My girlfriend and I were coming back from Tulum early in the morning to make our flight. We were used to the overpriced, mediocre food in Tulum and were desperate for a healthy option before traveling all day. Mangata was the BEST breakfast we had in 4 days staying here. They had amazing vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, awesome staff, and their food was insanely delicious. Oh, and for what we would pay for 2 meals in Tulum - we got 4 meals and 2 drinks + a 15% tip for the same price. We came back almost every day to Managata during our visit in PM, because the service here is phenomenal. The ambiance is relaxed and very comfortable. Saturday morning they had a jazz duo from Argentina playing live music. Very cool!! The waiters, manager, and cooks work as a team, and they are all kind, warm, and friendly. They modified the menu for me with a smile. Business model is eco and compassionate. They ask customers to bring their own to-go dish. The higeine is the best I have ever encountered in Mexico. For example, they keep their silverware covered with a cloth to keep the flies off, and they wipe the cups completely dry after washing, before serving beverages to their customers. You have to mind these details in Mexico, because they work with non-potable water. My last few days I tried the green juice with coconut, spinach, pineapple, mango, and spirulina. Delicious!! Today I had the cacao banana smoothie, which they modified for me to avoid cane sugar. They replaced the peanut butter with raw pecans and cinammon. It did not need added sugar. It was delicious. Went back the next day and ordered the *vegan* Nutella French toast off the menu. Turns out they were using real Nutella, which isn't vegan at all. Very functionary as it looked delicious. They were a bit confused with why we rejected it and in the end we ordered the wrap we'd previously had. They were very apologetic and offered us some brownie which they insisted were vegan (but did have me a little worried if I'm being honest).
