Golden China pan is the best restaurant I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is beautiful. You can tell the nice lady puts a very much time into keeping it good with a wide collection of plants and beautiful calming music but none of those two things can't compare to the deliciousness of the food when you eat it it is so good. You feel happy after it. It makes you feel like you're a little kid at your mom's house. Joy rushes through your soul and the best part is that it's only nine dollars for a plate of food that will make you feel satisfied and filled for the rest of the day. This few food could cure addictions, and there is no place I've ever been that has made me feel happier and more satisfied than the golden China pan in East Hampton. please I beg you go to this restaurant one time you will never regret it. 1st time ordering from here . Everything looks good, I got the generals chicken with 2 chicken fingers and boneless spare ribs . And a won ton soup . The prices were reasonable for the amount of food you got. Now the food itself . 1st I had the won ton soup, looks good and three wontons , it had a little funny taste to it , I recognized it but took me while to figure out what it was ( freezer burn ) I recently cooked a turkey that was like 4 years old in my freezer and threw it away . Same thing ! The chicken finger were good , tasted like there suppose to , plenty of chicken . The boneless ribs , ( freezer burn ) not as bad as the soup , but still . Not that good . We've been here many times and also have had food delivered! The lady at the counter where you order is very friendly. Once you order she sets the table then brings your food. I have tried a lot of different food here and my favorites are the wonton soup, pork dumplings steamed, fried rice (never greasy), shrimp lomien, egg rolls, chicken fingers, ect. The food has always been great! The dining room is casual and that's what I prefer rather than a place where you have to wait for a waitress. I've been a strong supporter of GCP since they moved to Easthampton, and very much enjoy the family that runs the restaurant, but sadly, the food quality has always been terribly inconsistent and this past weekend I got a case of food poisoning after eating food from there. I wish that I could support them whole heartedly, but sadly this experience has made me decide to no longer order from GCP. One star because the food was hot and freshly cooked. Lo Mein - very bland, slimy noodles, kind of gray in color; Dumplings - very thick dough, filling vaguely sour smelling (like when meat goes bad/is spoiled); Spring Rolls - they were very bland and REALLY greasy. When I unwrapped them, one actually slid out of my fingers and across the counter into the sink; Shrimp and Scallops w/Veggies - scallops were very chewy and tasted strange, the sauce was sort of oily and very oddly red, the veggies were over cooked and limp. I ordered "medium" heat because we'd never ordered from here before and I didn't know what that heat level meant to them and I figured I could always add chilis at home if I needed to. The dish was very mild, no heat at all, and I had to add Trader Joe's Chili Crisp and some bird's eye pepper slices to perk it up. No one cleaned their plate. No one wanted the leftovers. Just moved to easthampton and my husband and I are trying all the local food restaurants. We ordered two combo plates from here and it was really terrible. Every dish tastes "off" like something has gone bad or something. The food got delivered really fast after ordering which was nice unless it was old food they reheated which is how it tastes. I had the most insane experience trying to order take out tonight. It started off fairly normal, the driver showed up and told me it was his first day. He brought a machine to charge my card and it accidentally charged my card thrice. I'm outside for a solid 15 minutes while he is trying to charge my card, but I'm patient because I feel bad this is happening on his first day. He called his manager who then asked to talk to me on the phone who started off the call oh so professionally by saying "MY DRIVER IS DRIVING ME NUTS." She said she would call the card company to make sure they ended up charging the correct amount. At that point I just wanted to eat, so I told him I'd keep an eye out on my charges and call if it overcharged. While sitting down to eat dinner with my friend, they call me six times which I do not notice until after I hear my doorbell ringing. The driver and the questionably sober person with him then say they are here to charge my card because it didn't work before. I hand them my card and when it doesn't work two more times is when I reminded him that we were in the middle of dinner. The machine continues to not work..at this point, my reasonably alarmed friend comes out to check out what's going on. She then tells him we are eating dinner and that we shouldn't have to pay for this. They agree and finally leave us be. The driver then has the audacity to abuse having my number solely for delivery purposes and texts me "sorry baby girl" in which I replied "Dude credit card machine not working isn't your fault, but in absolutely no world is it appropriate to 1. text me and 2. call me 'baby girl'. Please do not text me back." It's one thing for there to be a technical error, but I'm upset with how that was handled. Taking 30 minutes minimum away from eating the food that I am willingly trying to pay for but it isn't work on their end was way too long, especially considering they showed up again DURING dinner. It was very unprofessional they called me six times while I was trying to eat my already delayed dinner. The truly shocking piece though is the driver continuing contact by texting me and then objectifying me by calling me baby girl. I'm disgusted and upset that this place has my number and address. Don't order delivery from here, you'll regret it. read more

