I'm so glad [salon]718 is on Fulton Street now! I was in great need of a scalp treatment and color refresh. Esmeralda and Laura were so accommodating! Esmeralda gave me an amazing scalp treatment and massage... it was a whole TEN minutes and I definitely fell asleep. For my color Laura recommended a copper pigment which brought back vibrancy and shine. I have a lot of hair (down to my waist almost!) and needed to get out of the salon quickly so they both worked together to blow dry me at the same time. I was able to have a scalp treatment, color, and blowout in just over one hour. I feel and look amazing! read more

My last experience was not what I would wish for anyone. The appoint setter person that called me back dropped a very discriminating policy. The conversation went south even further with this person SNAPPING at me that I needed to choose the service option. I was given two choices that were technical jargon. I said let Amani manage this as I trust her. This person tells me "IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT! I need to know which one so I can book it out correctly". I made my selection and I was awarded with an appointment which was confirmed via an email. The call didn't sit well with me and I thoroughly thought about this and came to the decision that I should cancel. As much as i love Amani, my hair professional I didn't agree with the policy and professionalism of the salon. So I wrote a transparent and direct email that was not replied to. My appointment was canceled and I am moving on but I believe that the Yelpers that this place discriminates and are highly disrespectful. If you want to go to a collaborative salon this isn't a place I would suggest. RUN! read more

I have been here several times before but I will never go back to this salon because they're completely unaccommodating to their repeat business. I recently moved much further away than where I had previously lived (Bushwick to Seagate) but wanted to continue working with the salon because I love davines products & they're closer than Manhattan. I checked the GPS and it said it would be 30 minutes, (I left 15 mins early). However, once I hit the road, the traffic started getting heavier so I called to let them know that I was going to be a little late as a courtesy & they told me they could no longer take me because there was someone booked after me. Not only was I already en route to the salon, but the real kicker is that I am BLONDE and my hair takes 3 hrs on average when I go for highlight & a cut. they close at 6, so how was it ever possible to book someone after me in the first place? I think it's incredibly rude that after working with them multiple times (& tipping 20% or more each time), that they refused to take me because of something that was entirely out of my control. And frankly, it's the product that's impressive. There are other Davines concept salons with far more talent, for the money that it costs, I'd recommend using one of them instead. read more

Made an appointment today for an hour after I called. The staff was very nice and polite, and the salon is clean and nicely decorated. Jolene did a great job with my haircut and was pleasant to talk to. The prices are fair/moderate. Only thing is, you can't tip via credit card. You have to use cash or send tips via Venmo. There is a list of all the employee's venmo usernames at the front when you check out. I'm sure I'll be back to this salon. Good work, an efficient but not rushed haircut, and kind employees. I finally had the courage to get my hair done during this pandemic, which I needed since coloring my own hair was a big mistake. I chose to go to Triple Crown Salon which I was recommended to by a friend. I am sure glad I did. I felt my anxiety lift away when I walked in to Triple Crown . This place was so clean. Everyone wore masks, all surfaces were being clean and sanitized constantly. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be working. I had my hair cut, colored , and styled by Jolene. She did an amazing job especially color correcting my hair. She is funny and has a great vibe, easy to talk too and most importantly new exactly what I wanted which was a wash and go. Natasha listened carefully to what I wanted fixed, proposed two different options, and then checked in with me along the way as she fine-tuned the changes. Coming here was a big mistake. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It's not even the salon itself. I went here because a friend recommended Eddie and she got her roots touched up and he did a vibrant fuchsia for her hair which faded into a pastel pink/purple. I was going to bleach my hair for the first time and I was nervous. I heard great things but what ended up happening to my hair was a two time visit where my hair was bleached using a balayage method on half of my head and then an all over bleach. He used volumer 40 on my virgin black asian hair the first time. I don't know why but anyone who knows anything about hair wouldn't use volumer 40. I was left with brown balayage bits on the lower bits of my then waist length hair. Then two weeks later I stupidly decided to go back and get my hair done again. My hair was not grey/silver balayage like I wanted initially and everything was uneven and he had to cut it because of the intense damage. The color was ashy and brassy. He didn't even try to fix it. He seemed like he didn't have the time to fix it nor the urge to try to fix it. I understand that everyone has their own lives but if you're doing a service for someone, especially a service where word of mouth is so powerful, I was very surprised that nothing more was done to fix it. I had an anniversary the next day and he didn't even flinch when he told me that he was busy later that day and he couldn't even curl my hair. I felt so awful and I cried so much over my hair. I got my hair done the second and last time here on June 25th and it was a big mistake to even start here. I got my hair done somewhere else yesterday and it was to fix the mistakes my hair got here. My hair was stretchy in the shower. It was elastic. -_- Tbh I didn't even want to write a review because it hurt too much to even talk about my hair. I got my hair fixed yesterday at another salon that specializes in hair color but all I know is that I'm never coming back here. read more

I've walked past this salon a million times and finally made an appointment because the Yelp reviews looked great and it's in a convenient location for me. I used their website to book a 1pm appointment with Eddie on a Sunday afternoon. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and was greeted by the kind receptionist who asked if I wanted water, tea or coffee. It seemed like Eddie was running behind schedule and he came over to personally apologize and talk about what I wanted. The shampoo and head massage were amazing, Ashley was so friendly and did a great job. Eddie nailed the haircut and the end result was exactly what I wanted. There was a miscommunication at the beginning and he had to go back to trim off a few more inches but he did a wonderful job. I've gotten a ton of compliments on my haircut and will be back again for my next cut. read more

