We stumbled upon the Dalya Estate in the town of Sebastopol. Not knowing much about the area, we took a chance and booked our stay and we are SO glad we did! From the stunning home to the absolutely breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards, we couldn't have landed in a better spot. While we ventured off site for a dinner and wine tastings, we truly never needed to leave the house. The pool was the perfect way to spend the warm Sonoma days and the house allowed us to put the kids to bed while still enjoying each others company in other areas of the home. When we did venture out, we were pleasantly surprised by the access we had to vineyards nearby and the short drive to surrounding towns - St. Helena, Yontville, etc. If you have a large group and are looking for a perfect Napa getaway, look no further than the Dalya Estate...truly felt like a Tuscan getaway and we cannot wait to return!

Both places were beautifully decorated and furnished. They were also exceptionally clean. The kitchens in both places were very well equipped for gourmet cooking. Just a couple examples of unexpected food prep and entertainment equipment are coffee grinders, food scales, large serving plates, and extensive stemware for wine. Very unexpected supplies included whole bean coffee, fresh fruit and two bottles of wine. There are also a large number of toys and sports equipment in the garages. My son brought his own golf clubs and got in a round of golf while we were there, but the Wineberry Lodge has two sets of golf clubs in the garage in case someone does not want to transport their own clubs. The site is beautiful and located in a very convenient area for golf, wine tasting, and in my case about a three-minute drive from the Vine Hill House wedding venue Heidi was a wonderful host. I highly recommend either or both of Wineberry Lodge and Blackberry Cottage for a wine country getaway.

We cooked a lot there, and the kitchen was beautifully kitted out. The cottage offers all the creature comforts, including a hottub with a view; about the only problem that we had while we were there was that we couldn't get the Internet access to function, and there was no cell phone coverage, so it was an off-the-net experience; this added to the serenity. The views across Tomales bay from three directions are magical (but be warned: this is probably not a good house for families with small children - there is not much barrier on the patio) Well worth the money, and highly recommended.

They also said they wouldn't be posting new photos of this property until construction finished, so they can keep gauging people like myself! What a special anniversary trip... People and companies like this are truly despicable. Cannot discourage people enough from staying in any of their properties and supporting this fraud.

I rented a place last weekend and had to call Chris while all the smoke detectors were going off because the fireplace flue was closed and the whole place full of smoke. No instructions about how to open flue or that it even needed to be opened before using. He was rude and childish. The fire dept. came and the whole house smelled like smoke all weekend which I guess was better than the overriding mold smell of the place before the smoke incident. He responded to no messages all weekend even when we notified him that the fire dept. had not put out the log properly and the deck had apparently had a small fire under it. The property will get bad reviews on Air B and B now because of him. He didn't do his job and is childish to boot.

The "Hi House" is absolutely gorgeous, starting with the panoramic view of the sky and trees all around you when you wake up in the morning. You can't get much closer to being in the elements, except you have central heating and a comfy bed. There are decks all around the place for just sitting and taking in the scenery, and I bet if you brought that certain someone, you might not leave the place for days. This little house is made for two, with one central room made entirely of glass, a tiny kitchen and even tinier bathroom. There is a Jetson-esque tram that actually takes you from your car up the hill to the house, so you really do feel like you're in a tree house, far up from the world down below. Antlers and succulents and 1960s furniture are the backdrop. Between the hiking trails and the oysters, the ocean and the Scotland highland-ish surroundings, there's tons to do and explore. Just one rule... no rocks! You are in a glass house after all.

On your first night, there is continental breakfast left in the fridge. It's "adults only" and you couldn't comfortably fit more than two, anyway. There are three separate decks for reading, and you'll see little more than trees and the water in the distance (oh, and some birds who missed the glass and fly into it-it's okay-they all kept flying. I checked) It's even decked out in 70's decor to complete your childhood fantasy. The bed is super high, very soft, and I was pleased with the linens. The owners have also outfitted the house with every book on Point Reyes ever published. Quiet, peaceful-an absolute favorite.
