If you are looking for a one of a kind trip to wine country..then this is where you need to start... Pearlessence Bed & Breakfast is more than anything you'd expect from your regular run of the mill inns. It is absolutely divine...the perfect place to experience wine country and relaxation.... Finding the place after the sun had set proved to be a bit tricky..it is out there people..way out there...where streetlights don't go. We were a little nervous about being so far out in the country at first...but as soon as we pulled up the long drive to the wide open space in back, we were instantly relieved by the beauty and the peacefulness of it all. We parked...right next to a vineyard. The air was crisp and clean and fresh, and I could not take my eyes off of the blanket of stars above. It had been too long since I had seen a sky like that... Linda and Greg met us outside with big, warm, welcoming smiles. They showed us around the room...all of the hidden treasures. OK...let me tell you about the room. It's pretty brand new. There is only one room with a king size bed and a pull out sofa. The bed is heated. That's right. It has a little dial on both sides to heat the bed. The beautiful slate floors...are heated. Not a typo. They are heated!! There is a beautiful gas fireplace controlled by a remote...a rainfall shower for two...I mean. I could go on and on. This place is where it's at you guys. seriously. Really romantic. Out the window...you can view a Field of grapevines in the morning while you pick up a basket filled with local apple juice, pastries, salmon, french press coffee..you name it...it's in there. I cannot tell you how much we adored Greg and Linda. They are incredibly welcoming, full of great information concerning wine, the area, etc. And...they totally respect your privacy. You don't have to worry about constantly running in to them, or feeling uncomfortable around them...they know how long to stay..and they know when to leave. In fact, we enjoyed their company so much, we wished we would have spent more time with them. I really liked the location of the place. You could, in three days, see a lot of Napa, Sonoma, and my personal favorite Russian River/Dry Creek Valley. I chose Pearlessance River Inn as our B&B while planning my tour de pour through Sonoma County. We've done wine country every other year so we wanted to flavor Sonoma's beer offerings as supposed to Napa's wines. Lagunitas, Russian River and Bear Republic were all the must hit breweries on our trip. I called Linda a few weeks in advance and got us a two nighter. I mapped everything out in advance and Sebastopol was a great location in between the breweries. Linda was professional and very accommodating as she suggested other local microbreweries that we can try. When we drove through Sebastopol, we noticed tons of vintage shops. My wife was in heaven! I'm there for the booze and apparently she's there for the old knick knacks! Whatever makes her happy right? Anyhoo, we arrived at Pearlessance around 6:00 p.m. and was immediately captivated by the colors of the leaves from the vines. Who knew that a B&B was tucked in the middle of an actual vineyard right? Greg greeted us and gave us a tour of the property. Before he left us alone, he asked what time we would like breakfast. We told him around 10 the next morning. At exactly 10 the next morning, we woke up to a light knock on our door with breakfast piping hot on our porch. We had a blast touring all of the breweries and buying vintage crap! We bought so much that we couldn't fit all of it in our lil Prius on our way home. Growlers of craft beer is definitely a priority to bring back to the Bay Area. We asked Greg if could leave this big wooden mirror that we bought until a later weekend and he was so gracious enough to keep it there for us. We came back as promised and Greg even helped us strapped the big wooden mirror onto the roof of our SUV. We had a wonderful experience at Pearlessance River Inn from the beginning to the end! We've stayed at a lot of B&Bs in the past and this is our favorite by a long mile. The single room makes it so intimate. I don't necessary enjoy waking up and eating breakfast with 10 other couples like it's a dining hall. Breakfast is brought to your room and hell, you could even eat breakfast naked if you wanted too! Don't hesitate! If you're reading this, don't waste your time looking at other places. read more

