Omg!! I can't believe I've lived in Gaithersburg for 5 years and haven't tried Sardi's. What an experience. I've always rode past it because the parking lot seems a little chaotic but today I decided to try it out. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the hostess. She was super friendly and made the establishment very inviting. I told her my name and my order was immediately ready (thank God for on line ordering). I ordered the half chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. The chicken was very delicious. Super tender practically falling off the bone. The green beans were super tasty with onion and garlic that they add. The mash potatoes were very flavorful with the gravy. Sardi's did not disappoint. I will return really soon. Have come here many times over a number of years and just noticed that I never did a review! The chicken here is nicely seasoned and the veggies are always well prepared. The portion sizes for the veggies and other sides are enormous and the other sides I've had (salad, mashed potatoes, beans/rice, slaw) have been good. You can expect a good and filling meal here. Note: there are so many chicken places like this in the area and many of them serve up a very similar menu with good and plentiful sides. I can't say there's anything that stands out here that gets me to come here as opposed to one of the competitors. They do have non-chicken entrees here that I confess I haven't tried. But the chicken and sides here are consistently good. read more

I legit thought that this Sardi's had disappeared as I started to drive up to where I thought it was and all I could see was a Pollo Campero. And, don't get me wrong. I think Pollo Campero is delicious, but the last time I went to a Pollo Campero in Tacoma Park, my meal was like insanely expensive and I just feel like the price did not match the amount of food I got. Turns out, that this Pollo Campero just build its location ON the adjoining building of the Sardi's that has been there for like AGES. A bit rude. And granted Pollo Campero is not specifically Peruvian style chicken... it's just I feel A LITTLE too close of a menu for comfort. In any event, I stopped into Sardis and picked up a half chicken with rice & beans as one side and the brussels and carrots as another. I will say... the chickens do look like they've shrinkflated a bit. I mean... you can see them spinning around the rotisserie right behind all the workers and they really look almost like cornish game hens then they do chickens. That said, the chicken I got was cooked well and did actually have a good amount of meat on the bone. The rice and beans were delicious. And the brussels and carrots were good albeit a bit salty for my personal preference. I asked for a side of tortillas and they told me to ask at the register, which was just a bit irritating as when I got to the register they told me that it was going to be a 4-5 minute wait for tortillas, so basically they would have been done if I had asked for them close to the beginning of the line. All in all it was a good meal. I will say that I think ever since Sardi's started prepacking their sauces, they haven't tasted super high quality. I know it's SO much easier for them, but I have to imagine that they likely feel the same way. They likely had to put some preservatives in the recipe for them to be packaged in that sort of way. You can taste it. On the Peruvian Chicken hiearchy, which I spoke about years ago, I think Sardi's is pretty high. But I think that if I had to choose in between Sardi's and Don Pollo, I'd probably go with Don Pollo. That being said, the last time I got Crisp and Juicy the chicken was pretty overcooked, so I think Sardi's is definitely above them. Though the sauces at Crisp and Juicy are fire. One thing is for certain though, I think the bang for your buck on Sardi's over Pollo Campero is definitely there, and I still think it's a little shady that they opened this large location attached to the Sardi's building. read more

Sardi's is always awesome! My meal from there this evening was no different. I ordered a takeout meal to be picked up at 4:30. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I also noticed that the inside is upgraded- looks great! The three chicken meals I got were all great. The chicken is the best in the area, without fail. The cashier tried to hurry me out and say it was all the same price. I went out to my car put in my order on the app and guess what $32.80 vs $40.33 which she charged me. I went back and still she tried to hurry me gave me $6.30 back in cash, when the difference is $7.53. "A side costs $6.30" clearly it does t bc the app and receipt show the tax so the difference is $7.53, it's the principle. Stop trying to rush ppl out of there thinking if you speak Spanish and hurry us we won't notice. Glad I went back in this time but still mad bc this is bad customer service. read more

