    Crispy peanut chicken

Things We Ordered Golden China Pan: -Sesame chicken. -Peanut chicken (house specialty). -Fried pork dumplings and steamed veggie dumplings. -House lo mein.* -House fried rice. -Spring rolls. Things I Like About Golden China Pan: -Sesame chicken. -Fried pork dumplings. -House lo mein. -Spring rolls. -The nice young lady behind the counter. She's very sweet, apparently makes her own sweet and sour sauce, and was very welcoming as we waited for our takeout order. Things I Don't Like About Golden China Pan: -The peanut chicken was a shockingly tiny portion, and not really peanutty in any way. It has made me question my devotion to ordering house specialties, and I don't like questioning my devotions. Regardless, this is a solid Chinese takeout spot. They seem to care, which is half the battle. _______________ *Autocorrect keeps trying to make this LinkedIn. Lo mein is infinitely more useful than LinkedIn. I was almost charged thrice then the driver hit on me.
    Jackie L.

I had the most insane experience trying to order take out tonight. It started off fairly normal, the driver showed up and told me it was his first day. He brought a machine to charge my card and it accidentally charged my card thrice. I'm outside for a solid 15 minutes while he is trying to charge my card, but I'm patient because I feel bad this is happening on his first day. He called his manager who then asked to talk to me on the phone who started off the call oh so professionally by saying "MY DRIVER IS DRIVING ME NUTS." She said she would call the card company to make sure they ended up charging the correct amount. At that point I just wanted to eat, so I told him I'd keep an eye out on my charges and call if it overcharged. While sitting down to eat dinner with my friend, they call me six times which I do not notice until after I hear my doorbell ringing. The driver and the questionably sober person with him then say they are here to charge my card because it didn't work before. I hand them my card and when it doesn't work two more times is when I reminded him that we were in the middle of dinner. The machine continues to not work..at this point, my reasonably alarmed friend comes out to check out what's going on. She then tells him we are eating dinner and that we shouldn't have to pay for this. They agree and finally leave us be. The driver then has the audacity to abuse having my number solely for delivery purposes and texts me "sorry baby girl" in which I replied "Dude credit card machine not working isn't your fault, but in absolutely no world is it appropriate to 1. text me and 2. call me 'baby girl'. Please do not text me back." It's one thing for there to be a technical error, but I'm upset with how that was handled. Taking 30 minutes minimum away from eating the food that I am willingly trying to pay for but it isn't work on their end was way too long, especially considering they showed up again DURING dinner. It was very unprofessional they called me six times while I was trying to eat my already delayed dinner. The truly shocking piece though is the driver continuing contact by texting me and then objectifying me by calling me baby girl. I'm disgusted and upset that this place has my number and address. Don't order delivery from here, you'll regret it.

"Right before my very eyes Baby what a big surprise"…read more(Chicago) When was the last time, you were enjoying a gorgeous looking dish of Vegetable Tempura and realized OMG, I just chomped down on something crazy spicy? Well, that's what happens when you bite into an unadvertised half of a jalapeno pepper when the menu promises sweet potato, onion, and broccoli. Now look, as the late Sly Stone sang, "Different strokes for different folks", meaning that we all have different tolerances for spiciness. I was OK with that blazing piece of green, that for all purposes looked like a slice of Bell Pepper, but it set off fire alarms for my wife, who flat out couldn't eat it. Putting all that aside, we had a very enjoyable dinner. We got a lucky parking spot in a small lot right across the street and were seated without a reservation, which was also kind of lucky because Kisara doesn't have a lot of seating - I counted 8 tables (some for 4 and a few for 2) and nine seats at the bar. Our dinner ran a shade under $42 with tax for a 12-ounce bottle of Sapporo beer, the aforementioned Vegetable Tempura appetizer ($10), an Octopus Sushi appetizer (three pieces for $5.75, and two nice salads - an Avocado Salad ($7.25) and Teriyaki Chicken ($11.50). As you can see, Kisara's pricing is pretty good. The Tempura (save for the unexpected and unadvertised jalapeno halves) was very good - a generous serving of hot, crispy and oil free sweet potato planks, broccoli florets, and onion rings. My octopus sushi was pretty good. The pieces were large and presented beautifully. Maybe a minor quibble would be the chewiness factor of the octopus. The salads were very pretty - an attractive presentation of mixed greens, lettuce, cucumbers, shredded carrots, and a ginger dressing. My wife's salad had seven avocado slices and mine had ten chunks of teriyaki sauce glazed chicken chunks. Maybe another minor quibble would be the chewiness of the chicken, they were definitely overcooked. Positives Their menu is fantastic. Service was fine and included a few check-backs which are always appreciated Negatives There is no public WIFI - when I saw a Kisara network pop up, I asked for the password and was told "that's only for the manager". They don't really have a website, but you can somewhat see one via an ordering platform off their Facebook page. Conclusion For walking in off the street without a reservation, overall, we had a very nice dinner.

