Update: Management called us and told us that if we removed the bad review, they would give us a complete refund plus a $150 credit toward the restaurant. We told them no. We still believe it is only fair that we pay for the first night. My wife said, that sounds like a bribe. She wasn't falling for it. She did not want to have others end up with the same experience we had. Even though we paid for the first night through Booking.com using Apple Pay, we discovered that the hotel had also charged our Citi card, which was attached to Booking.com, for all three nights two days before we arrived. So we were charged twice. We disputed the charges with the card company. We thought it was over when the charges were removed from our card, but then on September 21 we were charged again for the three remaining nights we were not there. Over $900 I called the hotel again, and their response was, "We will get back to you." They haven't. So we didn't take the deal to remove the review, and now it appears they may have given the credit card company different information. I explained everything to the credit card company again today the representative said, " it sounds like they were trying to bribe you, and the charges are now back under review. read more

Yes, hotel canceled on us at the last minute leaving us stranded after hours of travel. We called and their reservations were handled by a Third World country, and they had no empathy, resolution, and said that they had double booked the room. This is unacceptable. read more

This is for the hotel room only. Very quaint setting in the redwoods along the Russian River. This inn has rooms in the main building and an annex, those rooms definitely are nicer and have letters for the rooms as opposed to numbers. The patio outdoor area along the river is definitely the gem of the place! It would be convenient if the bathrooms had an outlet so that you could use a hairdryer while looking in the mirror. Also a hook on the door to hang towels would also be good. We were in room 32 which had a full sized bed, a little on the small side. I think they should change out the mattress as this one was a tad lumpy. A small bedside table on both sides of the bed would have come in handy! The door that joined the other room was not soundproof, could hear the convo next door. Thank goodness for earplugs! I did like the complimentary Italian (still) mineral water and Kind bars. The room has a small fridge, wall heater and fan. Also has a knockoff brand Nescafé which is a welcome change from Keurig. You do have to walk up two sets of stairs to get to the rooms. The bar area is awesome however. Happy hour on Saturday is 5-7 and you can get classic cocktails for $10. Enjoyed a vodka martini along the river while writing in my journal in the sunshine. I would consider returning just for the outside area alone. The WiFi is strong and it would make for a nice escape to do some writing! Would probably get a different room however. read more

I stayed here recently for a little weekend getaway. The property: - Absolutely beautiful, right on the river. - Location is a bit secluded but I wanted that. - - -Lots of restaurants and bars within 10 minute drive. - Lots of outdoor seating to relax. - There is no longer a dock. - There is no longer a hot tub, was replaced by a mini pool which was not heated. - I definitely did not appreciate that they play outdoor music on speakers until after 10pm, it was super loud in my room. - Sadly the restaurant and speakeasy closed last minute due to staff emergency. I was all dressed up with no place to go. The room: - I was in River View Studio 26. Room was a decent size. Bathroom was TINY! If you sit on the toilet the sink is in your lap. The shower had no place to put my soaps and water took a really long time to heat. The windows do not have screens so just be aware of that when you leave windows open, the bugs will come ( to be expected given the location). - Mini fridge, coffee maker, seating area. - Room key is a code they email you. read more

You need to read the reviews before booking. My mistake. The hotel is horrible. No hot water, the heaters in the room are broken. The tv was broken and there is one person running the whole hotel. I can't rate the actual hotel or room because I needed to cancel my trip about 30 hours after I booked it on June 12th or an August stay. Unfortunately their refundable reservation time period ended on June 13rh (always read that fine print!). When I tried to call to see if there was anyway they could allow the cancellation because I was 5 hours only over the refundable option-- I couldn't get ahold off anyone in spite of hours being on hold and going around in circles with their AI agent, sending emails and having my travel points credit card call as welll. After separate attempts by my credit card company-- they were finally able to reach the hotel on my behalf on 7/24 -- only to be told that I was now well outside of the cancellation period and the reservation could not be cancelled. Shady business for a hotel that could easily have cancelled and rebooked the room with that much notice. read more

Boho Manor is a rundown, poorly maintained hotel with mold growth in the bathrooms, stained carpets, and warped entry doors. Also, the place is understaffed and those that do work there seem overwhelmed and poorly trained. The cost of the stay (which is significant) does not reflect the condition of the place. The cocktails were poorly made, and it seemed like many key ingredients were not stocked. I would avoid this place. read more

River is beautiful, dining room and bar were well decorated and fun, and server at dinner was wonderful. But they charged me online for activities that weren't happening that weekend--yoga, kayak rental--and promised a refund for weeks but never did it. Rooms could be nicer. read more

