Chicken sandwich was tasty. The sandwich is big and filling. There was one problem. Part of my chicken in the sandwich wasn't cooked all the way, was definitely undercooked as another reviewer mentioned three safe problem. Probably should increase the cooking time. You get a big piece of chicken. So I could see why it would be hard to cook it all the way through. Some parts were thicker than others so some of it was cooked and some of it wasn't. Next time I'm going to ask for well done. I will definitely give it another try. they were out of french fries so I had tater tots.The tater tots could use a little seasoning. read more

Hands down sassy bird is one of the best chicken spots in the av from the food to the service! I'd wait in line much more here then at popeyes that's for sure. The mild is flavorful and the hot has a really nice kick to it, the tater tots are crisp crisp and overall for 13 bucks you can't go wrong ! I absolutely adore this place. It's a true gem and the AV needs more spots like this. Please support your local businesses! I would've never thought that something like this would be in the AV. The food is always good and the price is just right. For all the comments that are saying that $13 - $15 might be a little pricey, clearly they don't eat out in LA. This is a bang for the buck deal and the quality is always right! It takes me the whole day to eat the loaded fries with double chicken. I do believe that the prices go up a little bit if you order through GrubHub but that's because it's and app that's trying to benefit off of Sassy's sales. Go directly to sassybird and I promise you it'll be not only cheaper but faster. That money you save by not going thru Grubhub you can tip or get ranch. I was reluctant to give this location a second chance because when I first ordered it on GrubHub it wasn't a busy time and my wait time was set for a two hour prep that I waited for in my car for instead of driving back to Palmdale and then back to Lancaster. However I knew that this might have been GrubHub's problem because people were walking up to the door, placing orders, and getting them faster than mine. The second order I used their website I didn't haven't had to wait any more than 20 minutes. I've ordered many times, profiles would nice. Maybe it would be cool to see a point system for the orders to get a cookie or something. Most places have them and it might be good initiatives. As far as the community outside, it is a popular area so there will be a lot of buzz, be safe and keep your distance during Covid. Tried to place an order ahead online and the "place order" button wouldn't work. They were open so I figured maybe something wrong with site. I get there and all of about 7 employees are hanging out sitting in the lobby. I told the host that I tried placing an order online but the site wasn't working. She said yeah it cause we're on lunch. She asked if I wanted to put in order still but that it would be an hour and 15 minute wait. That's not good business. Covid or not. Change your hours to reflect that your entire business shuts down during employee lunch time. Maybe Ask your employees not to lounge in the front of the glass building for everyone to see and think that you're open. read more

Unlike the other reviews, I had no wait time so I cannot comment on that. I could however, comment that the food was not great. Our food was cold, i mean cold beyond cold that it was unbearable. Food was not great . The only item that was good were the fries but even them , yup you guessed it, were cold !!! Not knowing how spicy the "SASSY AF" is I went ahead and gave it a try and let me tell you it had me sweating!! It is beyond spicy!! So order at your own risk. Other than that I'm not sure I'll be going back. Like I said the food is delicious but I don't know if it's worth the 3 hour wait!! This place needs better time managing skills and needs to be better with its organization. 3 hours is way too long to be waiting for food!! Not even Roscoes Chicken and waffles takes that long!! For starters, their advertising of "dine-in" and "outdoor seating" is a lie. There was absolutely zero dine in seating available. There were some public picnic tables on the sidewalk in the area, but it was first come, first serve; and I didn't see anybody cleaning these tables at any point. I saw this restaurant posted on social media and thought "Hey that looks good, I'm gonna try that". When I arrived there were very clear signs outside the building dictating for pick up and order. Called in one by one. When I was finally able to go inside the building- there were no menus posted on the wall. I looked down at a few cards (roughly 4x5in) with their logo on it and flipped it over to see there was the menu. I decided what I wanted and ordered rather quickly. During my interaction with the cashier, he mentioned I would receive a text message 5 minutes before my order was ready. I figured pretty standard I wouldn't be waiting much longer than 20-30 minutes. I waited for over an hour for my food and checked multiple times if maybe something had gone wrong. I never received any text from them. The food was good, but certainly not good enough to wait an hour. read more

Life Changing! I have had the sandwich twice. Both were delivered and paid by someone else so I can't speak for the price or service. I heard the hype but in reality, it was all understatement. The sandwich was definitely a highlight in my culinary life. I think I had the middle spicy one which had just a little kick to complement the flavor rather than overpower it. It was so thick, I could only bite halfway through the thick parts. I am salivating as I remember the flavor. I can't believe there are negative reviews. If you read them you see most did not say anything bad about the food. Service is important but for this sandwich, I would wait outside in a long "Soup Nazi" line... in the rain. Maybe the complainers were competitors or just wannabe critics. A couple complained about it being dry. My first experience was more moist than the second but that is what is called real food people! Maybe they are used to McDonald's or Chick-Fillet (which I love) where the chicken is hyper processed. This is more like you would make at home -if you were a national cook-off champion, I mean. If you like Popeye's sandwich, this is about four times as good. I just can't wait to take my family. read more

Ok so I went over the weekend right during lunch time at to my surprise it was only a 15 min wait which was great! I ordered the sandwich with sassy af heat level and it was AMAZING!! Ive never had a sando that massive before nor that delicious. It's really flavorful with every bite. We also got the laoded fries and TOTALLY underestimated the quality AND quantity! Closed the box and said, "Damn...that's lunch and dinner for tomorrow." Overall a great location and experience! It is located in the heart of Downtown Lancaster and it's architecture is amazing; all glass windows. The staff was helpful in choosing the correct level of spiciness and was attentive. The line can be long if you come at peak periods but they do post line updates on their Instagram story! The Mild Chicken Sand-which I ordered was amazing and the sauce that comes on the side is a must! However, they need to do a better job either making fries to order with the Sand-which or keep them warmer until the complete order is ready. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The chicken was so moist and pippin with flavor. The mild sauce was perfection and the hot sauce was just the right amount of heat. God damn this is my most disappointing sandwich I've ever had, I've been so hyped to try to for a long time and I finally had it. Somehow, a hot chicken sandwich manages to have little to no seasoning? I mean yeah the hot spice is there but the flavor isn't at all. For those mentioning the long wait times, sometimes that is indeed the case but only because they have lots of orders ahead of yours in the queue! Placed an order online, asked the employee if it was faster he said yes. gave an estimated time, was first in line, asked multiple times to different employees if we can get our order soon and they all said the order was going to be ready around that time , they could of just canceled the ordered and place for us but they didn't, they let us wait outside for exactly 2 hours from 11:20AM to 1:20PM its ridiculous.
