Food was ok - hashbrowns came out cold (would have been good hot), but the croissant sandwich was ok. The pancake was fine. The almond coffee drink was nasty - literally couldn't drink it. It's so cute and eclectic but the service wasn't great and the food really wasn't very good. Wouldn't recommend. There's so many better places.

Don't go here. I was down for a bachelorette party with a group of girls. My card was charged 2 different charges for my breakfast. I would have never noticed, but since someone else from our group said there was suspicious activity on her card from somewhere, it made me double check my online statements. I don't know if someone stole my credit card info there or made a mistake somehow. I tried to call the number for the restaurant to get the charge taken off but it said number not in service, which I thought was shady. So I had to call my bank to report it to get my money back and they had to send me another card. I barely got it in time for my vacation, and I would have been really pissed if I didn't get it. Food wasn't really great either. The pancakes were really flat and dry. Tasted like it was made earlier and reheated. Service wasn't that great either. There's so many better places to go , I would skip this one.

Stopped here for a small lunch while on the 24th street beach. This is located in the ground floor of the Howard Johnson hotel and the entrance is on the side facing 24th Street. Looks like an ample option for both pool folk at the hotel and also people coming off the beach - but it would be good if they had some signage out on the boardwalk to alert people to themselves. Looks like they renovated recently - new flooring, clean white bar faces and butcher block countertops. Staff was friendly and took our order quickly. This was a carry out order, and we went with a cheesesteak sub which came with fries, as well as an order of cheese sticks. The sun was very good - a good mix of cheese and steak- and the bread was fresh. As for the fries they weren't very fresh but good overall. The cheese sticks are BATTERED not breaded - which is my FAVORITE style. Marinara was tangy and very good as well. I was teetering between 3 and 4 stars - but the battered sticks puts it over the edge and into 4 star territory.

Decorating is questionable. Service is mid, but the workers are nice and know how to use respect. French toast is good but nothing shocking. Would choose a different place.

    Hole in the wall

Food tasted awful. Extremely high prices. When the waiter brought out our check, the price seemed oddly high. So we double checked the price of all the items on the menu and added tax, turns out he added 10 dollars more than the total bill. Do not come here. There was food all over the floor and flies, flying around the restaurant. There was also a hole in the wall being held together by duct tape.

Tomato, spinach and cheddar omelette with hash browns & wheat toast

Cute cafe. One Star for the coffee and one star for the amount of bacon provided. I made my own omelette, tomato, spinach and cheddar. Decent omelette. They only have hash browns and they weren't good (at all). The Mister had 3 eggs with bacon (+ extra bacon) and grits with toast. Eggs ok, good bacon & toast, hard grits, couldn't eat them. $50 w/tip... never again. The hostess team was very friendly and pleasant. Our hostess never shared her name was efficient but not engaging.

Kahuna - 2 over medium eggs, came with French toast and two pieces of bacon ( bacon ate before picture taken)

We saw some good ratings and gave this place a shot and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff who helped us make the right selection. As my wife was fasting, she went with a small fruit bowl, my son chose shortstack pancakes, and I tried the veggie hash. The fruit bowl was decorated well and had plenty of variety. From blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, watermelons, apples, bananas, and others, all the fruits were fresh and perfectly ripe. The pancakes were very large and just one would have been more than enough for two people it seems but they even added berries for my son on them. The veggie hash had lots of potential. It was cooked well, however, lacked seasoning. It seemed slightly bland and I had to utilize ketchup to give it some identity. However, the quality and variety of veggies inside was great. Overall, I am giving four stars due to the fact that the prices are high, but the service and quality are worth it; especially for such a close location to the boardwalk.

We were set on getting the salmon and the swordfish dishes which we did, and it did not disappoint! They were the most delicious dishes I had experienced in a long time. I asked about the seasoning on the salmon and the waitress, who was fabulous, said it was Moroccan. I loved the hint of cinnamon but according to the Moroccan spice I looked at on the web, it is a combination of numerous spices which amounts to a delicious combination of flavors. Both dishes were paired perfectly with their sides and sauces. I have never left a review about a restaurant before. This will be one of my few unforgettable meals. If dining inside, bring a sweater. They don't skimp on their air-conditioning. It was a cool night so we ate outside which was nice, but what made it nicer was our wonderful waitress, Fanika(?), who had the most awesome, helpful, outgoing personality that makes a dining experience that much better. And she was right about the coconut espresso martini. It was delicious! She also mentioned that the menus are seasonal so I am looking forward to returning to Hooked when I'm back in OC and trying other meals. I'm hooked!!

The restaurant is kept clean and neat, and I was quickly seated and able to order. They have a special with eggs cooked to order, choice of breakfast meat, toast, and potatoes - I had mine scrambled, with corned beef hash, and rye toast. Service was good and the server was very attentive. Food came out quickly, and the corned beef hash was very good. Eggs were properly cooked. Toast was nice marbled rye, although it wasn't warm at all. I've always had good experience here, and I'd say this is a solid four star place, and I will be back. I started with two soups - jerk chicken and rice soup and the cream of crab. The chicken was good and had long rice with plenty of spices but the soup came out very lukewarm. Granted I don't need it piping but it was somewhat concerning. Also - the chicken was a tenderloin rather than shredded or chopped which was kind of hard to negotiate with a spoon. The cream of crab continues to cement its place as the top 2 cream of crab soups in and around OC. I went with the longboard burger as my meal - served with pasta salad. Really like the pasta salad as a side being different. The burger was pretty skimpy on the special sauce that came with it, but I asked for a side of bleu cheese which was good. Longboard Café is a convenient and lovely stop just across the main bridge into Ocean City. There's plenty of parking in the shopping center lot, plus indoor seating and a covered outdoor patio. It's a very pet-friendly, cozy place. Our server was attentive from start to finish. Rex got a bowl of water, some bacon, and even a cute bandana. That was before he managed to score a few bites of our burgers... because they're pretty big! I had the jerk mahi-mahi tacos. It was a good lunch portion. The fish was cooked a bit longer than I'd like, but it was still enjoyable. The crab cake burger was savory and delicious! The pasta salad, which is offered as a side with many of the entrees, was also excellent. Loaded with herbs, capers, and simply full of flavor. Two other burgers at our table (the Longboard Burger and the Bacon Burger) were also thoroughly enjoyed. I almost forgot... the beverages were great too. The classic margarita was awesome. Good ingredients, that splash of Grand Marnier, and not overly sweet. You might want a second... My kids had the Cosmockpolitan and the Strawberry Lemonade Crush. Both were refreshing and disappeared quickly. Between the friendly service, the good food, the excellent drinks, and the VIP treatment for Rex, we left very happy. We'll definitely be back.