Beary LOVED his first vacation! The staff were so amazing to him and helpful in making our vacation perfect. While he's too big to lower into the kayak, he enjoyed watching from the dock, getting dinner at the hotel, the A/C in the room and all the hiking/exploring. Good-the menu is excellent. The food was very good. The concept of a Gatsby experience is brilliant. The singer had a great voice. The ambiance is fantastic. Not so great-the value Your execution does not match what you are hoping to deliver. When people come for a Gatsby experience , whether it's their own small group, or a large gathering, the service should deliver that. Instead, your wait staff are not trained in fine dining delivery. Some are over taxed with multiple duties and stretched thin to deliver the quality of service your guests expect. Charging anyone $25 for a singer and a backup music box is too much. For a trio that might be reasonable. Charging your dinner guests the full $25 is unacceptable. This place has great potential. The owners need to rethink their entertainment fees and provide more and better trained staff. This is not a burger joint on the river. read more

The service was a little disorganized but our server was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the food, especially the mushroom appetizer. From the get-go, this hotel was just about "online only." In other words, there were very few employees around at all when we were there. There was one lady there when we arrived who was busy and obviously angry unloading supplies. Many guests needed to talk to someone about getting into their room or something else. We had no problem getting into our room. Our room looked as if the cleaning person didn't finish her job. The room was okay, but the rug was in dire need of a cleaning. After we returned from going out to dinner, we could not access our room. I tried our code multiple times to no avail. I finally found a phone number to text, and she said that someone would come with a key and let us in. A half hour later we were in our room. Apparently, after you put your code on the lock, you were supposed to hit another button. Nowhere on any of the paperwork did it indicate that we had to do that. Long story short, we would not stay there again. read more

*** beware hotel is a scam*** I reserved a room fro Christmas Day, but upon my arrival, I encountered several issues: there was no hot water, no electricity, and the heaters were were not working. to make matters worse, the temperature outside was 30 degrees. At no time during my booking was I informed of any problems. Unsurprisingly, I chose to leave and find accommodations elsewhere. I was promised a credit for my troubles, but to this day, I have not received any confirmation of that credit, and I've been told that non will be issued and is non refundable. this situation is utterly ridiculous, and I cannot understand how this is considered acceptable. read more

We came from the bay for my husband's 50th bday dinner and left a bit disappointed. We waited nearly two hours for our food, and our child's simple noodles with butter and cheese arrived covered in garlic and parsley. My husband's drink came long after the other drinks, and one person's dinner entrée never showed up at all. No birthday treat or acknowledgment at the end either. The servers were kind but clearly stretched thin. Food was good once it arrived, but not the best spot for a special occasion. The outdoor patio where we were seated had termites and spiders, not making it the best ambience. With better management and some TLC, it could be great. read more

The historical location and beauty of this property alone is worth 3 stars and that's what I'm leaving because the rest of our experience was lackluster at best. We arrived for our 7:15 reservation for dinner last night, it was quite busy so we did have to wait at the hostess counter for almost 20 minutes. That was ok because we were chatting with other folks waiting and knew we wanted to see the show, so we could wait a little. Eventually we were seated outside to the far end of the patio, sort of jokingly once we sat my friend and I joked together we hope we don't get forgotten. Spoiler alert, we did. A kid was seated at the other table next to us about 1/2 way into us waiting for someone to come and acknowledge our table (drinks, water, anything). While we waited, a waiter came and took the kid's order and still didn't even acknowledge our table. By this point it was almost 8pm. We waited till 8, then got up and left. I was shocked when the waiter was right next to us and still ignored us and left to put in the kid's order but we were seated first, No one ever brought water, asked us if we had questions, nothing. It was like we weren't even in the dining patio. Here's my issue, when we walked inside my friends who got seated just before us as we walked in, not only did they have drinks, they had their food on the table! No one even knew we were sitting out there waiting. When I saw their table full of service, I just needed to get out of there. I was so upset. Earlier in the evening I had checked in on our reservation to ensure we were all good and Lorie who works there was initially quite abrasive about me checking on my reservation but she had called me the day before and while I had left a return call, I never heard back so I wanted to make sure everything was fine. She told me she had like 46 messages to return so likely I was one of them and if she waited long enough then it wouldn't matter cause the time would pass for the intended needed timeline. Um, what? It was a bizarre glance into her method of customer service. Fast forward to when we were seated, same gal from the front desk earlier that night was who seated us and told us she'd make sure someone knew we were there. Apparently no one knew we were there. When the kid who was seated after us got served while we continued to wait, we drew our line in the sand and gave up. As we were walking out through the patio and dining room to leave we could see the crowd had broken and many tables were now empty, the waiter was in the far corner chatting off to the side with some folks (not seated), the gal who sat us was chatting with folks in the dining room. It was so obvious no one gave a hoot. Really disappointed the night went down like it did. I go out to west county often and was excited to share this beautiful spot I didn't know existed with my guy for a future date experience but man now I'm just not sure. The location is amazing, but if service is going to be like that, then I'm just not sure. Such a shame. read more

