Read a lot of mixed reviews on here, Google, and TripAdvisor but we were excited to check out Appellation Healdsburg for ourselves as a family of four staying mid-week. Beautiful new property, front desk/check in was welcoming but I do wish he would've went through all of the amenities that the hotel has to offer. The room itself is decent size, bottle of wine for purchase is offered in the room, large shower, comfortable bedding and pillows, temperature control was spot on and we didn't feel dried out when we woke up, we appreciated that there were four robes and sandals in the closet, safe, mini fridge, pour over coffee and tea and a decent sized patio. Pending the location of your room, you'll either get a view of the vineyards/hills or one of the pools. Even though you're right off the Hwy 101, the rooms were surprisingly quiet when everything was closed up. I saw in the morning they were power washing the pool deck and couldn't even hear it! Large common pool area that only goes up to 4 ft deep, along with a big 12+ person hot tub. Plenty of places to lay out (can't speak for the weekend crowds). One of the days, there was one hotel staff walking around asking if we needed drinks, snacks, etc. The next day, no staff was anywhere to be found. The availability of clean towels were inconsistent and witness other guests were left 15-30 min without towels. While there's a water fountain and bathrooms available, there were no water bottle refill stations. We did dine at Folia Tuesday evening and the restaurant was packed, despite a really limited menu. The cheeseburger was the star though!!! Cocktails were delicious and there's a decent amount of wine offered on their menu. A sommelier did come by and asked us if we wanted any recommendations for wine, but she never came back to our table after we had placed our food order. Our server looked a bit frazzled too with how many tables he was tending to. Again, beautiful property in the day time and in the evenings... lots of fire pits to set up next to and have a bottle of wine and good conversation with your partner/family. We didn't have time to check out the adult pool, gym or the steam room on property. Not sure what else this hotel has to offer since nobody shared any additional information with us. While they pride themselves as dog friendly, when I called and inquired about it, we were told dogs were not allowed to be unattended in the room, not allowed at the restaurant nor the pool areas so yes, you can bring your pet and stay at the hotel, but you can't leave your pet in the room and enjoy any of the amenities.

Had a wonderful one night stay. The grounds were stunning! The pool was refreshing, and the drinks were delicious. Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. We visited the beeline rooftop at sunset, which had amazing vineyard views. I loved the interior, velvet couches and chairs, the lighting, and especially the bar, which housed glass bottles on the wall up an arch over our heads. There were plentiful seating options around the resort along with a large event hall, maker and artisan classrooms, a spa, gym, and a fine dining restaurant. We did not have a chance to dine or visit the spa, but we plan to on our next stay! Definitely recommend this resort!

Nestled along the hillside, the hotel is a stunning sight. It's located at the very back of a small complex, offering a serene and secluded atmosphere. The hotel boasts two inviting pools, a wellness center, an event center, a delightful restaurant, and a chic rooftop bar. The rooms are equally breathtaking, each with its own unique view of the pool. Depending on the room's orientation, guests can enjoy drinks and snacks while lounging by the pool.

The paper towel roll they sent to our room

Stayed at the Appellation during the Valentine's Day weekend. Arrived to a beautiful but bare 1 bedroom king suite with a kitchenette. It is advertised as a kitchen with essential pantry items but there were no food items in the room and fridge had no snacks just 4 cans of water. The room features a kitchen with an induction cooktop and a fridge with an ice maker however there are no pots to use, no paper towels, no kitchen towels and no dish soap and the ice maker wasn't even hooked up. It wasn't until we complained to the front desk that they acknowledged that ice and snacks should've been explained at check in...we stayed 3 nights but never received the kitchen towels (they sent us an industrial roll of paper towels that are used in restrooms). I do want to commend TJ, an assistant manager, who helped smooth over some of these issues and helped to remedy the others. Appellation: please tell your guests that the ice maker doesn't work so please call for room service. Please tell your guests not to expect a mini fridge of snacks and hand them those snack menus to order from room service. Please, at the minimum, place kitchen towels and dish soap in your kitchen suites! Yes, the savory amuse bouche offered at check in is delicious but there was nothing at turn down service (no chocolate, no cookie). I was expecting a little more from a hotel that flaunts Charlie Palmer's name.