Loved this place, good service, very accessible, generous sides and fast service. Sadly, music was too loud and lyrics were too explicit, that's why 4 stars. I ordered a whole chicken, it was tender, flavored and delicious. 10/10. This restaurant has a good space to hold a party of 10 or more people easily. If you ask me if this place would be good for family gatherings? just for the loudnesses of the music, I would not recommend it for any family meeting, I'm not sure if the music is always loud, but today it was pretty loud. We brought Sardis home for dinner to watch football and it did not disappoint. We ordered the family meal and a few extra sides. My fiancé went and picked up the food. It was crowded so know what you want to not annoy the customers there's no cold potato salad or coleslaw. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The mashed potatoes with gravy were amazing. The Yuka was a little tough to eat. It was fried and very crispy. The string beans were al dente and the corn had a butter flavor. It's a good deal for the money. I was looking for some lamb chops on Uber Eats. Sardi's came up. I thought they only had chicken. Well turns out they have marinated barbecue lamb chops. I love that smoky taste in my lamb! Well the chops were absolutely DELICIOUS. Good smoky taste. Very tender too. My only negative is wish they were bigger despite 4 chops coming with it. First of all the employees here are excellent, as is the cleanliness of the restaurant. The problem for the 3rd and final time is the food at least when we've gone is sub par at best. Chicken extremely dry...again and my wife who got $22 salmon was tasteless. We spent $67 for 3 people and left still hungry. Very disappointing as I realize we must have eaten again in a bad day because they do have many positive reviews. We had a delicious meal at Sardi's this weekend. We ordered the 1/4 white meat rotisserie chicken with French fries and green beans, and the 3 piece dark meat with a vegetable medley and fried rice. The meals were both generously seasoned to perfection. They also offer multiple types of dipping sauces and are not stingy with allowing you to try more than one. There are plenty of options to choose from on the menu as well, and the food seems to be fresh with the rotisserie chickens rotating while they cook right behind the food counter. We enjoyed the up-beat music and cleanliness of the restaurant. We like Sardi's because they offer healthy and affordable authentic Peruvian meals at multiple locations throughout Maryland. It's been forever since I've been to a Sardi's, but was craving some Peruvian chicken so decided to order for curbside pickup. When you arrive and park in one of the front spots, there's a sign stating to text a certain number with your name, spot #, and make/model of your vehicle. Yeah, don't do that or you'll be waiting quite awhile. After waiting for about 10 minutes with no text back or food, I gave the restaurant a call. My order was out in minutes. The lady who brought out my order mentioned their system was down, so it's best to call the store directly. Noted for next time! I got a whole chicken and two large sides (chaufa and beans X 2), as well as the steak anticuchos with mashed potatoes/gravy and fries. The Peruvian rotisserie chicken was well marinated and tender with crispy skin. The steak skewers (2/order) were also very tender and had good flavor to them. The chaufa (Peruvian chicken fried rice) and beans were pretty good. Plenty of this side came packed in the container. Mashed potatoes/gravy and fries were pretty standard, with preference for the fries. Would definitely order both dishes again! read more

Previously I was there around March and ordered the 1/4 dark chicken with plantains and Brussels sprouts for $12.95. The food was very good overall, but the price was already ridiculous then. I know prices are up everywhere, but not this much, as a year before it was under $10. Currently I stopped in on a Sunday around 6 pm. Usually at a time like this, the place would be packed with a line out the door. This time there was nobody in line and maybe all of four tables were occupied. Walked up to order and looked at the menu. $14.50 for the same order of chicken. Walked right back out the door. No quarter chicken is worth that much, and from the number of customers inside, I can see previous customers agree. read more

We used to love coming here, but the portion sizes have been shrinking smaller and smaller and smaller with every visit. This time my salmon did not even come with rice. I was told that the policy is to no longer provide rice with an entrée. For $22 I would think that I would at least get a little scoop of rice. On top of this, when I asked the manager who was extremely rude to replace 1/2 of my brussels sprouts with rice to make up for the lack, he put the brussel sprouts from my plate back into the vat to serve to other customers. Lastly it must have been about 80 degrees in the restaurant. They must be cutting back on ac in addition to food. Very disappointing. read more

We ordered food for a last minute graduation party which they were able to accommodate because of how much food they prep daily. The food tastes delicious everyone loved it! We bought four of the two chicken family deals and instead of buying 5 different sides we just got one good portion with each of the four family deals. We went with the fried rice, brussels, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies and all of it was a HIT! The only downside is they forgot to include the gravy with the order and therefore my husband had to go back for it but luckily we do not live too far away. Sardis has been a moco staple since I was a kid and they still serve great and delicious food. The food is consistently great with no problems. Their Peruvian chicken is easily the best peruvian chicken that I've had, it's very flavorful and juicy. Both the dark meat and white meat of chicken are delicious but the white meat is flat out amazing. My favorite sides are the fried rice (great), plantains (great), and French fries (good). They also have a yellow sauce that is my favorite: try adding it to the chicken and even fried rice and you will see how amazing the combination is. So happy to come back to Sardi's after a long time. Absolutely love the food, and they didn't disappoint. This location has ample seating and very nice decor. We got the family special with 2 chickens, 5 sides (we got an extra side), and 2 liter soda. There was more than enough food for 6 people and we had leftovers! Went to the Gaithersburg location with my family. We ordered the Ceviche. It was very though and Disgusting to eat. I complained to the manager and trashed it in front of him. Wouldn't give me a refund stating that we had eaten some of it. Very poor food associated with very poor costumer service. The atmosphere is upbeat and modern. There's a nice seated area if you decide to eat in. The order line reminds me a lot like chipotle. The service was fast! The chicken AND the sides are delicious! The chicken is juicy and very well seasoned. I ordered the half chicken with potatoes and rice. EVERYTHING was good. So good in fact, I came back the very next day. I will say I am not a huge fan of their yellow sauce. It really did not have much flavor. They come prepackaged unlike other Peruvian restaurants. The restaurant both days was pretty crowded.
