I think the ihop in Enfield is well above most others, but The Farmers House was something else entirely. The food was so good and the kids talked about it all day. The staff were quick and friendly, but busy. We all got something different (French toast, an omelette, and kids pancakes) and each of the three of us were very pleased with our choices. They don't do anything here you haven't had before, but they do everything very well. The only thing I could say was not great, and I hate complaining about things like this, is the parking. I know that's got little to do with the restaurant itself, but it is not the easiest spot to get in and out of, especially with everything going on at the X lately.

However, our party of four waited 50 minutes for our breakfast. Even coffee took quite a while to arrive. A canned coke was delivered 20 minutes after ordering. Three out of the four entrees were served after waiting for 50 minutes, the other one took an additional 5 minutes and we waited for another 5 minutes to receive the side. The food was mostly good - Omelet was chock full of meat and was delicious. Bacon was really good. Burger was average and fried chicken was kind of meh - crispy, but very dry. We did enjoy the live acoustic music. It was great to hear live music in the morning since most places only have it at night. However, the excessive wait for food really overshadowed the rest of our visit. Oh well.....

Heading home from a weekend in the Berkshires, we were think about lunch when I remembered this…read morespot which I had read about & made a point to keep it in mind for when I found myself in the area. My husband, who's grandmother immigrated from Poland, grew on this fare & he rarely gets to eat it now. So, he was thrilled! We easily found parking very close and, as it was a bit early in the lunch hour, found the place mostly empty. It was a cute, clean little cafe with several small tables to eat in. While we were there, the Monday lunch crowd quickly followed with dining & take-out orders. We ordered at the counter ( oddly, still protected by a huge plexiglass barrier ). The young lady was very helpful & knowledgeable with our menu questions. We ordered, paid and found ourselves a seat. When presented with the credit card payment, I noticed the gratuity pre-sets were at full-service levels & tipped as such. However, when we later realized that we picked up our own food & bussed our our table, we decided that we should have tipped for counter service. The food was spot on! Since i eat mostly vegetarian, I always find this type of cuisine challenging. But, a large list of house-made pierogis gave many options. I settled on a plate of six potato & cheddar with onion & sour cream. Since the kapusta here had no meat, I tried a side of that as well. The pierogis were perfect! Tender dough, flavorful filling - fantastic. The kapusta, a house made cabbage based kraut, was delicious as well & very filling! Half came home with me for another delicious meal. My husband, on the other hand, went all out with the PP - Polish Plate. He was thrilled to be able to mix & match the four pierogi, ordering three savory & one blueberry ( something his grandmother made which he's raved about for ever ). Like me, he found the pierogi perfect. He also enjoyed the kielbasa - very flavorful. The golabek ( what he calls golumpki ) had more rice than he prefers, but he wrote that off as personal choice and said it was very tasty & juicy. All in all, this was a good lunch stop & we'd return when in the area. Next time we'll be coming home with some of those delicious pierogi!

Opted for a taco wings/boneless wings & russet potato/parm rice (that I likely won't do this again) but still for $20.00 not a bad lunch plus staff knowing how to see you in the budget another bonus. Ambience is right & a guy near me had half a potato (couldn't fault him) but many people who reach here see why & pretty authentic Italian & other cuisines represented.

I have been looking forward to finally visiting Calabrese Market. I heard a lot about it and…read moreeverything that I heard was true. I really wish they were closer to Boston! Upon arrival, we first noticed that it was a very clean and well organized store. Plenty of places to sit and a buzzing vibe with all sort of activities (phone ringing, orders being taken, orders going out, kitchen activity and lots of customers eating in) We arrived about 1pm so it was part of the lunch time rush. We ordered a cucumber salad, chicken panini with onions (I didnt realize that caramelized onions was an option!), The Green Goddess was delicious....with fresh veggies (spinach, mozzarella, ricotta and spinich with avocado and pesto) and incredible taste! Little Havana was our last choice and that included roasted pork, shaved ham, swiss cheese, pickles and dijon mustard. Again a big hit...delicious and some to take for later! We sat down and one of the tables and enjoyed our lunch and the incredible lunch crowd! Lots of drinks to choose from, as well. I am so glad that we made it here. I am a fan, for sure! 5 stars Parking- easy Vibe- just that good food feeling Price- fair...going rate Will I be back? Of course, next time I go to Saratoga or am out in the Western part of Mass! My comment: when you come across these types of places, it is a great feeling...the quality, the service, the choices, price and good people! Fantastic!
