I brought my daughter in for a head spa service for her birthday and she has very curly hair. When the service was finished, her hair was left with multiple matted knots, to the point that it took us over an hour at home to carefully detangle it and massive clumps of hair had to be cut out. This should never happen during a professional service, especially when working with curly hair textures. For my own service, I was not informed ahead of time that the shampoo was not color-safe, and as a result, a noticeable amount of my hair color washed out. That should have been clearly communicated before starting. Additionally, the head massage itself was extremely aggressive. Instead of being relaxing, the repeated squeezing and pressure on the top of my skull caused me to leave with a headache, which completely defeated the purpose of a spa treatment. In addition, they used gloves to give us facials causing friction and damage. They also used honey from the grocery store as a "mask". I highly doubt these ladies are cosmetologists cause the practices are not professional at all. To make matters worse, at the end of the appointment, we were asked to tip which is super rude in my opinion. Overall, this experience felt careless and unprofessional, particularly when it comes to communication, technique, and consideration for different hair types.