How absolutely ridiculous to sit there and try to sow political division in our community. There are many different types of people who live here, and discrimination is never okay. Would it be okay for Amy's to turn those folks away because a Trump lover cried about it on Yelp? Grow up. Anyway, Amy's has some of the best boneless wings I've had in a long time- it's so rare to find ones that are not pre-frozen or just full of cartilage. Their French onion soup is always a winner, as well. I think the atmosphere is pretty cozy, and there's always a game on if you're into that sort of thing. Either way- Amy's is a great local, American, community restaurant that really reminds me of the kinds of restaurants I used to go to when I was a kid. We'll be back for sure!

I'm not the sort of person who drinks martinis that taste like cookies but that's super fun for some people, and I appreciate the diversity of choices that appeal to a wide range of people and their particular moments in life. I had a cocktail made with grapefruit juice that actually tasted identifiably like fresh grapefruit juice. The service was kind, attentive, pleasant and professional. The ambience was casual and easy going, and the place was clean and welcoming. So it is regrettable that having just discovered this perfectly nice place I will never set foot in there again. They serve Trumpists wearing Trump-fawning t-shirts. If that bothers you, you should not eat here. It wasn't my favorite but that's more about my taste than anything. The peach crumble was absolutely spectacular and I'm glad they learned from last time and made the ice cream sweeter (the creme fraiche on the dessert I got last time was not sweet whatsoever). Can't wait to see what's on the menu next time I'm here! 7/3/25: God, I love it here! This year, I got two mocktails, the ruby Tuesday and orange lovely, because I couldn't choose and loved both of them! Then I started with the pickled carrots which were absolutely delectable. The turmeric honey and chili oil sauce was absolutely PERFECT. If I wasn't worried about social standing I would've licked that plate clean. I never thought I would enjoy eating carrots so much. Then came my queso mac and cheese that I took myself I would only eat half of so I could take the rest home and not hurt my stomach but I couldn't help myself. This was one of the best mac and cheese I've ever ordered at a restaurant. It was made with cotijia, had tortilla chips and cilantro in it with onion on top to pull it all together. Chef's kiss. I had to get dessert since I only come once a year and this orange almond cake was SOOOO GOOOD ughhhh I wish this restaurant was in Westchester I'm an avid nuts-in-dessert hater and this cake had me eating spoonfuls of almonds. I think they converted me. It was so moist and sticky and beautiful and the almonds were perfectly toasted and crispy without being like chewing on rocks. I am obsessed. 10/11/25: Back at my favorite restaurant! Got to have some new variations of the great things I loved in the past: fire roasted peppers (this time with ricotta!) and pickled carrots with turnips. I also got the orange lovely again because it was favorite of the two I got last time. So yummy still! I also got the general tso cauliflower and it was so good but also spicy!! Now this butter braised tomato soup was absolutely fantastic. Best tomato soup I've ever had. And the plum galette was perfection.
