Absolutely furious. Have been here before for brow and upper lip threading with no issues. One of…read morethe employees insisted that she do both threading and waxing. After the service, I noticed that there were huge chunks of skin ripped out below my eyebrow and at my upper lip. She told me it was normal for waxing and blamed it on my pimple? I've never had this happen before. I also noticed they double dip for the wax. I received no apologies, absolutely nothing. Never coming here again and would never recommend this place to anyone. ** Update: Went back and the manager, Ava, came in to apologize and offered a full refund. I appreciate her sincerity and she took full accountability for her employee's actions. The woman who did my service apologized but continued to make excuses as to why it happened and blamed it on the weather (?). She obviously didn't take accountability, but I didn't want to waste anymore time arguing with her. **

However they insisted on cash or Venmo. I don't carry cash and my phone was dead (so no access to Venmo). HOWEVER they forced me to charge my phone with the salon charger so they can receive tip through Venmo. This was humiliating and not to mention entitled of the salon to assume that they earned a tip. They acted this way even though there were other customers in the salon watching all of this happen. After charging my phone for a min, they admitted that they can accept tip through card. The pedicure itself was fine but I am never going back here for the horrible customer service. Up until this point, the service was great and I was planning on making Kawaii Salon my main spot for manis and pedis. Ended up tipping $10 on $60 pedi.

I was greeted right away, accommodated as a walk-in, and genuinely felt taken care of from start to finish. The salon is cute, spacious, and beautifully decorated with tons of color options. The gentleman at the front even helped start my powder removal while I waited for my technician, which I really appreciated. I also loved the thoughtful touches -- the little silicone stylus so you can use your phone while your nails are soaking, the iPhone stand, and the lotion/scrub treatment at the end because my hands were so dry. My technician was patient, checked in with me throughout, and made sure the color and finish were exactly what I wanted. Two weeks later, my nails are still holding up beautifully, and I especially appreciate that the powder isn't thick -- it looks like my real nails. Even at checkout, the person at the front was kind and helpful, and I appreciated the flexible payment options. The only thing missing is a loyalty program or punch card for return customers -- I'd sign up in a heartbeat!

My first visit I had a guy who did my mani/pedi and also did a quick shoulder massage while drying and I was two minutes away from the getting the full body massage because that little tease of the shoulder was amazing. The second time a young lady did my nails and it was fine with no issues or negative experiences. I usually get my nails done in Brooklyn, my old neighborhood. The tools for cleaning nails were already out in a bin, instead of being opened in front of me in a plastic covering. Then when cleaning under the nail, a wooden stick (for nails) was used, but she just pulled it out of the drawer, used it, wiped it and then put it back in the drawer. There are a few other things but all in all the pedicure and manicure came out nice. No shoulder massage after the service, which is normal practice in other salons. The pedicure here is expensive here though. It cost 22 dollars. I raised the issue with the manager but she said the whole area was priced this way, so I asked some neighboring salons; they charge 15-17 for their pedicures. Mera's Tip: get a manicure

When you do math correctly it's $125. I was paying with cash mind you. I tipped her $26, so it came out to $153. I gave her $160 in cash and she seemed offended that I said give me back $10, to give her a $23 tip. She said only $23. To be fair she worked on my hands for almost two hours so I added $3 more bucks. I only came here because someone died train surfing. I don't see myself coming back here depending on how long these last. It was my first time ever being in pain from getting my nails done. Normally I get acrylic with gel color, never felt pain. The nail tech did say this was normal. The inside was very nice and clean. The noise level was very low. I liked my nail tech, she did move my hands around a lot. I never experienced a nail tech being like this before. I explained I have issues with my wrists and that my hands were stiff. She commented on my feet being stiff as well, I can't control that because I disassociate so I don't laugh from being tickled, I have sensitive feet. The same person did my toes and my fingers. I appreciated that because normally it's two different people. I didnt like how short my toes were cut, they were being dug into. My cuticles are like gone. My fingers do have some cuts on them. The techs own nails were digging into my skin while she was holding my hands. The place I normally go its less than $100. I guess the price goes with the neighborhood. I'll see how these two weeks go then I'll decide if I want to go back. Its a 50/50 chance, I would recommend them tho. Only giving three stars for now because I'm not sure how long they will last. My toes also don't match my hands, my ocd is a little upset.

The lady who did my nails was straight up RUDE. she didn't ask my preference for anything and went way too deep with the cubicles. She got up at least twice mid manicure to do other things and one of the other ladies came over and started whispering while staring at my nails. I didn't even get a good manicure after going through all of that. The end product is streaky and I could have done a better job myself. Half of my nail looks like it has a second coat and he other half looks like it doesn't. Not to mention it's chipping already, less than 4 hours later. Extremely disappointing. As I read in other reviews, they don't walk you to the dryer or instruct you how to use it they just stop with the top coat and point. I ended up messing up one of my nails trying to figure out how the dryer worked. I listened to the lady giving a pedicure and she seemed to have a relationship with her client, so maybe she does a good job but the lady I had was enough to make me stay away for good. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE... unless you want to leave feeling blown off and angry.