This was the best weekend I've ever had! And a big thanks to Mr and Ms Pearl!!! I planned a weekend for my now fiancé and myself to celebrate our moving forward in our life together. Everything they did was just perfectly special. The breakfast was the best and the beautiful land and knowledge of it and wine made for a great wine tasting!!! They even went above and beyond. Linda and Gary Pearl may be the nicest people I have met in a VERY long time. Their hospitality was a wonderful surprise. Drinking wine and eating cheese with them on the back deck was great way to pass some time. I recommend going to the inn just to meet them. The website for the inn is beautiful too - check it out pearlessenceinn.com The only thing I was surprised about is that the room is attached to their home - there is a separate entrance, and everything is very private - I just wasn't expecting that - I thought it was going to be a cottage. Everything in the room was top notch, high class and first rate. They have paid attention to the details and it really shows. There is a beautiful fireplace, nice flat screen tv, mini bar, and beautiful bathroom. Even the soaps are high quality - from sumbody - one of my favorite spas. Turned out that we forgot our toothbrushes and toothpaste, we were getting ready to go to the local drugstore, when we saw that there was a little basket of sundries, including an extra toothbrush and mini toothpaste. They thought of everything!!! I haven't even gotten to the fantastic sheets that are on the bed - I would have stayed in bed all day if I could! Oh and the towels in the bathroom were so soft and smelled so good!! The two things that stops me from rating this 5 stars is that is was a little away from sebastopol (only 10 min or so) but it would have been nice to go for a walk first thing in the morning or later at night (the sky was so beautiful) without worrying about the badgers. The second thing, I would have just liked to know the room was attached to the house (but again VERY private - it was only my original reaction). If I could give this place 4.5 I would. Exceptional B&B with astute attention to detail. If you are traveling to Sonoma county/Sonoma coast hopefully you can get the room at Pearlessence. The private-entrance room is surrounded by a small pond and fire pit outside of the front door, and vineyard on all other sides. The room has heated floors, heated bed, and fireplace for those cool Northern Cali nights. The shower is wheelchair accessible with both an overhead rainfall shower and angled hosed shower head. There is a small refrigerator with space for your food and complimentary small bottles of the house red and white (made at the B&B) and healthy dried fruit snacks packaged by the owners. There is also free wifi so you can plan you tasting trip. I was very impressed by the attention to detail, which outshines much larger hotels. The level of comfort is unmatched. The Pearls are gracious hosts as well, making you feel at home in their's. read more

The Pearls offer the most gracious hospitality, and the setting is perfect. Nestled between a picturesque pond and acres of Pinot Noir, you will feel your stress melt away. I've explored the grounds many times, and it's still one fo my favorite places to be The treats that come from the kitchen are delightful. The room is entirely luxurious, and even the earliest of risers will find themselves rolling out of bed hours after the arrival of the sun. Greg and Linda are gracious hosts and the guest suite is tasteful and ADA compliant: complete with a fully accessible rain shower! Evening wine and cheese on the deck is not to be missed: oh the stories they do tell! The vineyard is the backbone of Failla's award winning Pinot Noir and Greg's and Linda make a yummy bottle for their own label as well. I was in love with the Pinot Blanc. Wander the property snacking on the stone fruit you can pluck from the trees or swing lazily in the hammock strung between two grand old walnut trees. Have just returned from the Pearlessence after our 3rd visit in 32 months and want to continue singing the praises of this beautiful B&B. We had an entirely different vacation planned but 2 days before we were to leave, our family decided that we needed to take some time to rest and rejuvenate. We immediately decided that the Pearlessence was the place to be. Thankfully, the sole room at this B&B was not booked since we wanted to come during the week. Linda, as always, asked what she could do to make our visit special and special is what she and Greg made it. We had our usual wine and cheese "time" with Linda and Greg, but since our daughter isn't old enough to drink, they made certain they had sparkling cider for her. On our 2nd night, they had a blazing fire in the fire pit on their property and all the makings for gourmet s'mores. They rearranged our room so it comfortably fit the 3 of us. They even made certain there was a bathrobe for my daughter. What sets this B&B apart from all others is the fact that Linda and Greg, the owners, truly