We were at Boho Manor for an event and decided to eat at the restaurant. As we had appetizers at the event, we weren't really very hungry but wanted to split a meal. The restaurant area was small but nice and clean with great river views. We ordered the Caesar salad and fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. We all ordered water but it took a little while to get the water as we had to ask again. The salad and pasta also took a little time to receive them. The salad was good but had a little too much dressing otherwise was the standard Caesar salad you would expect. The fettuccine with shrimp was delicious. I would have liked a little more sauce on it but the other three people at our table loved it. We spoke to some other people we knew and they had also ordered the fettuccine with shrimp and loved it as well. When we finished, the waiter presented us with a bill never asking if we wanted dessert. (A missed opportunity as I LOVE desserts.) We asked him what they had and he mentioned Crème Brulee. We asked him how it was and he said, Yellow and burnt on top. Wow, that sounds appetizing. If he knew the desserts a little better, we would have been more inclined to order something but declined. The food was really good, the atmosphere was great but the service was lacking. We would try the restaurant again as we liked the Boho Manor and the area. If it wasn't so busy from the event, I would have rated it as a three-star but I take into account the totality of the experience and reasonable expectations. read more

A friend had recommended we come try Boho Manor and I'm glad we did. We initially called to make a reservation which almost made us turn away because of how poor the customer service was. The person took about 15 mins to get our basic info down and couldn't answer basic questions about the restaurant. We held on to the hope our friend had given us about this place and showed up without a reservation. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service Jason and Megan provided us with. We were a group of 5 and both were extremely welcoming and accommodating to our needs. The food itself was tasty too! Ordered the chicken parm dish, lamb chops, and rib eye. All were great dishes complimented by the incredible view of the river which made our night. read more

My husband and I came here a couple of weeks ago for our anniversary and we were very happy with our stay. Although our timing was off as heavy rain had just passed. We were unable to enjoy the river or any of the outdoor areas too much. I would love to try this place again during warmer weather. There was a small electrical problem in our room and they put us in a bigger room with no additional charge. Very kind of them as I'm pretty positive any other place would have tried to get some kind of up extra charge out of us even though it wasn't our fault. I appreciate the honesty and it's very refreshing! We ate at the restaurant twice and the food was amazing. The eggplant appetizer is something I'm going to be thinking about for a long time! Their cocktails are also delicious and just strong enough. It's a pretty small menu, but it makes it easy to get a taste of everything. Especially if you go more than once! I do feel like it might be little overpriced for what it is. However that seems to be true of the entire area so I can't really hold that against them. All in all, I was happy with our stay and I highly recommend it. We will be back here someday for sure! read more

We just left our stay and everything was amazing! We got away for a night and were able to stay in one of the rooms with a river view and balcony- worth it. We arrived a little early and were able to roam the beautiful grounds and sit and relax by the river for a bit before our room was ready... the staff was friendly, helpful, and lovely. So many beautiful and comfortable places to admire the river and take a nap. The room was great- dinner was delicious- and we can't wait to come back soon. read more

Loved the concept of feeling drawn into a scene from the Great Gatsby except its on the Russian River instead of Long Island. Came by in the afternoon with my dog to check it out and spend some time lounging on the lawn anticipating the meal to come. The main attraction as far as I am concerned was the beef wellington. All three of us got it. But first we shared the Caesar salad which was good although the server neglected to offer us any freshly ground cracked pepper. The beef wellington however it was outstanding. I haven't had it for decades and it's really hard to find. The beef was outstanding, perfectly cooked to a medium rare request. I shared a few bites with my dog and he was duly appreciative. It came with some delicious smashed potatoes and a few Spears of asparagus. We followed this up with an outrageous dessert which I would describe as a chocolate pecan bread pudding with ice cream and the little caramel sauce. I'm attaching a picture for your edification. None of us could withhold our admiration. My only criticism of this experience would be the fact that they provide cheap paper napkins which don't quite seem appropriate in the world of Gatsby read more

