The paper towel roll they sent to our room

Stayed at the Appellation during the Valentine's Day weekend. Arrived to a beautiful but bare 1 bedroom king suite with a kitchenette. It is advertised as a kitchen with essential pantry items but there were no food items in the room and fridge had no snacks just 4 cans of water. The room features a kitchen with an induction cooktop and a fridge with an ice maker however there are no pots to use, no paper towels, no kitchen towels and no dish soap and the ice maker wasn't even hooked up. It wasn't until we complained to the front desk that they acknowledged that ice and snacks should've been explained at check in...we stayed 3 nights but never received the kitchen towels (they sent us an industrial roll of paper towels that are used in restrooms). I do want to commend TJ, an assistant manager, who helped smooth over some of these issues and helped to remedy the others. Appellation: please tell your guests that the ice maker doesn't work so please call for room service. Please tell your guests not to expect a mini fridge of snacks and hand them those snack menus to order from room service. Please, at the minimum, place kitchen towels and dish soap in your kitchen suites! Yes, the savory amuse bouche offered at check in is delicious but there was nothing at turn down service (no chocolate, no cookie). I was expecting a little more from a hotel that flaunts Charlie Palmer's name.

Very pretty restaurant but so overpriced. Would be great if they had a happy hour. And the parking is horrible.

The man can truly cook. We've tried a variety of his dishes, and each one shows such intention, from the flavor profiles to the textures; and everything is always beautifully presented. It never misses. His congee is absolutely to die for, and those thinly sliced pork pieces with crisped skin and tender, juicy meat are a standout every single time. Check out that pic of burger he made for us for burger week! You can really taste the quality, especially knowing he uses fresh vegetables straight from the garden on the property. That is farm-to-table at its finest. On one of our visits, we stayed in a suite above the restaurant, which made the whole experience even more special. It was so nice to head upstairs after dinner and fully relax in our own space. Our room was stocked with thoughtful treats upon arrival, and we had access to the most beautiful private gym. The pool area is stunning, and we loved riding the bikes they provide to explore the property. I would absolutely stay here again. Everywhere you go, there's curated art to enjoy, which adds such a unique and elevated touch. They also host special events throughout the year. We especially love their summer movie nights, lounging on the lawn with fresh popcorn, wine, and Red Vines is such a vibe. All in all, our experience started with the restaurant and kept us coming back for more. It's made even more special by the team, who consistently make us feel so welcomed every time we visit. Thank you for always spoiling us, Chef. We are so grateful for you. Your talent and skill truly shine, and The Madrona is lucky to have you. See you again soon!

The service was friendly and attentive at every turn--from the front desk person to the hostess to our waiter, all were excellent. The hotel is beautiful, well kept, and tastefully decorated. Prices are a bit on the high side, but that's what I expect from a hotel restaurant, especially in Healdsburg. We will be back!

From the very beginning of the meal, there was a clear sense of precision, elegance, and intention. The opening presentation was stunning, filled with an assortment of beautifully composed small bites featuring oyster, mushroom, sea bream, and a variety of other seasonal ingredients. Each bite felt delicate yet purposeful, showcasing both technical refinement and remarkable balance. One of the most memorable dishes of the evening was the bluefin tuna moriawase paired with strawberries. Normally, fruit in savory dishes tends to feel distracting or overly sweet to me, but the execution here was exceptional. The chefs managed to create a harmony between sweetness, tartness, acidity, and umami that elevated the tuna rather than overshadowing it. It was a dish that felt thoughtful, restrained, and incredibly well composed. The consistency throughout the progression of the menu was equally impressive. Course after course arrived with meticulous presentation and a strong sense of identity. Every dish felt polished and intentional, balancing visual artistry with flavors that were equally compelling. There was never a moment where the meal lost momentum, and the pacing allowed each course to feel distinct while still contributing to a cohesive experience. That said, there was one course that completely missed the mark for our group. The milk and honey dessert, which resembled a sponge cake topped with a whipped goat cheese foam, was overwhelmingly pungent and difficult to approach as a dessert course. The intensity of the goat cheese dominated every other component, to the point where it felt less like a composed dessert and more like being punched by a goat farm. Looking around the dining room, it seemed we were not alone in our reaction. Interestingly, when we mentioned that this was the only dish we did not enjoy, we were told, "if at least 1 out of 10 guests enjoy it, we consider it a win." It was certainly an unexpected response, especially given how polished and thoughtful the rest of the experience had been. Even with that misstep, the overall meal was exceptional. SingleThread succeeds in delivering a dining experience that feels elegant, immersive, and deeply personal. Between the artistry of the presentations, the balance of flavors, and the technical execution across the menu, it remains one of the most impressive three Michelin star experiences in California.

