    Don't go here

So we are walking down Hidalgo and my daughter calls after having a bad day at work so I continue to talk to her as my wife goes in for a couple drinks and a couple tequila shots to go. It was taking quite a long time so I went in to see what the hold up was. As I walk in they are trying to charge her $750 peso - $42 usd. I was like hell no. So they dropped the price to $500. I told them to shove it. They are predictors. Move on to the next place. This one will get you

We came to isla mujures for the day and this was one of the places we came here for lunch, the music was what go me to have a seat, can't go wrong listening to red hot chilli peppers in Mexico, service was awesome our waiter was very nice and talkative. The food was good except I wasn't a fan of the mussels I usually eat them but maybe I wasn't in the mood, the ceviche was fresh and the guacamole, I don't think anyone will mess those up, coffee after was great I had one cup and asked for more, cool spot very small but cozy we did enjoy our time here

I was drawn by the fun art on the walls, gives this outside restaurant a edgy vibe! I ordered the saffron zucchini pasta! Wow! Kicks a punch! Group of three of us decided to give it a go since we all are veggie. Wait was a good 25 min and let's just say it was well worth the wait! You can taste the freshness of the noodles, saffron wasn't too over powering. Fresh homemade bread was delightful. I would have to say it's the best Italian I've had yet:)! So ever find yourself in Isla mujeres please take this joint Into consideration:) sweet server as well.

Very nicest service but mediocre food, sadly, and so noisy. We did have excellent guac there.

Drinks were interesting in a good way! The inside is really nice on the 3rd floor. Some good live music also. And the desserts were amazing! We couldn't decide which 2 to order so we got 3 even tho we were full and loved all 3. The Mexican lime pie is great. And the Mexican caramel pie is great. Go to Rosas!

Traveling to Isla Mujeres in early February 2026, we wanted to try Rosa Sirena's for dinner based…read moreon the many good reviews we had read. A reservation was easy to obtain via email and we were all set for a sunset, evening meal. We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere pleasant with an acoustic duo playing mellow tunes in the background. Honestly, we were a little disappointed with the view that most reviews rave about. Our sever was knowledgeable and made several suggestions. We selected the Pepita Crusted Tuna for a starter, my companion had the fresh catch which was grouper, blackened with a side of the peanut sauce. I chose the Surf and Turf. For dessert, we shared the Key Lime Pie. Everything was beautifully presented, and quite artistic. The tuna appetizer was very good, but the main courses were frankly a disappointment. The creativity of the plate did not make up for the lackluster food. The steak was tough and poorly seasoned, the lobster was just passable but also chewy and not tender. The fish was not as well cooked as other restaurants downtown and again the seasoning was lackluster. The sides, lentils and mashed potatoes were just ok. The homemade Key Lime Pie was enjoyable but again seemed to lack a depth of flavor. If the food could match the service, presentation, and atmosphere then perhaps this could be one of Isla's better dining establishments, until then "the juice was not worth the squeeze."

I would've liked the actual meat of the fish to be more tender (it bordered on overcooked) but still I walked away plenty satisfied. It does have lots of tiny bones. Bread basket came with the most delicious roasted eggplant in oil, I could've eaten just that with the bread and been a happy camper. The roasted octopus was not bad but a touch too heavy on the sauces for me, I would've wanted more of the flavor of the octopus on its own. The potatoes under the octopus, however, were perhaps my favorite part of the whole meal. Everyone else seemed happy with their food - the catch of the day (with the fluffiest mashed potatoes) was a very popular choice. If you're sick of seafood, they have steak and braised brisket on their menu. Really cozy and romantic ambiance as well for if you want to dress up slightly. This place gets very popular for good reason; I liked the little bar counter they set up out front so you can watch the grilling in action.
