutting my hair once I took the twists out. This place could stand to have a lesson in customer service and more care and attention to a client's hair. This review is a tad late but better late than never right?! I went to the salon the Sunday night before Labor Day and I guess many other females had the same idea that the salon wasn't going to be packed but it was. It's first come first serve and I arrived at 6pm with 3 other customers in front of me. The manager Z and the stylist either Precious or Princess I can't remember worked tireless through the night to bang out all of us. Everyone left looking cute and ready to show out for the holiday. I was in and out in 3 hours because I needed my hair washed and dried but from observation if you come ready to be braided then you can be done in less than 2 hours. The best part about this salon is the in your face straight forward pricing. Eli who I believe is a manager as well fills out a checklist style ticket with all the services you need so you know exactly how much you will be paying before anyone even touches your head! They take time in creating their craft and most importantly do it in an orderly fashion. For weaves you start off by sitting in the braiders chair, and getting it braided then sewn in. Then the head stylist will cut style and shape your hair. They hold a recipet with the services you will be getting next to you while in the chair and after your hair is done you take your reciept to the front and pay (I Apriciate this because i have been to countless salons where they just make up a expensive price for how much they need for the day). But so Far Quick Weaves 49.95 is good in my book. I will be returning each month to freshen up my looks. I got a weave ponytail done here and instead of black gel the stylist Diamon[very sweet] told me she uses gorilla snot glue,she explained to me that it last longer than black gel. I should have done my research before I allowed her to put the gorilla snot glue in my hair because two days into getting my hair done my scalp was so dry and the gorilla snot glue[gel] was now showing up as yellow flakes on my hair. So imagine black hair with yellow flakes and not small one but all over your head. After I did research I found out that gorilla snot is only to be used no longer than 24 hours because it is very drying to the hair with the product containing a large amount of alcohol smh. My hair style was suppose to last me two weeks and I literally had to take it out in two days. Waste of money, so please don't let anyone put gorilla snot glue[gel] in your hair. read more

I'm just going to say what everyone else doesn't want to stay. The salon is extremely ghetto. Upon my first visit as soon as I stepped in the salon, I got so many dirty looks for absolutely no reason, that's when I knew I was back in the hood. The stylist did an ok job for my kind of hair which is very thin and fine (although the style didn't last that long before the tracks came loose) but the behavior that ensued while I was in that salon was awful. The shop reeked of marijuana and one of the girls there was shamelessly passing gas saying that she was not going to hold her gas in for "no gyal", I guess meaning myself. I'm an introvert with strong adversity towards certain classes of people so at that point I just stayed quiet and said little things here and there to the girl that was doing my hair. I came back to get my hair done once more mainly due to the price, but I had to brace myself for the unexpected behaviors (not as bad as the first, but still moments where I felt pretty uncomfortable with the plain old inappropriate dialogue in the shop). It was an epic mistake. The woman did a mediocre job when she wasn't digging the needle into my scalp. She QUADRUPLED the tracks in the front of my hair (when I specifically asked for singles) which made the tracks goofy and pretty obvious looking against my fine hair, so essentially, she screwed my head up. The tracks and net loosened after 3 days so now I'm forced to remove this mess and I'm strongly considering disputing this fee with my bank for time and money wasted. I won't be returning here, it just goes back to the old adage that you get what you pay for. I would rather pay triple the price for hair done well, professionalism and respect. Plus, aside from the West Indian restaurants, there is no reason why I should be lurking around in Flatbush. Not the neighborhood for me. Just sayin. read more