Since I was just in Paris for 15 days, I booked this upon my return so that I could experience the American version of perfection. It is mind blowing how good it is here. Every course and every moment ... feels special and delicious. Americans have definitely enhanced the lifestyle experience. I know I like it in France... and I love it here at home! Maybe a bit more! I'm so proud that this is in our neighborhood. Feeling so blessed in this moment. Grateful for Chef who really makes a difference and really makes something special to remember forever. There were amenities including a gym, pool, and spa. We didn't get to try the restaurant. While the hotel was nice, the price does leave something to be desired. The hotel charges premium prices comparable to what you'd pay for many upscale hotels but did not quite hit the mark. Again, it was a nice hotel but not nearly at the level of premium level hotels like Ritz or Park Hyatt. We really enjoyed our stay here but I'm not sure I'd stay again at the current price point. Unfortunately I was unable to get the upgrade my credit card promoted. We ended up in room 225. The room itself smelled really nice, like essential oils but it was freezing! Our view was of a building and the local park that houses what appeared to be the local drunks and homeless. One guy had a barking dog that he let, bark, bark and bark. The room was relatively quiet during the night but in the morning it was very noisy with slamming doors and people talking. We are big coffee people and noticed we had only 1 caffeinated pod for the machine. We asked house keeping for more and she rudely said she could only give us 1 or 2 pods. Well, alrighty then. I declined and dealt with the lack of pods, elsewhere. I guess my biggest issue was her rude attitude. Sheesh like she was buying the pods for us. There was a lack of toilet paper, facial tissues, wash cloths and hand towels. Made me wonder if the hotel was struggling financially and have to cut back on simple amenities that makes a difference to travelers like us. The location is great and very walkable. There are plant to little spaces spewed throughout to sit and enjoy. The pool looked nice. The bartender, Javier, was a gem and the music in the lobby was very good. We had the olives and nuts. We did not enjoy either yet we were charged $22 plus tip for those. The French fries were good. Make sure to ask for crispy if you don't like flimsy fries. We did not use our breakfast voucher which was a weird setup. They make you ask for the full menu and then order. Cutoff is 10am, which is early. Maybe tomorrow. We still have one more night here so will update more tomorrow.

We'd also walk to downtown for meals and exploring which was a great walk and most of the exercise I got on this vacation... While we were there and planning our next trip back, we heard that they're unfortunately closing for 6+ months in 2025 since they have new owners. They also serve warm chocolate chip cookies. This is an incredible to meet new people. Each night we had stimulating conversation with guests who traveled far and wide. We were late for dinner both nights because of the great discussions we had. Briana was the manager on site and she is incredible! She needs to teach a master class on hospitality. The River Belle Inn goes above and beyond to create an experience you will remember and talk about for awhile. Looking forward to our next visit to River Belle Inn.

From the moment I booked the place, everything has been so wonderfully smooth. Stuart and Holly who manage the place were ultra accommodating and helpful. They thoughtfully greeted us in the private parking lot when we pulled up. For our small group, I went with the 3 BR/3 BA suite. Allowing our baby his own crib in his own room was really nice. This allowed the rest of our party to chill out and relax in the living room and kitchen areas when the little guy needed to get some ZZZZZs. The suite itself is absolutely amazing. There is a really modern feel to the space. Little cool touches are everywhere. A perfect example is how each room in the suite can fully individualize the temp with its own Nest thermostat. For your viewing pleasure, there is a Blu-ray equipped, giant flat-screen TV in the comfy living room. Each bedroom also has its own flat-screen TV that magically appears from the foot of your bed with the push of a remote..so cool. The full kitchen and dining area are well-appointed with high-end gas range/oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, full-size fridge and Keurig coffee maker. There is even a full-size washer and dryer to add further convenience. Linens and toiletries are all top-notch. We really enjoyed the large soaking tub with the adjacent gigantic dual-shower room (yes, the shower is like a 5' x 8' space). Probably the best thing about Two Thirty-Five is location, location, location. This place is situated right in the heart of downtown Healdsburg. Spots like Partake, Cafe Lucia and La Crema are literally footsteps away in the same complex. A whole host of other wonderful spots are within a 5 min walk. Since checking in a few days ago, we have had the chance to really get a taste of the downtown area. Among the walking-distance must tries we've discovered: -Bravas Bar de Tapas -Shed -Moustache Baked Goods (crazy good cupcakes) -Flying Goat Coffee -Downtown Bakery & Creamery -Cafe Lucia -Wurst (awesome hot dogs/burgers) -Williamson Wines (free tasting paired with nice cheese bites) -Chalkboard -Partake -La Crema WInes -Cartograph Wines With a couple more days to go, we can't wait to sample even more of the local flavor. All in all, Healdsburg is an amazing place to eat, drink and just relax with good company. Two Thirty-Five effortlessly facilitates all of this. We definitely will plan to stay here again (& again)!
