We loved this wonderful hotel! We were celebrating our anniversary and there was a lovely handwritten note left for us in the room. We had a bungalow room, and it was wonderful! A small private patio off to the side, a sitting room, bedroom with another sitting area with a working fireplace. So cozy and romantic. All the decor was lovely, unique and high-end. The bathroom was large and it had heated floors! Also a jacuzzi tub, and a shower with good pressure. Breakfast was included, sort of an expanded continental breakfast with a different hot dish included each day, along with coffee, juices, yogurt and small breakfast pastries. Everyone was so pleasant too. We were greeted with a glass of champagne from the nearby Orsi vineyards. (You can have a 2 for 1 tasting as a hotel guest.) Charles, the maitre d was so welcoming and helpful. Joe helped with parking & bags. We absolutely loved our stay, and looking forward to visiting again.

Seared Salmon- nicely plated but overcooked.

Beautiful property and grounds. The house had a charming character. The hotel staff declined our request to see a sample room as we were leaving the property. This was a missed opportunity by the staff as we were considering it for a small corporate team's multi-day meeting. We should have known better given the lack of attention to details during the meal. Despite noting in the reservations that we were celebrating a birthday and mentioned to the restaurant host and waitstaff, there were no special efforts to recognize the celebration. Not even a candle on the donut holes with our bottle of sparkling.... The brunch food was good enough, nothing stood out. The seared salmon was overcooked.

What a fun eclectic place. In all the years I've lived here, i hadn't been yet but a gal pal and I decided to check it out. Fun funky atmosphere. Had a cocktail and a few nibblies. Excellent service in the front lounge. Great view from the porch. A fun afternoon - highly recommended. (do we aware of the extra misc charges though - see receipt)

Amazing experience, the madrona is connected to the madrona hotel. Beautiful hidden spot. Excellent food, drinks, ambiance, and aesthetic. Prepare to spend, it is a luxury experience. And, the wait staff is incredible. My drinks were all topped off. Love it! seems like a great place for a wedding

Winding up the drive. So pretty!

On July 4 2025 I had one of the best meals I've ever had. This was my first time at the Madrona, and the entrance gate charmed me from the get go. We wound up the driveway and the gracious main building came into view. I felt like I was invited to a fancy party at someone's summer mansion. I immediately made a not to check hotel prices--located just a few miles outside of Healdsburg proper, it's the perfect mix of "close" and "away." Onto our meal. Cocktails/mocktails: we ordered a variety, and all were sublime. You really can't go wrong. I can't even recommend one over another. We started with warm rolls--subbing butter for the chicken schmaltz--and the almost crispy tops of the rolls contrasted with the soft, piping hot middles. A smattering of flakey salt made each bite perfect. The tempura is almost a tempura pancake--the individual vegetable are coated and fried and then sort of melded into a crispy disc. How can each piece be distinctly flavorful but also complementary?! My rock cod looked a bit watery. Then I tasted the broth, and it would have stood on its own as a brothy soup. Is that a hint of coconut? The dish was completed with both peas and pea sprouts, and they provided a crisp counterpoint to the tender fish. Truly a delight. We were too full dessert...or were we? Sharing a seared peaches-and-cream dessert was just the thing. Im a sucker for a warm-and/cold dessert, and this one was delicious. A few bites and then we really were done. Exiting the building, there was a popping sound, and we watched the fireworks from Healdsburg from the porch for a bit. Could not have been a nice evening. PS shoutout to the outstanding staff, everyone was friendly and professional. Plates and silverware were changed between course in a quiet way. Skylar was extraordinarily nice and was so informative when we had questions about food. The host was warm and made us feel like we were repeat and welcome customers (and we are sure to become repeat customers). Thank you, all!

From the very beginning of the meal, there was a clear sense of precision, elegance, and intention. The opening presentation was stunning, filled with an assortment of beautifully composed small bites featuring oyster, mushroom, sea bream, and a variety of other seasonal ingredients. Each bite felt delicate yet purposeful, showcasing both technical refinement and remarkable balance. One of the most memorable dishes of the evening was the bluefin tuna moriawase paired with strawberries. Normally, fruit in savory dishes tends to feel distracting or overly sweet to me, but the execution here was exceptional. The chefs managed to create a harmony between sweetness, tartness, acidity, and umami that elevated the tuna rather than overshadowing it. It was a dish that felt thoughtful, restrained, and incredibly well composed. The consistency throughout the progression of the menu was equally impressive. Course after course arrived with meticulous presentation and a strong sense of identity. Every dish felt polished and intentional, balancing visual artistry with flavors that were equally compelling. There was never a moment where the meal lost momentum, and the pacing allowed each course to feel distinct while still contributing to a cohesive experience. That said, there was one course that completely missed the mark for our group. The milk and honey dessert, which resembled a sponge cake topped with a whipped goat cheese foam, was overwhelmingly pungent and difficult to approach as a dessert course. The intensity of the goat cheese dominated every other component, to the point where it felt less like a composed dessert and more like being punched by a goat farm. Looking around the dining room, it seemed we were not alone in our reaction. Interestingly, when we mentioned that this was the only dish we did not enjoy, we were told, "if at least 1 out of 10 guests enjoy it, we consider it a win." It was certainly an unexpected response, especially given how polished and thoughtful the rest of the experience had been. Even with that misstep, the overall meal was exceptional. SingleThread succeeds in delivering a dining experience that feels elegant, immersive, and deeply personal. Between the artistry of the presentations, the balance of flavors, and the technical execution across the menu, it remains one of the most impressive three Michelin star experiences in California.

There were amenities including a gym, pool, and spa. We didn't get to try the restaurant. While the hotel was nice, the price does leave something to be desired. Unfortunately I was unable to get the upgrade my credit card promoted. We ended up in room 225. The room itself smelled really nice, like essential oils but it was freezing! Our view was of a building and the local park that houses what appeared to be the local drunks and homeless. One guy had a barking dog that he let, bark, bark and bark. The room was relatively quiet during the night but in the morning it was very noisy with slamming doors and people talking. We are big coffee people and noticed we had only 1 caffeinated pod for the machine. We asked house keeping for more and she rudely said she could only give us 1 or 2 pods. Well, alrighty then. I declined and dealt with the lack of pods, elsewhere. I guess my biggest issue was her rude attitude. Sheesh like she was buying the pods for us. There was a lack of toilet paper, facial tissues, wash cloths and hand towels. Made me wonder if the hotel was struggling financially and have to cut back on simple amenities that makes a difference to travelers like us. The location is great and very walkable. There are plant to little spaces spewed throughout to sit and enjoy. The pool looked nice. The bartender, Javier, was a gem and the music in the lobby was very good. We had the olives and nuts. We did not enjoy either yet we were charged $22 plus tip for those. The French fries were good. Make sure to ask for crispy if you don't like flimsy fries. We did not use our breakfast voucher which was a weird setup. They make you ask for the full menu and then order. Cutoff is 10am, which is early. Maybe tomorrow. We still have one more night here so will update more tomorrow.