do care about people...and not just the people who stay here. They are warm, gracious, great listeners and have FABULOUS memories. They are genuine and down-to-earth. They are what make the Pearlessence GREAT! I booked this for my girlfriend's birthday weekend and let me say that I'm still reaping points from the GF. Linda & Gary provide a splendid lodging experience. They have two rooms available and we had the one facing north to their vineyard (did I mention that they grow grapes?) and south to their garden. THe entrance to the room is private (nice touch) and they've done a great job modernizing the room-the shower, the heated tile floor, the heaters in the mattress which can be adjusted for both sides (and this bed is f*cking comfy), HD TV and DVD player. If you didn't leave the room you'd be psyched... They throw a wine/chesse tasting every night of your stay (if you prefer) and bring you breakfast to your door (requests taken and fulfilled). I planned a surprise get away through wine country for my boyfriend's birthday, and staying at Pearlessence Vineyard was included on the list. I had read reviews on Linda and Greg's property; however, did not imagine how wonderful this experience would be. I received a pleasant phone call from Linda a week before our stay as she wanted to discuss our needs before our arrival. I could immediately tell these Bed & Breakfast owners have an exceptional attention to detail and take pride in their service to others. When we arrived to the property, Linda greeted us and showed us around. The walkway to our room was surrounded by a beautiful pond and fire pit. The room had heated floors and bed, very clean, and a tray of cheeses and spread awaited us with a bottle of the vineyard's wine. The next morning, Linda left a beautiful basket full of warm goodies for breakfast;it felt like home. We only stayed one night, but we are sure to come back again! read more

My husband and I recently enjoyed a weekend at the Pearlessence Vineyard Inn in late September. It was a perfect spot and is now our favorite bed and breakfast. It's not hard to find, if you're using GPS. When you drive up, you'll see several rows of grapes and wonderful landscaping. it was nearing harvest time during stay. The private room is relaxing and inviting. It's perfectly decorated with a fireplace, heated floors, a stocked mini bar area and a nice bathroom with a rain flow shower. Linda and Greg were such wonderful hosts, bringing delicious breakfast to our door every morning -- we felt spoiled. We also had the opportunity to enjoy a wine tasting of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir with them during one of our evenings. During the wine tasting, we got to see one of the many owls that nest nearby, which was really cool. If you're an animal lover like us, you'll also enjoy their sweet dog, outdoor cats and hens Violet and Rosemary (I nicknamed them Thelma and Louise). If you're looking for a upscale relaxing stay, that's close to several Sonoma vineyards, this is a great spot. Also, don't leave without visiting the Wild Flour Bread Bakery near Sebastopol, it has the best scones and sweet breads we've ever tasted. read more

Just stayed here and I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful this place is! The intimacy of a family owned and operated vineyard is amazing. Greg and Linda are incredible hosts. From the one on one wine tasting with local cheeses, fruits and honey (Linda - thanks for the directions to the honey shack by the way! Got some and brought it home!) to the personalized breakfasts brought to our room each morning at the time WE chose. Absolutely the best bed and breakfast my family and I have ever experienced. The owners are very professional, helpful and kind. They give you your privacy. The suite itself is beautiful. The king size bed was amazing, it has a warmer if you need it!! Super modern and up to date! Very clean as well. Loved the shower it has a rainfall shower head. The outside is gorgeous! We were there for a wedding last weekend so didn't spend any night time outside of the suite. There's a beautiful porch over looking the beautiful vineyards of pinot noir. We just celebrated our 31st anniversary at this amazing place. After checking in, we headed into town with intentions of going out to dinner but were so entranced by Pearlessence that we just wanted to go back and spend as much time as possible. We brought an excellent dinner home from Whole Foods Market and enjoyed a very peaceful and romantic setting overlooking the lush gardens, pond and colorful vineyards. We absolutely loved the heated tile floors and the adjustable mattress heat. A delicious gourmet breakfast was delivered to our door in the morning!