Im honesty not sure if I'd return here. None of the stylists you see in the pictures here on yelp were in the salon and these ladies look nice,mannerly and professional. Im not sure if they work here but none of them was there when i went to do my hair . The owner is the only reason im giving this place 2 stars and if i do return I'll make sure she does my hair. Ok, so the girl who did my hair was unbelievably unprofessional. Shes the first chair behind the entrance door. Her demeanor seemed as if she was working there against her will. I noticed this establishment by its vivid colors one day while driving . I took down the name and began my research. I couldn't believe the price. $49.95 for a weave is just unheard of. I searched the internet to know more , The reviews were mixed so I took my chances . I visited the branch on Flatbush Ave. The stylist that attended to me , her name is Diamond. Can I just say that she does her name justice. She is a diamond! Extremely pleasant, warm and knowledgeable. I couldn't believe the height of professionalism, truly exceptional! I was most impressed with the atmosphere of the establishment. High end professionalism. No inappropriate talk , music, or tv show. In fact we all enjoyed a comedy that was being played on all 3 tv screens for the customer's connivence. There was no idle chatter , no wasting time . I was done with my hair within 3 hours all while she took care of another client who got a color from black hair to platinum blonde. (Just imagine) When my hair was being braided was the best part! Her hands are extremely light and the braiding is not overbearing! Diamond is so dope! I can't believe I found her! I got a weave with a side part , hair romance curl. This is my second time coming here and every time they SLAYED! The first person that did my hair was a lady named Camille back around New Years Dec 27th.-29th She was soo nice and kind. I was nervous at first because I never had a middle part before but sure enough my worries were GONE! The way Camille slayed my hair was magnificent! Especially for 50 dollars of course I was going back. Second Time i got a little bolder I wanted to dye my hair and it came out BEAUTIFUL Margaret did my hair. I just got my hair done by Princess, and when I tell you my hair looks bomb, I mean it. I was EXTREMELY skeptical about getting my hair done based on the price and the mixed reviews, however, upon entering the shop I was completely put at ease as everyone was welcoming and very nice. Princess immediately got started on my hair and took great care of my natural hair. Her braiding was very neat and not too tight, as she made sure to ask if they were comfortable. She also oiled my scalp after braiding it which really helped keep my scalp from itching. Now on to the weaving. What I really like is that she doesn't cut your tracks so that helps reduce shedding, and allows you to reuse the hair. Despite not cutting the tracks, my sew in looks like it's growing from my scalp. She took her time blending my leave out and laid my edges for the gawds! I was out of there in 2 hrs & got exactly what I asked for. I paid $104 and I brought my own bundles. PLZ NOTE: they charge for extra services; I paid an extra $10 for the wave mesh. I came in early this morning (right when they opened) with the hopes of being the first client of the day and getting in and out. I got there first and only had to wait a few for the lady who would end up "doing my hair" (aka making me look like a clown). She was running a little late but I didn't care because hey, I'm always running behind. Plus she had some purple in her hair (my favorite color) so I figured everything would be okay. Wrong. I had relaxed the portion of my hair I wanted left out on top and pre-parted with a side part so there would be no confusion. Even though I showed her the part and told her that is where I wanted it, the hairdresser gave me a middle part. It may seem trivial but because of the shape of my head and size of my forehead, middle parts are very unflattering on me. Complicating the unfortunate part, it was centered only halfway back then made a dramatic 30 degree turn. It appeared that she hadn't left a sufficient amount of hair out on one side and had to accommodate with some sort of made up zodiac sign. She had asked if she could cut the tracks on top instead of sowing it continuously which didn't seem like a huge deal at the time except that she cut the entire second bundle into individual pieces (instead of just a few top ones like I'm accustomed to). The amount she cut and the way she cut caused large parts of the hair to be cut off the track. When she turned me around to reveal my hair, I was horrified. The bizarre part, the lack of blending, the shorn hair....I literally looked like my name was Bozo. I went to the front and let the girl know that I was very unhappy. She could tell on my face (and could see the foolishness for herself) and offered to fix it. She brought purple haired lady over and explained what was wrong. The lady alleged that she parted it where I had the part and an argument ensued. The lady from the front just asked me to purple haired lady fix it. The hair had to be partially taken out because the 30 degree part didn't allow any wiggle room. Purple hair lady starts taking out the tracks to fix what she's done while STILL arguing with/belittling me about how she's never had to take someone's hair down and she that followed what I had shown her. This goes on and on and I mostly ignored it. Then she apologized and said she now sees what I was saying and she's going to make my hair look nice. My faith was restored. She was showing me the look in the mirror as she went along and I was actually pleased with how things were progressing. Obviously I trust too easy because it quickly went downhill again . I see that she is again cutting the tracks more and more and as I'm running my hands through the new bundles I had just purchased, more and more hair is coming out. As I've used this company's hair before, I know it doesn't shed like that. Plus thread that she hadn't taken off the tracks when she cut them out is still there and needing to be picked out. As she nears the end, she tells me that she is going to cut some hair out of the back to put in the front because "you need hair when you do a side part." Ummmm no...that's not a thing. Then another lecture starts about how my hair is going to be bumpy if she can't take hair from the back, how the hair coming out is because I made her re-do it, how the hair on top is bumpy because of me, etc. etc. There were so many more unprofessional things that were said but this story is already long. On top of everything, my tracks are exposed and she didn't even attempt to match my leave out to the wavy pattern of the hair I used. So after 5 hours, I left feeling horrible about how I looked and how I was treated. Picking thread out of my hair and looking for a new stylist is how I've spent my time since I left. I have had several good experiences here which is the only reason it's getting 2 stars (and because the lady at the front today was very kind and professional to me). But the good prices and convenient location aren't worth the hassle of the money wasted on good hair, the unhappiness of feeling like you look worse than when you came in, or the aggravation of having to pay someone who can't keep their foolishness to themselves. read more

The first time I came to this salon I spend the whole day there. I came in at 1pm and left at 9pm. I called before I came and the manager told me they had a full staff that does hair. When I got there that was not the case. Only two stylists and I had to wait hours to get one to do my hair. I had the worst experience of going to a new salon. I'm still not sure why I even came back today but once again I called Eli told me there would be someone to do my hair but that was a lie because it's only two stylish. The stylists already have people in their chairs. I was told that one stylist is leaving for the day so I decided to go home. I will not be returning to this salon. read more

Amazing people, Diamond looked after me so well my weave was the best I have ever had, this is my new go to place priced reasonably and well worth every dollar, I brought my baby with me and I felt so comfortable I didn't feel like an inconvenience to the place.