I feel bad giving this place such a low rating. I had high hopes for it going in because there aren't any good Chinese food spots around. Service was excellent. The woman who rang me up was extremely friendly and pleasant. There were acclaims from the elderly patrons in the restaurant- stating that this was the best in the area and they had been customers for thirty years. I really need to remember that this kind of acclaim is actually a bad omen. This will be my third restaurant where an elderly person praised the food and it was actually not good. It may be that as we age we can't taste salt as well? I know my tastes certainly change through the years. But if you can't taste a table spoon of salt in each crab Rangoon...it's time to stop recommending. The food was pretty bad. A highlight was the pork fried rice...which usually isn't my favorite but here it was the most edible. My partner and I each made a plate of food but ended up throwing half of it, including the rest of the take out, away. It was so ungodly salty - and I love salt! The chicken fingers had that clinging burn of old oil. The spare ribs were sugar soaked. The beef teriyaki was decent. The general Tso's chicken was made of heavily battered cubes in a sickeningly sweet sauce that seemed drenched in orange perfume. The vegetables and mix veggies was okay but just not the quality I was wanting out of the dish. Do not order the chicken fingers, the meat was terrible and the batter was really thick. This place is a disgrace. I was over at a female friends house when she ordered take out from here. When the driver arrived with the food she answered the door while I was in the other room. When she got to the room I was in with the food the first thing she did was tell me how creepy the driver was. While we figured that would be the end of it, IT WAS NOT. Shortly after he started texting her suggestively. She shot him down immediately but they kept coming. She blocked the number and neither of us will ever go there again. Considering this isn't the only review mentioning something like this I believe it's time for someone to lose their job! I ordered the boneless duck appetizer. Usually appetizers are something that you can eat with your hands. Well, the container was filled to the brim with a sauce that tasted like it was made out of pancake syrup from IHOP, and the nice crispy roast duck I was looking forward to was completely soggy and ruined. After eating just a few pieces, I ended up throwing the whole dish away. Well, that's okay, I still had the spare ribs, which one reviewer said were "outstandingly tender with an excellent sauce". What? I guess they weren't rubbery, but the sauce made it taste like it was a dessert dish. If you want a restaurant that does not make every dish taste like it has been soaking in sugar water for 2 hours, go to either of the other two places in town. read more

I drive from a SPFLD for food. There's a shortage of good Asian food in western MA but this place is really good.

Very happy to see this business reestablishing in a better location. When they were in nearby Holyoke the food was excellent, but the restaurant itself was in bad shape. Many people didn't understand that this was not due in any part to the owners. They were under a lease with a slumlord. Whoa. Okay, really top notch food takeout for such a CHEAP place. This is exciting. I had the crunchy peanut chicken and it was so good and deliciously crunchy with such a yummy sauce. It came with a huge cup of it, which was great. My husband got the Singapore style Chow Mei Fun and he thought it was delicious and fresh - tasting. But OMG they are killing me with the fact that they don't do delivery yet!!! But that's not why this is a four star review and not a five star review. Me and my friends always go her on half days and it's good. The food is pretty good in my opinion (sometimes) but my friends didn't it like it sometimes. The first I went there the service was AMAZING but the second time I went she wasn't as good. It's a small informal place, very clean, the host is very friendly and the food is definitely a notch above many other fast food Chinese in the area.