Triple Crown is a nice, calm salon on Fulton St. I initially chose it simply bc there is an easy entrance - my elderly MIL needed a haircut and can't do stairs. Although a 95 yo woman is NOT Triple Crown's youthful demographic, Natasha was happy to cut my mother in law's hair and did a great cut. Triple Crown has subsequently cut my hair and my daughter's hair (using various stylists). I'd recommend them without a second thought. read more

Came for the first time a few days ago and I won't ever be coming back. I had an appointment for a cut/style and single-process dye job. I showed the stylist a photo of what I wanted in terms of my haircut and she barely glanced at it. Didn't ask me any questions. Just kind of got straight to it. Bad sign. First, she dyed my hair, which ultimately turned out fine except for the fact that I left with dye marks all around my forehead. Even I manage not to do that when I dye my own hair... come on. She gets to cutting my hair and parts it in the wrong direction without even asking which way I part it. I had to correct her. Then, she uses thinning shears on my wet hair. I'm no professional (obviously) but I've heard that that's not the best technique to use. All of my past stylists would normally trim my hair wet and then take out the weight after they dried it. This is where I started to feel like I had made a huge mistake. After the cut, she gave ma a horrible blow out. It was worse than it would've looked if I had done it myself. My hair looked like a frizzy helmet. Not at all like the sleek, textured short bob I had showed her. She finished drying, sloppily put some product in my hair and hesitantly goes, "How's that." UM... not good??? Obviously??? I could hear in her voice that she knew it wasn't. I asked her to please run a flat iron through it and she did so. I absolutely hate HATE the shape of this cut and the layers she cut into my hair look nothing like the photo I showed her and look really horrible and unprofessional. Throughout the cut, soo much hair accumulated inside the front and back of my sweater and, at the end, she tried to remove some but she really just did a horrible job of preventing it in the first place, which is what you're meant to do. To top it off, I left to pay and they overcharged me by charging for a long cut, not a short. I had to correct them. All in all, this was a really disappointing experience and now I have to wait months and months to grow out this unflattering cut. It sucks to deal with bad service and a really awful result and still have to pay a ton for it. Obviously, I don't recommend this place... go to Hair + Co. nearby instead. read more

I've gone to some famous (and famously expensive) curly hair salons, but none of them even came close to Triple Crown! I have to be honest - I didn't want to review this place because I loved it so much. I was looking for an appointment on a Wednesday night and was able to get one the very next day! No 2-3 week long waits, a cut under $100 for curly hair (plus a 10% discount as it was my first service!), super nice people, AND the best haircut of my life? I wanted it to stay my little secret... But for all the trouble I've gone through to find a great curly hairdresser for an affordable price, I'm feeling grateful. Natasha, the owner, cut my hair, and was able to see my vision and execute it perfectly. After the cut, she styled my hair with some great smelling curl serum and blow dried it with a diffuser, but I have to say, my locks look just as good when I wash and go - and that's no easy feat! This is definitely my new go to salon. As an added bonus, you can also use Venmo for tips! Super helpful to those of us who never carry cash. read more

Thankfully Natasha and her crew opened up in the lovely Clinton Hill neighborhood last fall and I couldn't be happier. I have a friend who lives around the corner who let me know this salon had opened, I booked a cut and color (now been back 2 or 3 times) and was so pleased! Natasha is a total pro and makes you feel at ease and suggests great ideas too! What makes a stylist great is being able to work with you on trying new things and delivering on that idea. I've been going to Triple Crown for years for my hair and for my daughter's. I have very straight, blah hair and they always make it look amazing with my cut and color! My daughter has curly hair and they always go above and beyond to make sure her hair cut looks great (not easy to do with a 5 year old). My latest visit was awesome (as usual). As someone who has family members that are in the high risk group for Covid, I can't express how much I appreciate the measures the salon has taken to ensure that I (and my stylist) would be safe during my visit. I have been loyally coming here for the last couple of years since they opened even though I've had 2 friends who had HORRIFIC experiences with a haircut and color. I never had any problem. Until I tried to make an appointment online (website said I successfully made appointment) and when I never got text confirmation I called the salon to make sure and they had no record of my appointment. They had zero availability and were unwilling to fit me in. Do not make an online appointment it's useless and doesn't work. I never make yelp reviews but this was just unbelievably frustrating. I was nervous about going back to the salon, now that the restrictions have been lifted, but I was assured that the salon was doing all that it could to insure its clients safety. The salon was very clean and the stations spaced out. I was getting my hair coloured and cut by Natasha. I was told beforehand that they were not blowing drying hair at this time, so I knew I going to leave with damp hair. Natasha was patient and explained the entire colouring process and checked in with me. She and the other stylists were all wearing mask and offered me a mask. They were constantly cleaning and sanitizing their equipment, brushes, combs, scissors, chairs, etc. I felt just as comfortable I as I had before the quarantine. I'm overall disappointed with the service from Triple Crown. I reached out several times via email and in the review following my service, asking about my experience. I shared a negative experience with them and received no communication. I followed up and only heard from the receptionist/stylist in charge of emails. My experience of this salon is that it was extremely over priced for the level of skill I received from my stylist. The energy from staff (except for person at the front desk) was not welcoming and felt off. My stylist was short with me when I discussed what I wanted, cut my hair for what felt like 10 minutes (simply shortened my hair rather than skillfully cutting/styling it), was not personable in any way. At the end of my service I was hesitant to leave with these results, but was uncomfortable expressing that the job felt unfinished. I felt very dismissed overall.
