Hubby surprised me with a weekend stay at the Stayed at the Vineyard Inn Suite 3 for my birthday. I've stayed in other places in the wine country in this price range and I must say comparatively, it was PERFECT. I love the feeling of waking up for breakfast and dining with other people in a sunny, homey dining room with gourmet breakfast... the downside of this is usually a B&B that has thin walls where you have to stuff your face into the pillow and be a little less wild..I know, tmi. These Suites provide such privacy in a romantic setting- it's a great time to relax and just be. Loved: 1. The fact that my husband and I could play tennis and basketball (and I won!) in our swimsuits and get a tan! There's only 13 rooms yet a pristine croquet, put put, bocce ball, tennis, and basketball area for couples to goof around in. 2. The private jacuzzi tub on our patio with candles.. need I say more? 3. The girl that worked the phone who was very understanding (we made a res. for massage, cancelled it, remade it, cancelled it, remade it last minute). and was just as great in person during breakfast. Sorry I forgot your name! 4. Breakfast for the most part is great. The french toast was a little over cooked and tough, but the egg dish and the ham were great. 5. Super close to Cyrus. Could walk there in 10 min. (we however did not, since it's a bit harder with 4in high heels) 6. Massages were right on. Not the 'floofy' massages you get at some resorts. Nice and hard =)

From the very beginning of the meal, there was a clear sense of precision, elegance, and intention. The opening presentation was stunning, filled with an assortment of beautifully composed small bites featuring oyster, mushroom, sea bream, and a variety of other seasonal ingredients. Each bite felt delicate yet purposeful, showcasing both technical refinement and remarkable balance. One of the most memorable dishes of the evening was the bluefin tuna moriawase paired with strawberries. Normally, fruit in savory dishes tends to feel distracting or overly sweet to me, but the execution here was exceptional. The chefs managed to create a harmony between sweetness, tartness, acidity, and umami that elevated the tuna rather than overshadowing it. It was a dish that felt thoughtful, restrained, and incredibly well composed. The consistency throughout the progression of the menu was equally impressive. Course after course arrived with meticulous presentation and a strong sense of identity. Every dish felt polished and intentional, balancing visual artistry with flavors that were equally compelling. There was never a moment where the meal lost momentum, and the pacing allowed each course to feel distinct while still contributing to a cohesive experience. That said, there was one course that completely missed the mark for our group. The milk and honey dessert, which resembled a sponge cake topped with a whipped goat cheese foam, was overwhelmingly pungent and difficult to approach as a dessert course. The intensity of the goat cheese dominated every other component, to the point where it felt less like a composed dessert and more like being punched by a goat farm. Looking around the dining room, it seemed we were not alone in our reaction. Interestingly, when we mentioned that this was the only dish we did not enjoy, we were told, "if at least 1 out of 10 guests enjoy it, we consider it a win." It was certainly an unexpected response, especially given how polished and thoughtful the rest of the experience had been. Even with that misstep, the overall meal was exceptional. SingleThread succeeds in delivering a dining experience that feels elegant, immersive, and deeply personal. Between the artistry of the presentations, the balance of flavors, and the technical execution across the menu, it remains one of the most impressive three Michelin star experiences in California.

Every course and every moment ... feels special and delicious. Americans have definitely enhanced the lifestyle experience. I know I like it in France... and I love it here at home! Maybe a bit more! We'd also walk to downtown for meals and exploring which was a great walk and most of the exercise I got on this vacation... The menu selection is extensive and generous. Every evening there is a happy hour with a great selection of local wine and a snack platter that is delightful! They also serve warm chocolate chip cookies. This is an incredible to meet new people. Each night we had stimulating conversation with guests who traveled far and wide. We were late for dinner both nights because of the great discussions we had. Briana was the manager on site and she is incredible! She needs to teach a master class on hospitality. This Inn is walking distance to downtown which is what drew us to this location. Ve was our host and she was very nice and gave us a short tour around the place. I was confused because we were told we could use the heated pool and then, when we went to go use it, there were multiple signs saying it's closed. The walls are thin, you can hear everything occurring in the hallway. Our room needed love. There was lots of dust build up, the television was extremely small, and the bed frame was very flimsy. The mattress was also quite hard and it was difficult to sleep throughout the night. I was looking forward to the speakeasy but it was closed throughout our stay. I'm not sure if it's closed for good or just wasn't open when I was there. There was no information given about it. We went out and came back to the Inn around 8 pm, there was an empty bottle of wine and dirty glasses sitting around the entrance area. I'm not sure if that was due to available tastings at the Inn or if someone just left it out because we were not informed of tasting offerings at the Inn. Breakfast was served between 8-10 and it was soggy French toast, warm yogurt and room temperature orange juice. All in all, I would not stay here again and I would choose to stay farther away at a nicer place.

We had booked one of the more expensive rooms, but it was located outside and far from the main house. We had to walk in the rain to get there, and no umbrellas were provided even though the bad weather was expected. Inside the room, the curtains were too short and let light through. The bathroom had no place to sit or store anything, and the toilet was loose. The shower water pressure was extremely weak. There was also no real place to store clothes--just a few hangers, no dresser or cabinet. The bed was comfortable, which was one of the few positives, but it didn't make up for the many issues. The internet never worked the entire time we were there. When I mentioned it to staff, they said they knew it had been down but didn't do anything because "no one else complained." The breakfast was just okay. When I asked for a little more food, I was told they didn't have any extra and that they only prepare a fixed amount. The walking entrance off the street not safe--uneven pavement with poor lighting at night, which made it hard to walk. I even tripped a couple of times. The main entrance had plastic sheets hanging down to block rain, making it look like a construction site. There was no railing on the stairs, and you had to hold the heavy plastic to get through. For the price, it was absolutely not worth it. I really expected a much better experience given the cost and reputation of the property.

Check out that pic of burger he made for us for burger week! You can really taste the quality, especially knowing he uses fresh vegetables straight from the garden on the property. That is farm-to-table at its finest. On one of our visits, we stayed in a suite above the restaurant, which made the whole experience even more special. It was so nice to head upstairs after dinner and fully relax in our own space. Our room was stocked with thoughtful treats upon arrival, and we had access to the most beautiful private gym.