Stayed at appellation for a few nights to celebrate my husband's birthday. Totally new hotel that we discovered by accident. The property is beautiful and brand new. The Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was perfect. Bed was comfortable. No big complaints at all. We had cocktails up on the roof top, Super well made and perfect. The grounds were peaceful and quiet. We were located very close to downtown healdsburg. And the hotel offered a complementary shuttle. Great stay especially for a special occasion. The pool , hot tub and gym were beautiful as well.

Very pretty restaurant but so overpriced. Would be great if they had a happy hour. And the parking is horrible.

The chef is very creative and original. We shared a few appetizers, the tuna crudo was very different and very delicious but they're homemade pasta was quite inventive and really outstanding. Our dinner entrees were excellent we had the pork and the halibut entree but truthfully the dessert that we finished with was out of this world quite excellent. The name of that dessert was simply a strawberry and rhubarb dessert and the name didn't do it justice because it was very different very special very delicious we probably could have eaten that for the entire night because it was so good.. unexpected. Definitely would recommend coming to this beautiful spot

The man can truly cook. We've tried a variety of his dishes, and each one shows such intention, from the flavor profiles to the textures; and everything is always beautifully presented. It never misses. His congee is absolutely to die for, and those thinly sliced pork pieces with crisped skin and tender, juicy meat are a standout every single time. Check out that pic of burger he made for us for burger week! You can really taste the quality, especially knowing he uses fresh vegetables straight from the garden on the property. That is farm-to-table at its finest. On one of our visits, we stayed in a suite above the restaurant, which made the whole experience even more special. It was so nice to head upstairs after dinner and fully relax in our own space. Our room was stocked with thoughtful treats upon arrival, and we had access to the most beautiful private gym. The pool area is stunning, and we loved riding the bikes they provide to explore the property. I would absolutely stay here again. Everywhere you go, there's curated art to enjoy, which adds such a unique and elevated touch. They also host special events throughout the year. We especially love their summer movie nights, lounging on the lawn with fresh popcorn, wine, and Red Vines is such a vibe. All in all, our experience started with the restaurant and kept us coming back for more. It's made even more special by the team, who consistently make us feel so welcomed every time we visit. Thank you for always spoiling us, Chef. We are so grateful for you. Your talent and skill truly shine, and The Madrona is lucky to have you. See you again soon!

Our experience here was phenomenal from start to finish. I can only surmise that the negative…read morereviews are from folks who (a.) spent more than they could comfortably afford; (b.) have unsophisticated palates; or (c.) happened to visit on an off night (which from what we encountered seems almost unimaginable). It's true that one could purchase a serviceable used car for what it costs to dine for two when including basic wine pairings. If dropping $2k on dinner and wine seems like an absurd or rapacious proposition, SingleThread certainly isn't for you. If on the other hand it seems like a rounding error or a perfectly reasonable leisure tariff, you're probably going to love every last minute of it. Because the meal was so elaborate, I won't go into detail other than to say it was brilliant. Out of the dozens (literally) of dishes we sampled, only one was poor; it had clearly been over-salted by accident. Otherwise, every moment of the evening was pure, flawless bliss. One thing that I could be persuaded to agree with is that the overall volume of food is a tad too much. They could easily do with one less savory dish and the elimination of the second round of desserts. As it stands, I walked out feeling somewhat uncomfortably full. First world problems though, right? All things considered, SingleThread is a grand slam home run in nearly every respect. And that includes the warm and highly attentive service, the lovely interior architecture, and the welcoming rooftop garden. I will not hesitate to recommend this amazing culinary oasis to friends and family for a long time to come.

The breakfast service and food was incredible and we loved having our coffee delivered earlier (and then more coffee at breakfast time). The wine happy hour with lots of wine options and our own veggie and dips platter was delicious and fun too. We met other great guests and loved our stay. We'd also walk to downtown for meals and exploring which was a great walk and most of the exercise I got on this vacation... While we were there and planning our next trip back, we heard that they're unfortunately closing for 6+ months in 2025 since they have new owners. I really hope the same charm and all the special detail comes back to this spot when they re-open (and hope they're not closed for long!)!
