My usual eyebrow lady does them within 15 minutes or less and it seemed to have doubled at this location; she was very slow and the job somehow was worse. She was hesitant to trim the ends, which is something that I always have done by my original eyebrow lady. My eyebrows were uneven as one was arched and the other was curved so I had to tell her to trim the ends or take off more above the arch. She had to go back in several times and each time she failed to do what I asked her. My eyebrows were 3 weeks grown out and I could literally see my shape yet she failed to see it. I left unsatisfied and tried to clean them up with tweezers afterwards.

She didn't do anything to my cuticles and just left skin there. The color she painted wasn't even close to the color I chose. It's hideous and she just painted over my bumpy "builder gel". I also thought it was weird that she didn't even let my nails cure until the light went off. She just kept switching them so fast. When she finished she didn't say a word so I wasn't even sure I was done until she got up and started cleaning her things. My nails are bumpy, the shape looking like a fcking triangle which is NOT what I asked for nor did she even ask what I wanted. I paid $70 for the ugliest, bumpiest, horribly painted, triangle looking nails. She did not ask if I liked it or anything because she probably knew I hated them and I'm sure she hated them also. I was the ONLY client there for the first half of my service so there was no reason for rushing and I would assume she would be able to do her best, considering there wasn't any clients before or after me. I would rather have no nails than have these UGLY DISGUSTING NAILS.

We get there, she mentions " Oh, my girls back from vacation." I asked who's your girl? I look and it was my GIRL PRITI!!!!! I literally told her OMG! She looks familiar and once she gets closer I felt so good knowing I found my girl!!!! Back story... I used to do my brows with Priti at Ziba in Glendale. She was my go to for years I wanna say over five. One day to the next, the owner pulled a shady situation. I had booked online as usual with my Girl Priti. When I show up, the manager or owner tells me that she moved out of the country to help a family member. You cannot imagine how distraught I was because when you find your girl you stick to her! And I trusted her with my eyebrows and my daughter's eyebrows for years. I was also very upset because I told them why did you guys keep my appointment? Or even notify me before I showed up? I don't just let anybody touch my brows especially my daughters ! I was expecting my girl Priti to do them. I also had a very important event. The owner ended up doing my eyebrows and my daughters but didn't come out the same. I never went back to Ziba and left a pretty lengthy review on yelp. If you go back to the Yelp and read all the reviews, many were deceived the way I was. As a business owner they could've called and notified their customers ahead of time. Anyway, After many years of searching for a spot / threader. Unfortunately, I never did! Don't get me wrong I did try Brow Essense and also in Glendale and Dani is great but I can't keep paying 50 bucks for just eyebrow threading. That's why I say the universe wanted me to find my girl in East LA. Go see Priti! She's amazing and their price is actually reasonable ! $10 for eyebrow threading . So today was a good day!

I've been debating whether or not I should write this updated review but I think it's only fair…read more I was really loyal to this salon for over a decade. I'd go to Jackie and KK the most but back then Anju did a good job. After a while, I'd go to KK exclusively because she knew EXACTLY how I liked my brows and was always consistent. I'd go with my grandma, who would usually go to KK or Anju or Jackie. Well, she had to stop going to Anju because Anju would leave her eyelids cut up more often than not. I had already stopped going with Anju because she messed up on me a few times and didn't really listen when I'd tell her what I wanted. I knew her personally for so many years, so I just let it slide and would go to KK. I also understood why my grandma would stop going (she also had fewer hairs to remove with age). I moved to San Francisco, so I would only come here when I was in town visiting family. I'd make the effort to come in once a month to maintain my shape. But then I started to notice that KK was there less frequently. All of a sudden, she's gone. Why is this suspicious? Well KK is a sweetheart and for a while, she basically helped Anju run the place. She handled the phone, payments, services, and cleanup. Some days there was even a line because everyone was waiting for KK, so Anju and another woman (not Jackie) had no work. They often seemed annoyed about it. After seeing reviews about Anju in the recent years, this makes sense. It just feels weird to see reviews about customers being told KK was fired. I, too, was told she went back to school or went on vacation. This can only hold up so long, I guess. So, then they started to tell people she was fired. When I was first told she went back to school I was confused. I talked to KK for years and knew she was in school, so I figured she decided to go back full time. Then I saw reviews saying she went on vacation. So, I called back out of curiosity and was told the "she's on vacation" line. Weird. I miss KK and still haven't found someone as gentle, precise, and kind as her. She was always so sweet and even during the pandemic she's cover up and make sure to keep her hands clean. Anju has always been so kind to me and my grandma, but I've seen her and the business change over the last few years. She seems far less into it now and I'm so sad to see it reflected in her and this once great salon.

I came back only because we paid via Groupon and you would not give me a refund directly. We had a reservation for three, made months before our date, and when we got there there were only two staff. We were told it was because of an emergency, Chinese New Year. One of the party received an adequate service, the other was definitely not worth the money. We had a Groupon, which means we already paid for three services, so I insisted I be given a free service at a later date. Reluctantly, she agreed. I went a few weeks later, my service provider was good and really sweet but overall, I have had a better scalp therapy, at a nicer location, for less cost. I would suggest your expectations are not very high if you plan to come here.