A nice location by the river in Monte Rio but our experience was a frustrating one. We arrived for Sunday brunch and sat for a long time without a server on what was described as a "busy" day but to us looked fairly mellow. We were told they were "too busy" to sit us outside (despite several empty tables on the patio when we arrived) but we were pretty patient because it's a small town and we were in a good mood to start. After 20 minutes of sitting with menus but without help, our party got restless, and I got up to ask if we could please put in coffee and our food order. Drinks came a soon after our order, fresh squeezed oj and coffee. Back on track. Then an hour into sitting without any server coming to the table (coffee did arrive, but was not refilled) we asked after our food order (which included two $28 crab Benedict orders) & were told they would check if the kitchen had "started on our orders" yet. At this point we panicked, since we were an hour into sitting, completely out of coffee, and had appointments and eventually a flight to catch for a visitor. When our waiter returned to say the kitchen hadn't started making our food because they were slammed, we opted to cut losses and offered to pay up. Thankfully, they took responsibility for the situation and covered our drinks, which was the right thing to do. I'm sharing the story, opting for three stars, & wishing them well as they work out the service kinks. It's notable that we didn't get the chance to eat here because of these service issues. read more

Beautiful setting! We ordered a Caesar salad, parm chicken scaloppini and salmon piccata. The Caesar was basic and good. I asked if the chef would be okay with a request to switch out the noodles in my scaloppini for mashed potatoes, and the server said of course he would (you never know if you're dealing with a Primadonna in the kitchen). The veggies were a well-prepared and visually pleasing selection of asparagus, green beans, and carrot. Both salmon and chicken were cooked perfectly. Our server seemed a little scattered. Although we did ask to be seated outside, we didn't realize that many of the seats had heating towers next to them. It got chilly during our meal, and we wished we had known sitting next to one was an option. read more

The location has recently changed hands and so it is still finding itself, but I loved the menus had a nice price range of dinner items. Not for vegetarians right now or gluten free folks yet. The crab cakes were light and very tasty, the Salmon was cooked perfectly as were the sides. The crème brûlée was large and delicious. My three negative comments: - for what is to be a classy and casual place, paper napkins is a no no. - the service was a little too prompt, asking if we would like to select dessert while we were still eating our main course. - Mixologist was new, and still finding his way That all said, good food, great location, and I would go back. read more

This is a fabulous little treasure I found in little vacation wonderland Rio Nido. This was the very first Holiday Inn and has kept its Gatsby look. A place where one transports back in time without sacrificing modern life style. Ambiance is casual yet fancy, customer service is excellent and I loved that the owners got to mingle with us. Food wise from what I got to taste it has a Hispanic twist to it so surely will not disappoint anyone as it has a variety to choose from and it's the perfect place to spend the weekend because the fun is endless and one can even take a swim in the beach that's overlooking the Hotel and backyard (Russian River) or just lounge in the fabulous and relaxing porch, sure feels like home away from home. At night enjoy the SpeakEasy bar and enjoy the fabulous variety cocktails they offer. My friends this is a 10 star Resort, please do stop by even if is just for dinner so that you can get a glimpse of what this treasure has to offer or invite your Honey for a romantic getaway. I would not recommend Boho Manor to anyone. I booked a room for the night of my wedding and my fiance is active duty military deployed in the Middle East. He notified me he won't be back for our wedding and that I needed to cancel any of our wedding plans for the foreseeable future because of the war. Boho Manor is charging us $75 to cancel our room and not offering a refund. I wouldn't support a business that doesn't support those fighting for our country. Please book at the neighboring hotel, Highland Dell Lodge. We had the entire hotel blocked for our wedding guests and Herb, the owner, was so kind and communicative. He had no problem refunding our $1,000 deposit and all the guests who booked! Meanwhile, I have spent a month sending messages back and forth with Boho Manor trying to have our $75 cancellation fee refunded. Also, we would have blocked rooms for our guest at Boho Manor, however their communication is so lacking we never got a follow up and I'm so thankful we didn't because just one room has been frustrating in an already difficult situation. read more

My two sister's birthday and we drove up to relax, we got Swedish massages which were nice but upon arriving, our rooms were hard to find and no one around to ask. Then dinner ‍ first, I asked for non-alcoholic wine and the waitress said I can give you a sample, I said great, she ended up bringing me an actual glass of REAL wine, my 11 year sober record right out the window, she apologized. Next we waited over an hour for half cooked food! I asked for medium well and got a RAW burger. By the way, they were out of 3 of the 7 things on their menu. I went to this great restaurant for one of Yelps events. It was an awesome place, tucked in at the quaint town of Monte Rio. I ate from the appetizer served. I understand the chef is known by CJ and I want to thank her m for the delicious apps he prepared for us. Thank you ! The ceviche was out of this world. The humus was flavourful and the fresh tortilla chips were delicious. The hamburger slider was fantastic. Korbel did the bubbly but that's a different review. Some of the folks ate at the restaurant and said that food was also delicious, namely the fettuccine. Lots of ways to eat and enjoy your visit here.
